HAUNTED Cobb Cemetery in the Florida Panhandle
I decide to check out an old, desolate cemetery in Baker, Florida. The Cobb Cemetery is supposedly haunted by Old Man Cobb as he is said to walk the cemetery grounds at 1am.
This place is located in a desolate area off of a side road in the Baker area. There are quite a few cemeteries off the road leading to the Cobb Cemetery, but this cemetery is located on a small, hidden road with no signage.
I must say, it is a pretty spooky place, even in the daytime. And I had this cold, awkward feeling the whole time I was there filming. I was also alone and worried about some backwoods local wanting to know why I was there filming. It contains old graves that date back to the late 1800's... Is Cobb Cemetery haunted? You decide...

Chasing ALCOs the NARM's Santa Train and North Star Limited
On December 1st, I went out with FanFan61618 to the Mercury & Chase, to catch a few of the trains that the NARM was running that day, as they were running two different ones: the NARM's Santa Train in the day and then the NARM's North Star Limited during the evening, with three runs of the former and two runs of the latter. Unfortunately, we got going a bit late and wound-up missing the first Santa Train train, so we went out and caught the second one that was running Higdon Road for the outbound trip, and then again at Chase Road on their inbound trip. After that, we heard an approaching coal train heading through downtown Huntsville, so we went over to Moores Mill Road to catch it, though it caused us to miss the outbound trip for the third (and final) NARM Santa Train for the day. We did, however, set up along Chase Road near the Huntsville Drone Club to record the inbound train, though I personally would've prefered getting that shot for the outbound train. Later on in the evening, the NARM was running their North Star Express, which is the only train the NARM runs after dark all year, so we went out and chased that guy, catching him at Moores Mill Road, Oletimers Road, and then the private crossing east of Shields Road. Due to the fact that the NARM doesn't normally operate during the evening, the Madison County Sheriff's Office has a couple of off-duty officers go out in a couple of unmarked cars, and turn on the lights and move to block traffic when the train was approaching the public crossings. We probably would've chased the other run that evening, but a thunderstorm that was rolling in caused us to decide to head on home for the evening. Said thunderstorm can be easily seen in the last shot, where lightning lights-up the sky several times during the video.
The power for the run was a bit unexpected. On the western end of the train was NARM 484, an ALCO S-2 that they put back into service earlier this year with a deep, single-note Nathan horn on it. This guy was expected, but the locomotive that I wasn't quite expecting was NARM 8652, the North Alabama Railroad Museum's ex-US Army ALCO RSD-1! As far as I'm aware, this unit is the only operating RSD-1 in the US, east of the Mississippi. There is another RSD-1 in service at the Orange Empire Railway Museum in California, but other than that, the other surviving RSD-1s here are only on static display. However, the NARM doesn't like to use their RSD-1 very much, primarily due to the fact that, according to the Museum, it tears up the switches along the line when they use him. However, as NARM 213 was out of service at the time due to a bad journal bearing that had yet to be replaced, the NARM was having to use their RSD-1 for these runs. Also, interestingly enough, rather than installing a different horn on the locomotive, or even a Hancock Air Whistle, they opted to use the small, higher-pitched single-note horn that's already mounted on the locomotive's cab. All in all, it was a pretty fun chase of a railroad that I don't catch as often as I should.

Micanopy Florida
In 1539 Spanish conquistador and explorer Hernando De Soto noted a Timucuan Indian village at the site of present-day Micanopy. Over two hundred years later, the American naturalist William Bartram recorded his impressions of a proto-Seminole village named Cuscowilla in this same locale.
