Tahiti Dreams
A short film I had put together in Moorea and Tahiti, French Polynesia. 3 months we spent there and you'll witness breath taking moments with our encounters of sea life, wild sharks, rays, exotic fish swarms, and how we learn how to fish with with the locals and eat raw sushi fresh outta the ocean. Famous freehand Polynesian tattoos. Having fun, living life! I have a great track list selected perfectly for this fun film I made. We love Maharepa. Stay tuned for video 3.

I lost my crew & met my WIFE in Tahiti S2E19
Anna, Daly, and Linus sail offshore on the downwind run to Papeete, Tahiti on their last passage of the season. In Tahiti Captain Linus is met by his wife and daughter Janna who flew in from Louisiana.
Anna and Linus go through the North Pass of Fakarava atoll in the Tuamotos Archipelago of French Polynesia. Linus debates anchoring at Venus Point, mooring at Le Yacht Club de Tahiti, mooring or docking at Marina Taina in Punaauia Tahiti, or the Papeete Marina. They end up docking in the Papeete Marina.
Anna departs the boat and Linus picks up Sophie and Janna at PPT, the Papeete Airport after their trip is delayed. Linus struggles to find a bus in downtown Papeete near the Mairie de Pape'ete (town hall). He eventually gets a cab a the taxi stand near Jungle Coffee. Linus rents a car from EcoCar near the Tahiti Airport Hotel.
Janna, Sophie, and Linus go on several sight seeing trips. They visit Tahiti's southern coast in Mataiea, and see the waterfall and trails in the Vaipahi Water Gardens. They tour the Museum of Tahiti and the Islands (Musée de Tahiti et des Îles, Tahitian Te Fare Manaha) in Punaauia where they see the anchor from one of Captain Cook's ships. They tour the Arahurahu Marae in Paea which was the largest marae in Tahiti and the site of a Heiva dance celebration.

Driving the North Coast Road of Tahiti Iti, French Polynesia
After stopping at an oceanside viewpoint in Tautira, Mom and I continue driving westbound on the north coast road of Tahiti Iti, “Small Tahiti,” the eastern section of Tahiti Island. There was a small ancient Polynesian religious site called a “marae” at the viewpoint along with a nice view of some of the mountainous peaks of the interior.
We pass through a one-lane section of road that is controlled by a portable traffic signal 16 km (10 miles) from the main Tahiti Iti town of Taravao (close to where we’re staying). We pull onto a side road to walk to view 2 waterfalls.

Restaurant Paul Gauguin - Local specialties Tahiti Restaurant
Location
The restaurant and bar of the Gauguin Museum are located at Kilometer 50.5, in Papeari, on the lagoon side of the road. Papeari is around 33 miles from the capital of Papeete, on Tahiti's west coast.
The Restaurant
The restaurant enjoys fabulous views over Tahiti's peninsula and the Ovini motu (islet). It has a huge dining room that can host 400 people and is often used for banquets. Decorated in the local traditional way, with a Polynesian vegetal roof and bamboo walls, the hall regularly holds seminars and meetings. It also has a fine dance floor.
Polynesian and French Cuisine
Since 1968, the museum's restaurant serves a refined blend of Polynesian and French cuisine. The restaurant being so close to the sea, fresh seafood features highly on the menu. There are plenty of traditional fish dishes, but a special mention must be made of the local curried shrimps. Simply delicious. Other specialties include Juliette's lemon pie and coconut pie.
On Sundays, the restaurant organises a buffet of Ma'a Tahiti, traditional Polynesian dishes. A great opportunity to bring together culture and gastronomy.

Paul Gauguin - Restaurant de spécialitées locales Tahiti
Situation

LeMeridien Papeete Tahiti Overwater Bungalows
Le Meridian is a gorgeous resort. I stayed there for 4 nights at the end of a 12-night cruise on Princess in December 2011. The entrance driving up may not Wow you but the resort rooms and grounds are well maintained. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I loved the markets you can walk to for refreshments. We also walked to the near by museum of Tahiti and enjoyed the cultural displays. This is a great pick for pre or post trip to Tahiti for a cruise or island hopping.
