Miho no Matsubara - Shizuoka - 三保の松原 - 4K Ultra HD
Miho no Matsubara is one of the most beautiful scenic areas of the Miho Peninsula in the Shimizu ward of Shizuoka City. Featuring a seven kilometer long seashore lined with pine trees, Miho no Matsubara is the birthplace of the Hagoromo legend and one of the most performed Japanese Noh plays of all time. The story revolved around a fisherman and an angel who’s feather fell from heaven and landed on one of Miho no Matsubara’s pine trees.
But by far, one of the most famous parts of Miho no Matsubara is, without a doubt, it's unique view of Mt. Fuji surrounded by dark sand beach and the ocean.

Mt. Kuno Toshogu Shrine (Kuno-zan Toshogu), Temples of Japan, Shizuoka Prefecture
Mt. Kuno Toshogu Shrine or Kuno-zan Toshogu Shrine is located on Mt. Kuno in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
Kuno-zan Toshogu is dedicated to the deified spirit of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the greatest shogun in Japanese history. It was built in 1617 by the second shogun, Hidetada, the third son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, here on Mt. Kuno.
There are thirteen structures within the sacred grounds. All of them are the original structures, and have been designated as important cultural properties by the Japanese Government.
There are two ways to get to the temple, one by walk, climbing about 1159 stone steps or by taking the ropeway from Nihondaira Bus Stop across from the shrine.
It is said that as you climb up the 1159 steps leading to the sacred grounds, you are purified by the magical power. In the sacred grounds, as many people have discovered, you can meet the spirit of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
The shrine was originally built in the mixed style of Shintoism and Buddhism. But after the shogunate government came to its end, the new government led by the emperor, ordered the separation of the two religions, and some Buddhist style structures were removed or remodeled. The remnants of the Buddhist style can still be seen in various locations.
The same fundamental architectural style was copied by the Nikko Toshogu shrine which was built by the third shogun in 1636. Tens of other Toshogu shrines using the same architectural style were built by the local feudal lords all over Japan.
Hope you get a chance to visit this shrine and enjoy it.

Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha - Shizuoka - 富士山本宮浅間大社 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in the southwestern foothills of Mount Fuji in the city Fujinomiya, Fujisan Sengen Shrine a regionally important shrine and head shrine of over 1300 Sengen and Asama shrines across Japan. Originally built over a millennium ago for the protection against a volcanic eruption, the Fujisan Sengen Shrine is also one of the traditional starting points to climb Mt. Fuji. While being one of Japan's oldest shrines, the Fujisan Sengen Shrine has suffered from many natural disasters and all that remains intact today is its unique two-story inner shrine construction as well as its outer shrine buildings and tower gate.
Alongside its heavy cultural and spiritual heritage the Fujisan Sengen Shrine also offers a beautiful sakura festival thanks to its 500 cherry trees usually blooming around late March to early April.
