Monumento a La Toma Del Tren - Santa Clara - Cuba
The Tren Blindado (Spanish for armoured train) is a national monument, memorial park, and museum of the Cuban Revolution, located in the city of Santa Clara, Cuba. It was created in memory of the events of 29 December 1958, during the Battle of Santa Clara, by the Cuban sculptor José Delarra.
The memorial is located on the Avenica Liberación in the Begonchea ward, just after the depot of Santa Clara station, nearby a level crossing. It lies between the Havana-Camagüey-Santiago rail line and the Cubanicay river. It consists of an open sculpture park, an obelisk dedicated to Che Guevara, and a monument to the bulldozer used by Guevara and his soldiers to derail the train. The derailed cars are used as the rooms of the museum.
The conquest of the train followed the conquest of the whole of Santa Clara. Due to this final victory, the city is still called the city of the heroic guerrillas. After Fidel Castrocaptured Santa Clara, Batista wanted to bring about a turning point in the battle and the war. In an attempt to defeat the revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro, he sent an armored train from Havana on 23 December 1958. The large train had two diesel locomotives and seventeen four-axle freight cars and personnel carriers of U.S. origin. The train carried 373 armed soldiers, ammunition, and provisions for two months.
The next day it reached Santa Clara and stopped at the foot of the Loma del Capiro hill. Three days later, on the current site of the memorial park, eighteen guerrillas under the command of Ernesto Che Guevara attacked the train. When the officers wanted to move the train to a better position, Guevara derailed the train by bulldozing 30 meters of track. After several hours of fierce combat, the guerrillas succeeded in capturing the weapons and ammunition. The officers were finally forced to surrender in the evening. Many of the rebels befriended and fraternized with the soldiers they were fighting only hours before.

Tren Blindado/Armored Train is national memorial located near the depot of Santa Clara station Cuba
Nowadays the Armored Train (Spanish: Tren Blindado) is a national memorial and museum located near the depot of Santa Clara station. The Battle of Santa Clara was a series of events in late December 1958 that led to the capture of the Cuban city of Santa Clara by revolutionaries under the command of Che Guevara. The battle was a decisive victory for the rebels fighting against the regime of General Fulgencio Batista: within 12 hours of the city's capture Batista fled Cuba and Fidel Castro's forces claimed overall victory. It features prominently on the back of the three convertible peso bill. Guevara's column travelled on 28 December 1958 from the coastal port of Caibarién along the road to the town of Camajuani, which lay between Caibarién and Santa Clara. Their journey was received by cheering crowds of peasants, and Caibarién's capture within a day reinforced the sense among the rebel fighters that overall victory was imminent. Government troops guarding the army garrison at Camajuani deserted their posts without incident, and Guevara's column proceeded to Santa Clara. They arrived at the city's university on the outskirts of the town at dusk. Guevara, who viewed the capture of the armored train as a priority, successfully mobilized the tractors of the school of Agronomy at the university to raise the rails of the railway. The train was therefore derailed as it transported troops away from the Capiro hill. The officers within tumbled out asking for a truce. At this, ordinary soldiers, whose morale was very low, began to fraternize with the rebels, saying that they were tired of fighting against their own people. Shortly afterwards the armored train was in the hands of the rebels and its 350 men and officers were transported as prisoners. The train contained a considerable amount of weaponry, a huge bonus to revolutionary forces, and it was to become a basis of further attack in the hands of both the rebels and supportive peasants. 26th of July Movement. Guevara himself described how the men were forced out by a volley of Molotov cocktails, causing the armored train to become a veritable oven for the soldiers.

Santa Clara, Cuba
This is a municipality and city in central Cuba located at the western foot of the Sierra del Escambray Mountains with a population of 244,000 (2015). The city is a traffic junction, university and agricultural centre.
The two main attractions in Santa Clara are the mausoleum of Che Guevara, whose bones were buried here in 1997, after it was repatriated from Bolivia, where Che was killed by Bolivian soldiers on the orders of the CIA in 1967, and the monument of the Tren Blindado. In the last December days of 1958 the Revolutionary Troops of Che Guevara fought here a decisive battle with the troops of dictator Fulgencio Batista, who had sent an armored train (Tren Blindado) to Santa Clara to support his troops. The train was stopped near the station of Santa Clara with a bulldozer, the load of weapons came into the hands of El Che and his men, and the victory of the Revolution was a fact. In the early hours of New Year's Day 1959 Batista fled the capital Havana, after Santiago de Cuba had also fallen. A few days later Che entered Havana with Camilo Cienfuegos, closely followed by Fidel Castro on 8 January 1959.
All this is also discussed in the presentation with images of a cigar factory. Here and in the mausoleum no pictures were allowed, but they were found on the internet.
