Sagar Upvan| BPT Garden| Garden Plant| Unknown garden of Mumbai| By kokk
A green patch situated in the South Mumbai, Colaba, the Sagar Upvan is owned by the Mumbai Port Trust and maintained with the help of World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and is truly a nature lover's paradise! Spread over a 12 acres, this garden offers some beautiful sights of the Arabian Sea from one side of the garden.
Beautiful green garden, with sea facing benches, this garden takes you away from the outside world. There is a salty fresh fragrance in the air due to arabian sea. There are nicely arranged walking path for joggers as well as for visitors.
There are hundreds of plants in the garden with special sections on palm trees, medicinal plants, rock garden and cacti section. The bright green flouresentish leaves and purple flowers of duranta plant attract loads of butterflies. The coppersmith barbets, purple-rumped sunbirds and tailor-birds dominate the avian group, while striped squirrels fumble up and down the trees. Bustling garden lizards and skinks come in your way if you wander into the bushes, but if you sit down in one place and just observe, you will be treated to an array of life that lives within these garden limits.
What else? There is also a sewage recycling plant near the garden that was developed by the MPT management so that there would be no shortage of water supply in the area. Apart from recycling the sewage, the plant also ensures a regular supply of water to the garden.

A DAY ON MUMBAI DOCKS {SASSOON DOCKS)
Sassoon Docks is one of the oldest docks in Mumbai. It was the first wet dock constructed in 1875 in Bombay.[1] It is one of the few docks in the city open to the public.[2] It is situated in Mumbai harbor in South Mumbai area of Colaba. It is one of largest fish markets in the Mumbai city.[3][4] Its neighboring features are Mumbai Port Trust Garden (Sagar Upvan Colaba) and Offices of Fisheries Department, and it overlooks Oyster Rock, an island in the Mumbai harbour, at a distance.
Juhu Beach in the City of Dreams, Mumbai
Mumbai, previously known as Bombay, is the capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the commercial and entertainment capital of India. It is also one of the world's top ten centres of commerce in terms of global financial flow, generating 5% of India's GDP and accounting for 25% of industrial output, 70% of maritime trade in India (Mumbai Port Trust & JNPT), and 70% of capital transactions to India's economy. The city houses important financial institutions such as the Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay Stock Exchange, the National Stock Exchange of India, the SEBI and the corporate headquarters of numerous Indian companies and multinational corporations. It is also home to some of India's premier scientific and nuclear institutes like BARC, NPCL, IREL, TIFR, AERB, AECI, and the Department of Atomic Energy. The city also houses India's Hindi (Bollywood) and Marathi film and television industry. Mumbai's business opportunities, as well as its potential to offer a higher standard of living, attract migrants from all over India, making the city a melting pot of many communities and cultures.

Sassoon Dock | India का सब से पुराना फिश मार्केट | Mumbai Biggest Fish Market
Sassoon Docks is one of the oldest docks in Mumbai. first wet dock constructed in 1875 in Bombay. one of the few docks in the city open to the public. situated in Mumbai harbor in South Mumbai area of Culaba. one of largest fish markets in the Mumbai city. Its neighboring features are Mumbai Port Trust Garden (Sagar Upvan Colaba) and Offices of Fisheries Department and it overlooks Oyster Rock, an island in the Mumbai harbor,
Built in 1875 on reclaimed land, by the banking and mercantile company David Sassoon & Co., the docks were owned by Albert Abdullah David Sassoon (1818–1896), son of David Sassoon, a Baghdadi Jew and the leader of the Jewish community in Bombay. It was the first commercial wet dock in western India and helped establish the cotton trade. In 1879, Sassoon Docks and other associated foreshore properties were purchased by the government on behalf of Bombay Port Trust. The Sassoon Docks encouraged the Bombay Presidency to promote the construction of the large Prince's Dock. The Sassoon factories that produced silk and cotton goods in Bombay, also furnished employment for a large amount of native labor.
