Oktoberfest Costume and Riflemen's Parade -- Part1
The Costume and Riflemen's Parade has a long tradition. In 1835 it took place for the first time for the silver wedding anniversary of King Ludwig I. of Bavarians and Princess Therese. Today it is one of the highlights of the Oktoberfest and one of the biggest costume parades in the world. Over 8,000 participants from around the world are at the parade on the first Sunday of the Oktoberfest here. The 3-mile long procession leads from the Maximilianeum through Munich's city center to the festival ground of the Oktoberfest.
The Munich Kindl -- Munich Child - mustn't of course be missing in his gilt-edged black monk's habit and the Oktoberfest beer mug. The Munich Kindl is the coat of arms of the city of Munich and has become a mascot for the Oktoberfest.
Costume and riflemen's associations in their traditional costumes are accompanied by marching bands, flag wavers, guards, marching bands, thoroughbred horses, the horse-drawn drays of the Munich breweries and many decorated carriages. The carriages are partly drawn by oxen. Many colorful international costume groups are represented and also the children take part. Historical craftsmen, decorated harvest garlands, ribbon trees, sheep and goats can be seen in the parade. The carriage with the performer of the king is pulled by 10 black horses.

Der Trachten- und Schützenumzug hat eine lange Tradition. Erstmals fand er 1835 zur Silberhochzeit von König Ludwig I. von Bayern und Prinzessin Therese statt. Heute ist es einer der Höhepunkte des Oktoberfests und einer der größten Trachtenumzüge der Welt. Über 8000 Teilnehmer aus aller Welt sind bei dem Umzug am ersten Sonntag des Oktoberfestes dabei. Der 7 km lange Umzug führt vom Maximilianeum durch die Innenstadt bis zur Festwiese des Oktoberfests.
Selbstverständlich darf das Münchner Kindl in seiner goldumrandeten schwarzen Mönchskutte mit dem Maßkrug nicht fehlen. Das Münchner Kindl ist die Wappenfigur der Stadt München.
Trachten- und Schützenvereine in ihren traditionellen Kostümen werden begleitet von Musikkapellen, Fahnenschwingern, Garden, Spielmannszügen, den Prachtgespannen der Münchner Brauereien und vielen geschmückten Kutschen. Die Wagen werden teilweise auch von Ochsen gezogen. Auch viele farbenfrohe internationale Gruppen sind vertreten und auch die Kinder machen mit. Historisches Handwerker, geschmückte Erntekränze und Schafe und Ziegen sind im Zug zu sehen. Die Kutsche mit dem Darsteller des Königs wird von 10 schwarzen Pferden gezogen.

Days 134-136
We caught the bus with from Zürich and stayed at ibis Budget Hotel.
We went to Marienplatz and checked out New Town Hall. We then went to Odeonsplatz and then Munich Resident before Hofgarten. We visited Munich National Theatre before Siegestor and then the Angel of Peace. We then walked through English Garden to Maximilianeum.
The following day we caught the train to Füsser, where we explored Neuschwanstein Castle, before heading back to Munich.

