A Museum of Elephant wood
carvings ม Sankampang, Chiang Mai.
Founded in 1985 by Mr. Phet Wiriya, who has a strong passion for the art of wood carving. He was a student of the greatest woodcarver in Lam Pang “Kum-ay DejDuangTa” who taught him about carving and suggested him to the beauty and meaningful spirit of Elephants.
After Phet finished learning with his teacher, he got a career in Bangkok to teach prisoner about wood carving. He later came back to his hometown and led a couple of his friends and students who also love and want to learn traditional Lanna Style woodcarving.
Phet started caved everything from earth to sky, animals, fruits and vegetables, Scenery, Human sculpture, etc. and finally the only thingห he love and happy to do was to carve elephant. He stopped everything and went to the zoo, elephant camp and everywhere that elephants live then took the pictures, sketched and drew the picture of elephants in many actions and postures. He also got a suggestion from a famous architect and art supporter, “Mr. Nidhi Satapitanond”, to the way to expressed himself into his work of arts.
On 1988, “Pra-yoon Janyawong” (1915), a famous columnist at that time, visited the house. He was very excited to see a lot of elephant woodcarvings by Phet and his students. He named the place “Baan Jang Nak “, which means a house full of elephants.

Hmong Hill Tribe Silver in Thailand
First up on my hill tribe tour of North Thailand with Green Trails is a homestay with Mr Sowme and his wife in the Hmong village of Mae Sa Mai. Mr Sowme was once Silver Smith to the Thai Royal Family, living and working at Chitralada Palace in Bangkok! Today Sowme runs a homestay and the Learning Center for Hmong Wisdom, where they teach both Hmong and tourists alike traditional tribal crafts such as batik, embroidery and silver making. Hmong people are well known from their stunning silver jewelry as well as their traditional dress with many fashion brands copying the ornate Xauv necklaces. Today Mr Sowme showed me the process of making my very own Hmong ring, from melting the raw silver to engraving the decorative details.

Chiang Mai - Wat Prathat Doi Supthep
There are over 300 wats or Buddhist temples in the Chiang Mai area ranging in various degrees of splendor. If there is one that is a must-see, it is Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. The name may be hard to remember but being there will create indelible memories of Buddhist splendor that to the Western mind is incomprehensible until seen.
If you thought that the cathedrals of Europe were ornate, wait till you see this.
We were blown away by our visit to one of Thailand's jewels - the extraordinary wats, meaning Buddhist temples, that are found in Chiang Mai and Bangkok.

The drive from Chiang Mai to Pai is truly a mad mad ting, I trip the fuck out up on that sexy Honda horse, and just completely forget everything but the road in front of me.
This is just a little vlog for fun - there'll be a full, off the charts Pai vlog on my next trip!
Big thanks to all the staff at Mr Mechanic (especially Ying for starring in the vlog) for their excellent service as always! :)

Sneaky Thai Mechanic on the Game
The sneaky Yontrakit mechanic is trying to sell second hand car parts as new parts. He claims that the Fuel Pumps are with Thai Customs and so thay take a long time, he also says that they do not come with any packaging!
The truth is he is sneaking in a second hand part into the car and trying to charge almost a thousand dollars for it!
Caught red-handed Mr Yindee has agreed that Ajarn Anusorn will supervise the investigation into pure corruption in the Yontrakit Group.
Like in other countries Thai mechanics have 108 tricks to squeeze money from people - be warned!
