Port Douglas is a town on the Coral Sea in the tropical far north of Queensland, Australia. It's known for its beach resorts and as a base for visits to both the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest reef system, and Daintree National Park, home to biodiverse rainforest. In town, Macrossan Street is lined with boutique shops and restaurants. Curving south is popular Four Mile Beach.
Mossman Gorge is located in the southern part of Daintree National Park in Far North Queensland, Australia, 80 kilometres north of the regional town of Cairns and about five kilometres from the cane-farming town of Mossman.

Mossman Gorge
Far North Queensland, Mossman Gorge is a brilliant place and run by the local Indigenous Community and they do an awesome job.
This place is pristine with its flowing waters, rapids and waterfalls, together with incredible rain forest and some incredible walks and suspension bridges.
Swimming in this area you need to choose your days as at times this flows extremely fast where you could get into a lot of trouble. This day we swam was borderline and even though you can hardly see it, the water was flowing quite hard.
Please enjoy the walk and the views, including the fish in the Pools which are fully protected.
Mossman Gorge Experience in Queensland Australia
Mossman Gorge is a rural locality in the Shire of Douglas, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, Mossman Gorge had a population of 246 people.
The locality takes its name from the valley Mossman Gorge created by the Mossman River through the Daintree National Park to the west of the locality (in Syndicate and Shannonvale). The Mossman Gorge Centre is the gateway to the valley which is a tourist attraction with a suspension bridge providing access to a 2.4-kilometre (1.5 mi) loop walk through the rainforest of the National Park. It is part of the traditional homeland of the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people ( (Goo-goo Ya-lan-gee).

12. Mossman Riverside Leisure Centre - Mossman Qld
This caravan park video review is from Mossman. We based ourselves at the Mossman Riverside Leisure Park and from there we visited Port Douglas, Daintree, Cape Tribulation and other places within the region.
The park is basic, has reasonable amenities, good hosts and a big 50m Olympic size swimming pool. It rests beside the Mossman River in a safe position from any crocs.
It's an easy walk to town which we did to have dinner one night. The caravan park cost us $36pn plus $10 for the extra adult on a powered site.
The park is pet friendly.
