Membertou - Let's do business!
Membertou is a first nation community consisting of over 1050 people. The community was named after the Grand chief Membertou who lived from 1510-1611. Day to day our community is operated by our chief Terry Paul, 15 directors, general managers as well as members of the community.
Just a little over 15 years ago Membertou was a poor community with high unemployment rate, Chief Terry Paul decided it was time for a major change. Now looking at Membertou in 2012 we can see the success that has taken place. With all the business openings in the community there are many more employment opportunities.
(Now let's take a look at some of the great strides Membertou has made over the past several years)
Why should you do business with Membertou?
Membertou is a community that has grown to be very successful in the last 15 years. The 3 key factors that stand out are: intention, leadership, and the nation's history of human capital development.
The community has pursued an aggressive strategy towards economic sustainability and are in need for business support.
The Membertou corporate division is committed to enhancing the business relationships between Membertou first nation and the Canadian as well as international business community.
