Longqingxia Scenic Area,Beijing,china
Longqingxia Scenic Area is located at the mouth of the Yanqing Old City River, in the northeast of Yanqing County. It is 53 miles (85 kilometers) from Beijing City. The scenic spot is famous for its gorge. Visitors compare the scenery of the gorge to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, but its mountains are much steeper than those along the Yangtze. The scenery also resembles the Li River in Guilin, but the water here is much clearer.
When you arrive at Longqing Gorge, the first thing you will see is the Longqing Dam. The 230-foot-high (70-meter-high) dam is inset between hills. Looking to the north side from the dam, the picturesque scenery of hills and white clouds reflected in deep green water can be appreciated.
But how do you get onto the dam? Use the elevator inside the body of an artificial dragon. The elevator is hidden in the majestic dragon. It is 846 feet (258 meters) long and can take people to a height of 295 feet (90 meters).
Getting down from the dam, you have to enjoy the river and hills by cruise. Every turn around a hill in the river will surprise you because of the new view. The scenery here combines the charm of rivers in southern China and the magnificence of mountains in northern China, which will give you a deep impression. Along the river you will see the heavily forested steep cliffs and the bare limestone in different fantastic shapes, eroded by the natural power of water. To some extent, it is much like Li River. Many of these rocks and hills have their own names, such as: Comb Hill, Immortal Taoist Temple, Flowers Cave and Jingang Temple.
The most important spot that you must have a look is the Comb Hill, also known as Solitary Beauty Peak, which is 230 feet (about 70 meters) high and surrounded by water. It is the landmark in Longqing Gorge.
Flowers Cave is another must-see spot of Longqing Gorge, which covers 0.74 acre (3,000 square meters). There are more than 1,650 kinds of artificial trees and flowers decorated with birds and other animals in the cave. The flowers in the cave are divided into several themes like: Blooming Flowers and Northern Scenery, which will, of course, leave a deep impression for visitors.
After enjoying the beautiful natural scenery on cruise, there are many other activities. Bungee jumping from a hill, taking cableway to appreciate the blue sky and the clean water, or boating by yourself on the river are some good choices. However, these items are charged independently for different prices.
In addition, Longqing Gorge is special for its ice lantern show in winter from January to February. Although every year the lantern show has its own theme, the spectacular icefall against the dam wall is always the highlight. If you are keen to see the marvelous combination of natural wonder and human creativity, you can go there during the winter.
Ways to get there:
1. Take bus 919 or 919 Express from Deshengmen Station to Yanqing Dongguan Station. Then transfer to bus Y15 and get off at Longqingxia (Longqing Gorge) Station. From Yanqing Dongguan, tourists can also transfer to bus Y40 and get off at Longqingxia Lukou Station.
2. Take bus 919 or 919 Express from Deshengmen Station to Guishui Beijie Nan Station. Then take bus 875 and get off at Longqingxia Station.

Topping out at 400 kilometers per hour during test runs,
China's newly-built Fuxing bullet trains completed their first commercial trip from Beijing to Shanghai on Monday, at a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and a max speed of 400.
All of the components corresponding to key technologies in the new model are produced in China, according to the National Railway Administration (NRA).
This kind of bullet train is also known as an electric multiple unit (EMU).
The first train, CR400AF, departed from Beijing South Railway Station at 11:05 a.m. bound for Shanghai, and the second train, CR400BF, left Shanghai's Hongqiao Station for the capital at the same time.
Fuxing means rejuvenation while CR stands for China Railway, the NRA explained. The number 400 represents the fastest speed at which the trains could travel per hour. Meanwhile, F indicates the special power technology the two trains are using. The NRA said that A and B represent different train makers
The Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway is a 1,318-kilometre long high-speed railway that connects two major economic zones in the People's Republic of China, the Bohai Economic Rim and the Yangtze River Delta.

Why China Has the Best Railways in the World
China has the largest network of high-speed trains in the world. It stretches a whopping 15,500 miles all over the country. But while that all sounds impressive, I can't help but wonder why they’d spend a fortune on building such a vast bullet train network when airplanes exist?
First, most central train stations are downtown, so you can easily reach them by subway. You don't need to go through extensive pre-boarding security. And even if there are some delays, they don't happen too often and are much shorter than those at airports. Also, with their wider seats, more legroom, and freedom to move around, modern bullet trains offer their passengers more comfort. That's only the beginning of the list of reasons why high-speed trains rock.

SUMMARY:
-First, you need to get to the Beijing airport. Then, you must find your way in this huge multi-terminal transportation hub. Chances are that your flight will be delayed. And then another problem is that airspace in China is incredibly congested.
-You can hand over as much as $500 for a Beijing-Hong Kong plane trip. But the same journey by train will cost you much less: around $150.
-Salaries in China are significantly lower than in the West, which means less money goes to construction workers. Also, high-speed railroads are built with the help of local materials, and that's great for both saving money and supporting the regional economy. But the most important thing is that all railroad parts, such as tracks and embankments, are all standardized.
-In the nearest future, they're going to build a 48-mile-long high-speed rail line between Zhoushan that will include a 10-mile-long tunnel running under the sea, making it the first underwater high-speed train tunnel in China.
-Shanghai Maglev reaches the top speed of a mind-blowing 268 miles per hour, so it takes just 8 minutes to travel 19 miles.

