Muskoka Heritage Place July 1 2010 720P Train is on Track Huntsville Muskoka Ontario Canada
Muskoka Heritage Place has its train back on track with a one year absence due to G8 Summit Center construction. Overall the train has the same route but the Station has been moved to the other side of the tracks. Scenes of crowds local and tourists taking the ride. The Steamer was not on track today and that is my next shoot with steam and whistle present. Nice day and lots of happy people.......Musicians played a request.....Wreck of the Old 98 with fiddle.....very nice.

Huntsville Pioneer Village annual Halloween evening. Promoting a safe environment for families the Pioneer dwellings were lite up with audio and special effects complemented by Actor and Actress. The dueling pumpkins dropped at exactly the same milosecond. Pirates of Cann Lake and Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz chased by the evil monkee. First time for me and it was impressive with all the work that must go into this production.

Muskoka Heritage Place Portage Flyer 2011 version 2
Steam Locomotive that was an important part of the early development for tourism in Muskoka. This train would run between Pen Lake and Lake of Bays carrying passengers from one Steam Ship and on to an awaiting Steam ship. A 1940's video in brilliant colour shot by the Kodak family showing the Huntsville swingbridge in operation and Beautiful Bigwin Island during Glenn Miller Band swing era playing at the train station.

Portage Flyer Steam Train, Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada
The Huntsville and Lake of Bays Railway first started taking in 1904 and was the shortest commercial railway in the world. The reason why they called the Portage Flyer was that the little railway was transferring the passengers from the steamships on the Peninsula Lake to the Lake of Bays steamer. Today, the Portage Flyer now operate at Muskoka Heritage Place and the railway is about one kilometre from Rotary Station to Fairy Lake Station and back.

Annual Halloween displays and walkabout at the Huntsville Pioneer Museum. Weather changed for the better just before the 5pm start of this community event. Pioneer Homes are decorated with Actors and Actresses playing roles in themes of decorations. Lots of young kids with twin pumpkins falling on the exact instant.....Dorothy being chased by a evil monkey from the Wizard of Oz......and some Pirates making you work for your treasures.

RiverMill Park is completed and celebrated on July 01 2009 with a break in the weather and Birthday Cake for all musical inspiration Muskoka Concert Band. Mayor Claude Doughty introduces MP Minister of Industry Tony Clement and MPP Norm Miller. Ribbon is cut and 2010 will be a memorable year for Huntsville.
