Visiting Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Orlando
The Orlando area in Florida has a lot to offer, and even though the area is of course mostly known and related to both Disney parks and Universal, that, by no means imply, those are the only interesting activities to do in the area, as there are hundreds of attractions. So much so that it would take you months to visit each and every one. In our last trip to Orlando, we skipped the parks and went to the cultural attractions, and were pleasantly surprised by Winter Park, which is a lovely area to spend the day while enjoying the outdoors, the lake and a nice warm walk. But also, set aside a couple of hours to visit the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, featuring the biggest collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany´s works.
The Morse Museum houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933), including the artist and designer’s jewelry, pottery, paintings, art glass, leaded-glass lamps and windows; his chapel interior from the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago; and art and architectural objects from his Long Island country estate, Laurelton Hall. The Museum’s holdings also include American art pottery, late 19th- and early 20th-century American painting, graphics, decorative art.

Visiting Mennello Museum of Art in Orlando #TravelTips
There is a lot to do in Orlando beyond going to the parks. Don´t get me wrong... I love the parks, but they are maybe not for everybody, or perhaps a little too overwhelming to do them every single day of your stay. Sometimes you want something calmer, and maybe enjoy a bit of American Art while on your vacation.
Enter Mennello Museum of Art in Orlando. A good option to visit and enjoy the permanent exhibit of Earl Cunningham works, since the Mennello Museum of Art has the largest collection from the artist, assembled by collectors Michael and Marilyn Mennello of Winter Park, Florida.
There are then other exhibitions, one in the outdoor grounds, and others inside. That´s the beauty of this museum. You can relax besides the lake, enjoy art, or simply add a layer of arts and culture to your afternoon enjoying the outside in the park.
The museum is very affordable at $5 per adult, $4 per senior over 60 years of age, $1 for students with valid ID, $1 for youngsters ages 6 to 18 and free for children under 6 years of age. Also, active, retired military, veterans and their families FREE with valid ID.

The Mennello Museum of American Art
It's been said big things come in small packages. The Mennello Museum of American Art is a case in point. The small museum in Orlando lays claim to a big treasure, the largest collection of works by folk artist Earl Cunningham. This big gift was given to the City of Orlando by the museums namesake Marilyn Mennello.

Michael A. Mennello Interview
Today, May 1, 2018, on the late Marilyn L. Mennello's birthday, the Mennello Museum of American Art officially receives the largest gift in the museum’s history from founder Michael A. Mennello, Winter Park collector, businessman, and philanthropist. Mennello's extraordinary gifts of art from his private collection include 14 paintings and 5 sculptures, at an appraised value of $8.75 million. Among them, paintings by world-renowned American artists such as John Sloan, George Wesley Bellows, George Luks, John White Alexander, Louis Ritman, Robert Henri and Josephine (Jo) Hopper.
With this gift, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer announced his support for an extended term agreement with the museum from 30 consecutive years to 60 (from 2028 to 2058) and support plans with a commitment to allow for Museum expansion on adjacent city-owned land that would allow the current museum size to quadruple. To provide sustained support in the expanded museum, Mennello has established the Michael A. and The Honorable Marilyn Logsdon Mennello Foundation where posthumously, the Foundation will contribute 70% of its annual distributions to the Mennello Museum of American Art to further support the Museum’s art and education programming, and in his planned giving has Bequest of a $1,000,000 donation to the Friends of the Mennello Museum of American Art, Inc. from Michael A. Mennello posthumously to also be used for advancing Museum programming.
