C17 974 - The Mary Valley Rattler - 2/02/2019
On Saturday 2nd February 2019, the Mary Valley Rattler operated two return journeys into the scenic Mary Valley using QR Heritage steam locomotive C17 974, on loan to the railway while resident steam locomotive C17 967 is being restored to operating condition.
Located in Gympie, 170km north of Brisbane, the Mary Valley Rattler runs trains 3 days a week through the scenic Mary Valley to the small town of Amamoor, 23km to the south and currently the terminus of the line. Upon arrival at Amamoor, passengers can view the steam locomotive turn around on the turntable or visit some of the local stalls setup in the station grounds before reboarding the train for the return journey to Gympie via the small town of Dagun for some wine and cheese tasting.
This video is a compilation of videos made to look like one complete return journey taken at numerous locations along the line.

Gympie Region - Mary Valley
The Mary Valley is located at the north of the the Sunshine Coast, making nature’s paradise oh so close to the modern conveniences of the city and airport. If it’s an adventure you’re looking for then you can find it in Mary Valley country. With extensive forest trails that are perfect for bike riding, hiking, 4WDriving, horse riding and photography, it’s truly an environmentalist’s heaven. Such diversity is difficult to find elsewhere.
The Mary River runs through the Mary Valley and offers a variety of water sports such as canoeing, kayaking and fishing. There are also many great camping spots. Farm stays are a popular choice for families and couples. You can learn how to ride a horse, collect chooks eggs in the morning and even camp out in a bushman’s swag. Whatever your budget, these holidays are fantastic for team building and great to get the kids back outdoors.

Conondale/Imbil State Forest - 4WDing, hill climbs and aerial footage
Headed out to Conondale with a few of the guys from QLD 4x4. We camped at Charlie Morelands and did a bit of an exploratory trip out through the Imbil State Forest to check out the tracks. Some nice hill climbs and even managed to find some mud.
Shout out to Hillclimb Hoods for the footage of us on the descent. Check them out on YouTube.