Endlich ist der Frühling in unserer schönen Landeshauptstadt München angekommen.
Diesmal hab ich Aufnahmen von der Isar, dem deutschen Museum , dem Maximilianeum - der Mariannen Brücke usw. gemacht.
Das ist bis jetzt einer meiner Lieblings Videos, geschnitten und bearbeitet wurden die Aufnahmen mit Final Cut Pro X. Die Musik ist von Kasey Andre - Looking to the Sky - falls ihr Fragen zu den Übergängen und Effekten habt schreibt mir einfach !
Englischer Garten:
Der Englische Garten ist eine 375 Hektar große Grünanlage im Münchner Nordosten am Westufer der Isar und gehört damit zu den größten Parkanlagen der Welt. Die Bezeichnung rührt von den englischen Landschaftsgärten her, die von Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell bei der Gestaltung des Geländes zum Vorbild genommen wurden.
Mariannen-Brücke:
Die Brücke liegt im Münchner Ortsteil Lehel gegenüber von St. Lukas. Sie führt über die Große Isar, den kanalisierten linken Seitenarm der Isar, auf die Südspitze der Praterinsel. Die direkte Fortsetzung über die Kleine Isar ist der Kabelsteg, der von der Insel zum Ostufer führt.
St. Lukas Kirche:
Die evangelisch-lutherische Pfarrkirche St. Lukas, auch Lukaskirche genannt, ist der dritte evangelisch-lutherische Kirchenbau in München. Die Kirche wurde 1893–1896 nach Plänen von Albert Schmidt errichtet. St. Lukas ist die einzige fast vollständig erhaltene evangelische Kirche des Historismus in München.
Maximilianeum:
Das Maximilianeum im Münchner Stadtteil Haidhausen beherbergt seit 1876 die Stiftung Maximilianeum für begabte Studenten aus der Pfalz und Bayern, in deren Besitz sich das Gebäude auch befindet. Außerdem ist es seit 1949 Sitz des Bayerischen Landtags. Der Bau liegt auf dem östlichen Isar-Hochufer (Maximiliansanlagen) in Sichtachse der Maximilianstraße über die Maximiliansbrücke. Die aufwändige Kulissenarchitektur erzielt eine große Fernwirkung.
Deutsche Museum:
Das Deutsche Museum (offizieller Name Deutsches Museum von Meisterwerken der Naturwissenschaft und Technik) in München ist das größte naturwissenschaftlich-technische Museum der Welt. Es werden rund 28.000 Objekte aus etwa 50 Bereichen der Naturwissenschaften und der Technik ausgestellt, die jährlich von etwa 1,5 Millionen Menschen besucht werden.
Mariahilfkirche:
Die katholische Pfarrkirche Maria Hilf in der Au, genannt Mariahilfkirche, ist die Hauptpfarrkirche der Au. Sie wurde 1831 bis 1839 von Joseph Daniel Ohlmüller begonnen und von Georg Friedrich Ziebland fertiggestellt. Das Wahrzeichen der Au gilt als ein Urvorbild des neugotischen Kirchenbaus des 19. Jahrhunderts. Sie zählt zu den drei „neugotischen Geschwistern Münchens“, der Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche und St. Johann Baptist, die alle drei einen ähnlichen monumentalen Backsteinbaustil aufweisen und sich alle drei östlich der Isar befinden.

[dt.] Haidhausen, ein Stadtteil von München, ist bereits über 1200 Jahre alt. Der östlich vom Zentrum gelegene Stadtteil war früher als Arbeitervorstadt bekannt. Heute ist Haidhausen neben Schwabing ein Szeneviertel mit vielen Restaurants, Cafés und Geschäften.
Das Maximilianeum in Haidhausen, ist Sitz des Bayerischen Landtags und der Stiftung Maximilianeum, die begabte Studenten aus Bayern und der Pfalz fördert. Der erhöhte Ausblick vom Isar Hochufer gewährt einen guten Überblick über die Maximilianstraße, Münchens renommiertester Einkaufsstraße. Architekt des Gebäudes war Friedrich Bürklein, Auftraggeber König Max II.
In unmittelbarer Nähe befindet sich der Wiener Platz, ein ganzjährig geöffneter Markt. Der Platz zählt zu den schönsten Plätzen in München und ist benannt nach dem Beginn der Verbindungsstraße nach Wien. Hier im Zentrum von Haidhausen hat München noch seinen ursprünglichen dörflichen Charakter behalten.