By the time Spain ceded its Florida provinces to the U.S. in 1821, the newly constructed hamlet of Micanopy became the first distinct United States town in the Florida Territory. One of the founders was Moses Elias Levy, a wealthy businessman and philanthropist who was involved in West Indies shipping and other interests. He came to the United States in 1820.[4]
Named after a Seminole chief, the village of Micanopy was built under the auspices of the Florida Association of New York (the earliest Florida development corporation, headquartered in Manhattan).[5] Chief Micanopy lived about 60 miles (97 km) south in present-day Sumter County. In 1821 when the territorial village was developed, a faction of Miccosukee Indians lived in the immediate area. The historian C. S. Monaco has suggested that the town was named after Micanopy to appease the chief and acknowledge his original authority over the land.[6]
Both Fort Defiance (1835–1836) and Fort Micanopy (1837–1843) were located here during the Second Seminole War. Some of the bloodiest battles of that war took place along the road southwest from Fort Micanopy to Fort Wacahoota, just inside modern Alachua County. A recent archaeological study has verified both forts as well as the location of two battlefields within the town limits: the Battle of Micanopy and the Battle of Welika Pond (1836).
Micanopy's historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, where she wrote The Yearling and Cross Creek, is in nearby Cross Creek. The house is now a museum.
For an article on Micanopy from the Florida Historical Society see:
Micanopy is located at 29°30′23″N 82°16′55″W.[7]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2). 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (4.63%) is water.
History Made Vivid: The Interior Museum at 80
With the Interior Museum’s 80th anniversary in March 2018 comes the opportunity to reflect upon its innovative origins. Interior Secretary Harold Ickes envisioned the museum playing a key role at the new Interior headquarters, and when it opened in the midst of the Great Depression, it was a truly novel addition for a federal office building. Interior Museum Chief Curator Tracy Baetz will explore how one wing of the headquarters was popularly transformed into history made vivid. Get a glimpse of how state-of-the art exhibition techniques of the 1930s achieved groundbreaking results that highlighted what was important to the Department in the interwar period.
Turpentine History at Bayard Conservation Area (Part Two)
Continuing with my exploration here in this wilderness known as Bayard Conservation Area I found more evidence from the turpentine industry. In the early 1900's the area had many turpentine camps. The pine trees would be tapped for resin and sap which was used in the production of making turpentine. Turpentine had an array of uses and the industry was wide spread across the southeast along with the logging industry. Adams Country Store in White Springs Is Occupied by Spirits - Great EVPs
LDL Paranormal was invited on 9/14/18 to the Adams Country Store by the Proprietors Brenda and Bill to do a Friday Night Investigation of their store. The store is located at 16536 Spring St White Springs, Florida. The building is owned by by Raymond Cheshire who, according to his Youtube video was a summer resident in his younger years of White Springs when he came to visit his grandfather for the summers. He seems to have had a real affection for the building and the store in his youth and decided to later on in life buy the building and restore it to its original state. The Building is incredibly well restored and has that absolute original look to it both inside and out. When you are inside you feel as if you are right back in 1865 when it opened as the Adams General Store. Clearly it was a focal point, and still is the entirety of downtown White Springs. Like many older businesses we have investigated, it has a lively history and it seems perhaps some of its employees, former owners or townspeople still occupy the store. Our vibe was one of warmth and friendly curiosity from at least one spirit that did something I never seen before: He followed me all the way through the store and stood right during the whole investigation right in front of me as you will see by the two EMF Detectors. The meters showed 3-5 indicator lights the entire investigation. There were lots of vocal references to many things that may have happened but the most compelling came at 25:51 when the owner, Brenda, asked to speak with her deceased son. The responses kind of chilled me at first but then I came to realize that they were genuine real time EVP's that came in from the white noise but needed no editing to understand. We thank Brenda and Bill for allowing us into their store and we hope to be back . Please visit the Store which is located at the corner of Route 41 and Bridge Street in White Springs Florida. It featured crafts and antiques from multiple sellers who have their areas to sell their goods. You can visit their Facebook page by going to this Link
Make sure to say hi to the spiritual residents Jeff, Matt, Mike and many more as well as the friendly owners Brenda and Bill.
