A Day Out in the Lake District, UK, on a Mountain Goat “10 Lake Spectacular” Bus Tour - March 2019
A Day Out in the Lake District on a Mountain Goat “10 Lake Spectacular” Bus Tour
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Lake District with Mountain Goat. Our driver was Elliot who picked us up at the Laura Ashley, Belsfield Hotel, Bowness-on-Windermere. Elliot seemed to have endless knowledge of the area and gave very interesting commentary.
Feel the atmosphere with this video and its panoramic views. This video includes snow covered mountain tops, valleys, lakes, mountain passes with steep drops, bumpy narrow twisty roads. There are miles of Dry Stone Walls, Farms, cottages, private hotels - previously used to escape city life in London, villages and town of Keswick and Herdwick Sheep.
We travelled out to the lakes and some of the views captured in this video are Troutbeck, Kirkstone Pass, Snow top mountains, Brothers Water, Ullswater (famous for when Donald Campbell broke water speed record in BlueBird K7), saw a Beatrix Potter Farm, walked around Castlerigg Stone Circle Neolithic Circle about 3000BC– overlooks Thirlmere Valley, High Mountain of High Seat & Helvellyn as a back drop, Took a lovely video of Surprise View – The whole of Derwent Water and distant Bassenthwaite Lake, Ashness Bridge - Pack Horse Bridge with Skiddaw in the distance 931m summit, we had afternoon tea at Keswick, Honister Pass, Slate Mine, Buttermere, Grasmere, Ambleside Bridge House – this house was built for 8 people, over the river to avoid paying tax. It`s now owned by the National Trust, and Lake Windermere.
This was our first tour with Mountain Goat Bus who started up in 1972 with 1 bus and now have a fleet. In my opinion our Mountain Goat 10 Lake Spectacular Tour was great value for money and I hope that we will be able to take another tour next time we are in the Lake District.
I`m a nervous passenger and normally drive myself - but I loved this tour.
Thank you for watching. ( I have a lovely group photo if any of the group would like to contact me)

The gateway to the Lake District! I arrived from London Euston via Virgin Trains to Penrith Station. For those arriving from London, this is the first stop where you'll meet your Rabbie's driver guide, the rest of the group and the bus that will be taking you around

Castlerigg Stone Circle
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Not that it's a competition but Castlerigg Stone Circle is even older than Stonehenge! Thought to have been constructed about 3000 BC, this is an atmospheric view whether it's raining, sunny or thundery! Or all three!

Larry's Lodge

I loved my stay at Larry's Lodge! It's a dog-friendly bed and breakfast with super friendly hosts. You can start with a traditional English fry-up in the morning for breakfast and the rooms are very comfortable! A home away from home. Rabbie's booked this for me as part of the accommodation but you can choose to book your own!

Aira Force Waterfall
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Beautiful waterfalls situated amongst the woodlands, Aira Force is part of the National Trust and is a sight to behold. Bring your best hiking/walking shoes as it can get slippery!

Windermere
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You can go on a boat ride, enjoy an ice cream or some good ol' British fish and chips (or in my case, cumberland sausage with tea). Beautiful sights, lots of hungry swans and a chance to relax by the water.

Grasmere Gingerbread

Created by Sarah Nelson in 1854, Grasmere gingerbread is known for producing some of the best gingerbread in the WORLD (they also make rum butter and mint cake)! It's also really good when you dip it in a nice cup of tea as you watch the British weather do its thing. Remember to bring cash!

The Lake District, England. Best driving routes.
Hi, I just had to share this video. Sorry this has been taken by mobile and it has only few clips. But in the end are the postcodes for 2 days. We stayed at Wigton, rented a caravan by the beach, thats why you'll see the pint 1 and the last point is from there. use the same route by typing these postcodes and you will have a very good drive through nature. We took many stops just for pictures and to cherish the mountains and lakes. You should try the gingerbread shop, and Daffodil Garden, there is also the grave of William Wordsworth and his family, the Castlerigg stone circle is in the center of many mountains and very picturesque. We had the place to our self in the evening. Motor boating, horse riding, Go karting were all very exciting too. We leave at 10am each day and be back by 5pm. we did a 3rd day journey too. The postcodes are CA12 5D2 Puzzling Place
CA12 5 DG ,30 A Lake Road
CA12 5XW Dale Head, Grasmoor
LA18 5LY Cumbrian Heavy Horse Ride
CA15 8NF Indoor Karting
LAKE DISTRICT: A Day Trip in Lakeland | Day 2 | Cumbria UK || Tinny's ESCAPES Vlog
Date: 2nd July 2017
This is a vlog for the second of our business trip in Cumbria.
(Vlog for the trip on Day 1:
Since our team finished the sites inspection for the business consultancy project in the town of Carlisle on the day before, we decided to follow the plan we discussed earlier before we came to Cumbria, which is visiting other towns such as Penrith, Kendal, Keswick, Workington and Whitehaven for gathering more information to support our recommendations for our client. Meanwhile, we were enjoying our trip in the Lake District, which is a mountainous region located in North West England, as well as a popular destination for holidays and hiking., as well as its National Park (was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017). It is quite famous for its lakes, forests and mountains (or fells). ;)
We were thinking to take a boat trip at Ullswater Steamers but we changed our mind at the end due to inconvenience. It was a great experience to travel to the Lake District with our own car. We went to the Newlands Valley (known as one of the most picturesque and quiet valleys in the Lake District National Park) and also travelled to different places in the national park. Afterwards, we stopped by Whitehaven to have our late lunch at a restaurant called Waterfront, before we headed back to Newcastle. The food there was so delicious with a reasonable price. =)

LAKE DISTRICT ROAD TRIP
From going on a 'death walk' over a valley to some of the best hiking in the UK, here are some amazing adventures you've just got to have in the Lake District, England.
I don’t know why but the Lake District has always evaded me on my tour of the UK. I know it’s got some of the best hikes and views around (which is usually enough for me!), but apart from that I didn’t know what else there was to do there.
Yes it’s got the hiking, but you can also do pretty much every water sport imaginable (I’m a little bit gutted I didn’t do any wakeboarding while I was in the Lakes), and the Via Ferrara Xtreme tour is one of the craziest climbing experiences I’ve ever had in my life.
If you’re looking for some amazing adventures to have in the Lake District then you can’t go wrong with any of these.
