Garden of Heaven! - Minterne House, Dorset
This magical English garden is reputed to be one of the most beautiful in the nation. It is set in the grounds of Minterne House which stands in the tiny Dorset village of Minterne Magna, near Cerne Abbas, and is open to the public for much of the year. The images show the garden at the height of spring, and clearly express the calmness and serenity of this extraordinary place. A truly spiritual experience and a must see for all lovers of proper gardens! The poet Robert Browning might well have been thinking of Minterne when he famously wrote: Oh, to be in England now that April's there.

Early Autumn Meditation on an English Forest
Going a bit abstract and hippy here but nothing beats British woodland at this time of year. The Autumnal colours are emerging, the winds bring life and movement and the light is beguilingly defused. This short clip was taken in a forest on the South Downs, an hour or so from central London. The trees are mainly Beech (I think) and you can hear the Beech nuts falling as the strong breeze shakes them loose.