Haidhausen, a quarter of Münich, is already more than 1200 years old. It is located east of the city center and was formerly known as worker's suburb. Today, Haidhausen is, besides Schwabing, a scene district with many restaurants, cafes and shops.
The Maximilianeum in Haidhausen, is the seat of the Bavarian Parliament and the Maximilianeum Foundation, which supports gifted students from Bavaria and the Palatinate. Due to the location on the high river bank of the Isar, you have a great overview of the Maximilian Street, Munich's most prestigious shopping street. Architect of the building was Friedrich Bürklein contracting King Max II.
In the immediate vicinity is the Wiener Platz (Viennese square) with a year-round market. The square is one of the most beautiful places in Munich and is named after the beginning of the connecting road to Vienna. Here in the centre of Haidhausen, Munich still has kept his original village character.

Eine historische Postkutsche gezogen von 4 Pferden, die Feuerwehr mit Pferdewagen und historische Handwerker sind im Zug zu sehen. Sehenswert ist ein Gespann mit 12 Pferden.

Costume and riflemen's associations in their traditional costumes are accompanied by marching bands, flag wavers, guards, marching bands, thoroughbred horses, the horse-drawn drays of the Munich breweries and many decorated carriages. The carriages are partly drawn by cows. Many colorful international costume groups are represented and also the children take part.
Of course the mayor of Munich and the prime minister of Bavaria are part of the parade.
A historic stagecoach pulled by four horses, the fire department with horse carriages and historic craftsmen can be seen in the parade. Worth seeing is a carriage drawn by 12 horses.

Places to see in ( Munich - Germany ) Glyptothek
The Glyptothek is a museum in Munich, Germany, which was commissioned by the Bavarian King Ludwig I to house his collection of Greek and Roman sculptures. It was designed by Leo von Klenze in the neoclassical style, and built from 1816 to 1830. Today the museum is a part of the Kunstareal.
The Glyptothek was commissioned by the Crown Prince (later King) Ludwig I of Bavaria alongside other projects, such as the neighboring Königsplatz and the building which houses the State Collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities, as a monument to ancient Greece. He envisioned a German Athens, in which the ancient Greek culture would be remembered; he had this built in front of the gates of Munich. The Glyptothek is Munich's oldest public museum.
The layout of the Königsplatz complex was designed by the architects Karl von Fischer and Leo von Klenze in 1815, the latter arranged it in the style of a forum, with the Glyptothek on the north side. Colorful frescoes and stuccos made by distinguished artists such as Peter von Cornelius, Clemens von Zimmermann, and Wilhelm von Kaulbach adorned the walls of the museum.
The museum was designed in the Classical Greek - Italian style. The portico is Ionic, and the outer walls contain niches, in which 18 original Roman and Greek sculptures stand, six on each wall (except the back). The thirteen rectangular, square or round rooms are arranged around a courtyard, the vestibule in the central building dominates the halls of height. In front of the vestibule is the portico of twelve Ionic columns. The overlying gable includes a group of Johann Martin von Wagner represents Athena as protector of the plastic arts. The exterior walls are adorned with sculptures in niches, while the windows are open to the interior courtyard. The sculptures represent mythical or historical representatives of the arts, these are in the front of the Königsplatz Daedalus, Prometheus, Hadrian, Pericles, Phidias and Hephaestus. On the western and eastern side of the building there are sculptors of the Renaissance and of the times when the Glyptothek was built, including Bertel Thorvaldsen and Antonio Canova, whose works were once on display earlier in the Hall of the Glyptothek but were later moved to the Neue Pinakothek.

Glyptothek in Munich, Germany
A 4K video I made in the Glyptothek (Munich, Germany) comprised of almost only ancient Roman statues there that I like the most. (The Greek statues comes from the temple of Temple of Aphaea dated to roughly 500 BC that is on an island near Athens.) Its a wonderful museum that was opened under the Bavarian King Ludwig I in 1830, rebuilt after WW2, and right before closing for renovations I decided to take this footage to share with you. It took many, many hours to shoot and edit this video on my iPhone, so I am very skeptical about doing another one...especially since I'm not completely satisfied with it. Please let me know your thoughts.
