Gastronomically Good Gaffs: Thai Kitchen, Frome, Somerset
This episode of Gastronomically Good Gaffs is a small Frome restaurant with limited opening times during the week. The Thai Kitchen offers a limited menu of 2 starters and 2 mains, on the day I went there was Som Tam for starters (the best I have had in the UK so far) and although it was on the menu for the evening I was unable to have the green curry, so my choice of main was something I first experienced in Thailand.
Access wise the initial step could be a deal breaker plus there is limited space inside. The owner told me a wheelchair user could enter through the rear doors, which allows level access but he also stated larger powered chairs may have an issue because of door width.

Hospital chefs say they've made the best veggie curry in all of England
Hospital chefs say they've made the best veggie curry in all of England. As part of a Food for All Hospital Catering Project, catering staff at the University Hospital Aintree in Liverpool, England sought the help of the Vegetarian Society and its Cordon Vert Cookery School training courses to develop a new vegetarian curry. The chefs are now confident that the dish, which contains baby corn, snap peas, mushrooms, and red peppers is the best in the country. In fact, its popularity has become so widespread that it has been added to the menus of patients and visitors alike. Hospital catering manager Sandra Higgins remarked, It's a very healthy dish, packed full of vitamins and we're really grateful to the Vegetarian Society for helping us to develop such a great meal. This helps ensure that patients get tasty, nourishing food to keep their strength up and aid in their recovery from treatment.
Bravo, chefs and staff of University Hospital Aintree and our appreciation, Vegetarian Society for what sounds like an incredible veg dish! May many other facilities be similarly inspired to create such sumptuous plant-based fare for its delicious and health- restoring benefits to all.

Andy's Gastronomically Good Gaffs: Simply Thai, Gloucester Road, Bristol
Here's an episode of Gastronomically Good Gaff's with a visit to Simply Thai, in Bristol. I would class this a CAFE rather than a restaurant. Quaintly decorated with old style wooden tables and chairs, the owners are elder Thais.
The food is traditional and tasty however the prices are Western. A somtam dish is £8, whereas in country it would be about £1.50.
If I go again I would try the other dishes because the one's I chose weren't spectacular.

Currency
Britain’s currency is the pound sterling (£), which is divided into 100 pence (p).
Scotland has its own pound sterling notes. These represent the same value as an English note and can be used elsewhere in Britain. The Scottish £1 note is not accepted outside Scotland.
There are lots of bureaux de change in Britain – often located inside:
• banks
• travel agents
• Post Offices
• airports
• major train stations.
It's worth shopping around to get the best deal and remember to ask how much commission is charged.

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK
Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:
If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.
If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.
Anyone that has any questions, please feel free the comment below and I will answer them for you.

Thai Festival - Warwick July 2013
My video of the sights, sounds and gorgeous smells of the annual Thai Festival held in Warwick yesterday. It was a change to be at an outdoor event in England with the sun blaring down on everyone! A lovely family event and a deservedly big attendance. The foods on sale were simply heavenly, as you can gather from the video and as I can testify from having consumed a large quantity! What a wonderfully friendly people the Thai people are.