Chinese BULLET TRAIN Business Class REVIEW to Shanghai + Chinese Food Lunch | Suzhou to Shanghai
In April of 2019, I spent twelve incredible days exploring China after I booked a one-day job there. I had the time of my lie experiencing the amazing people, food, culture, and history of Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. It was a trip I will never forget and I’m so excited to share it with you!
On the afternoon of my fifth day in China, I arrived back in Suzhou after a day trip to the water town of Tongli in the morning. From Suzhou, I needed to head back to Shanghai. Come along with me as I have some outstanding Chinese food, take the bullet train back to Shanghai, and review its business class along the way! Let’s go!
The bullet train is the fastest and most affordable way to get to Shanghai from Suzhou. The ride only takes 22 minutes and travels at about 217 miles per hour! There’s a train every 20 minutes.
I arrived at Suzhou Station, one of the two station options in Suzhou. If you’re a foreigner, you have to wait in line with your passport in order to buy a ticket. It costs 128 Yuan/roughly $18.58 U.S. for Business Class, roughly 80 Yuan/$11.61 U.S. for First Class, and about 40/$5.81 U.S. for Second Class.
I got a 2 p.m. Business Class ticket to Hongqiao Station in Shanghai. My friend Peter helped me out. I had an hour and 6 minutes to get a meal and relax. We headed through the huge arrival terminal. There were lots of fast food options, but I went for some Chinese food at Fan Dumpling.
I got a set menu for 45 Yuan/$6.53 U.S., which included veggies with mushrooms, a spicy egg drop soup, and shrimp dumplings. Other people were eating dumplings around me and they looked so good!
I dove into the vegetables, which were very light and contained cucumber and a slimy mushroom. It was really good and so fresh! It had lots of Chinese flavors and the combination between the cucumbers and mushrooms was amazing!
Next was the soup, which had a viscous consistency. There were lots of vegetables and mushrooms in it. I liked it despite the sliminess. It was a little spicy, but I made it even more spicy with some chili flake sauce. I loved it.
Then I moved on to the shrimp dumplings. There were big chunks of meat in it. I added some chili to make it spicier. They give you 12 dumplings, so they’re really filling! Then I tried them with a mixture of vinaigrette and the chili sauce. The dumplings contained tiny shrimp from the rivers around here. It was such a great meal!
Then I headed to Departures to check in. I had to find the waiting hall and have my ticket and passport ready. After I ran my bags through the x-ray machine, I checked in and ran to car 16 with 7 minutes left. This station was massive! The trains only stay for about 2 minutes, so you have to board quickly!
Business Class was unreal! It was at the front of the train and so luxurious. There are only five seats there. It felt like I was in a spaceship. I was given a water and a snack. The seats a huge and can recline into a bed. It felt like I was in Business Class on an airplane!
I opened the snack, which was cookies similar to ones I’d had in Shanghai. They were buttery and had lots of layers. They also give you slippers in Business Class. The windows are huge, so you can really see everything. You really have to experience Business Class on a Chinese bullet train!
We slowed down from 300 km/hr to about 270. I was loving China so far. The toughest thing was the language barrier because very few people speak English there. The best thing to do is hire an English-speaking guide, which costs about $100 U.S. per day, not counting food and attractions.
And after 22 minutes, I was back in Shanghai! In Business Class, they even help you with your bags. I got on the Didi app, which is China’s version of Uber. After a frustrating mix-up where I couldn’t really ask for help because of the language barrier, I searched for where I needed to go on my own. Luckily, the Didi app translates languages, so I had some help there!
I got my Didi and took a 20-minute ride to the Puli Resort and Spa Hotel. I was staying there because I had a job with Renault in the city coming up!
I hope you enjoyed coming along on my bullet train ride from Suzhou to Shanghai! If you did, please give it a thumbs up and leave me a comment. Also, please subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss any of my upcoming travel/food adventures!

STORYLINE:
A high-speed express train connecting Beijing and Olympic co-host city Tianjin will be put into service on August 1, a week before the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games.
The line would be the world's only one on which passenger trains could run at 350 kilometres per hour (220 miles per hour), according to the Chinese Ministry of Railways.
It would also be the first high-speed intercity rail line in China, the ministry said.
The railway was built at a total cost of 21.5 billion yuan (3.1 billion US dollars).
The train will depart from Beijing South Railway Station - a new passenger station also being put into use on August 1.
The new service would cut the 120-kilometre (750-mile) journey from the current 70 minutes to about 30 minutes.
Travel between Beijing and Tianjin is currently affected by road congestion and slow rail service.
There will be 10 trains of eight cars that can seat about 600 passengers. Each express train is made up of one first-class cabin, six second-class cabins and a dining car.
There would be 47 pairs of trains every day, with trains bound for Tianjin leaving at various intervals of 15, 20 and 30 minutes, from 6am to midnight.
The ticket prices for first and second class seats are 69 yuan (8.9 US dollars ) and 58 yuan ( 7.4 US dollars) respectively.
The Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Ministry of Railways, Wang Yongping, said security checks would be tightened up at Beijing South Railway station.
Concerns over security have been growing after an explosion on public transport in Kumming this month.

Normally, this is a great city car and meets all my day-to-day needs. Because the car has a DC Quick Charge port, it can also recharge in less than 30 minutes - but only where there are DC Chargers, usually in cities, but not out in the country.
The official range per charge on this car is 62 miles, and I typically get 50 miles at a steady 55 MPH.
More recent electric cars, including the Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model 3, now allow travel of hundreds of miles on a single charge.
This trip required me stopping three times to get the equivalent of two full charges (beyond the full charge I left my driveway with!) I charged at a hotel, a car dealership, and a campground at a state park.
I roughly planned my trip ahead of time by using which is a great way to find public charging stations.
I did Level 2 charging including using this EVSE at the camp-ground.
