Miami Beach Cinematheque Photo Shoot
The Miami Beach Cinematheque on Espanolia way through the vision of its Founder and Director Dana Keith, has been the center for avant gaurde, independent and vintage cinema in Miami. Recently the Cinematheque moved to a new, larger and more dynamic space on Washington St to better accommodate its growing following. So in my latest project I donated my services to the Cinematheque to help expand the reach of the arts in Miami through the medium of cinema. I knew my bold theatrical lighting with its saturated colors would be a perfect match for the Miami beach movie house, giving it the look it deserved.
French Film Festival Films on the Beach 2017 - Miami Beach
Are you a teenager (for real or in your mind) with a rebellious soul afraid of growing up? Or a father desperate to understand his melancholy girl? Or just nostalgic about your first kiss?
The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, in partnership with the City of Miami Beach Arts in the Parks, are pleased to present the 4th edition of the French film festival Films on the Beach, dedicated this year to French Teen Spirit. What better way to nurture your teenage soul?
Through our free traditional Open Air Screenings program at Miami Beach Soundscape held every Tuesday of May at 8.30pm, you will get a sense of French teen spirit from the 60's to nowadays. Four different French movies, each from a different time, will take you back experiencing social or political challenges at school, feeling the atmosphere of Summer vacation in the Bretagne or in the South of France, or experiencing the French Kiss.
Special screenings (free, too) will take place on Sundays at Miami Beach Cinematheque and for the first time at O Cinema and Faena Bazaar. A closing reception will take place on May 28 at 7.30 pm at Faena Bazaar (RSVP to screenings@faena.com).

Forbidden Lie$ - 7/10
In Forbidden Lies, filmmaker Anna Broinowski investigates the case of Norma Khouri Bagain, a Jordanian women who wrote the best selling Forbidden Love, a supposedly nonfiction book about an 'honor killing' that allegedly took place in Amman. Forbidden Love book was interpreted by many Jordanians, including prominent women, as an misrepresentation of Islam. As the book's errors and impossibilities were pointed out, Khouri's story and reputation began to fall apart.

On Location Miami Dade Police College
Behind the scenes of an exterior shoot with architectural photographer Mike Butler at the Miami Dade Police College in Downtown Miami. The day of the shoot it was pouring down rain and we had to make a call whether or not to go forward with the shoot. At the time, we had the permits filed and a lift waiting on the location so there was a bit of pressure to get the shoot done. With years of working with the bi-polar weather of S Florida I made the call that pouring now sunny in 15 min might be the order for the day. The sun never quite came out but it did stop pouring and stopped at a light drizzle. It just goes to show you that conditions are rarely perfect but if you are flexible enough you can make it happen.
