NYC SKYLINE | a trip on the NY Waterway Ferry
Here’s a view of a portion of my recent trip on the NY Waterway Ferry from Port Imperial in Weehawken, NJ to the Wall Street port in New York City. It was a glorious day in the sun and on the water with my cool, hip, talented and camera shy Peggy ;) Enjoy!

Hudson River Waterfront Walkway at Port Imperial, Weehawken, New Jersey
Views from the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway at Port Imperial, Weehawken, New Jersey. I had just taken the ferry from New York Waterway's 39th Street ferry terminal in Manhattan after visiting several ships (visible in this video) that were in port for Fleet Week and Operation Sail: the USS Wasp (LHD 1), the U.S. Coast Guard barque Eagle, the ARC Gloria (Colombia), and the BAE Guayas (Ecuador). The cruise ship Disney Magic was berthed at Pier 88, and sailed shortly after I shot this video.
NJ Transit's Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line offers fast and frequent service to Port Imperial, and ferries run back and forth between Port Imperial and Manhattan throughout the day. Thanks to the walkway, it now is possible to walk south along the Hudson River to Hoboken and Jersey City from this point, with terrific views of the river and the Manhattan skyline all along the way. The Empire State Building and One World Trade Center, under construction at this date, are just two of the prominent landmarks clearly visible from the New Jersey waterfront.

Here's what it looks like from the back of the upper deck of the Thomas Jefferson ferry. It's the best place to ride on the boat. You get a beautiful view of the NJ cliffs and the city, as well as the river traffic.
Enjoy!
On board a New York Waterway ferry from Manhattan to Weehawken, NJ (part 2)
In the second part of a two-part video, we enjoy views of the Manhattan skyline and ships along the New York City waterfront, as well as various river craft on the water, as we cross the Hudson River aboard a New York Waterway ferry.
I had just visited several ships that were docked at Piers 92 and 86 as part of the Fleet Week and Operation Sail festivities over the Memorial Day weekend. Seen in this clip are the ARC Gloria (Colombia), USCGC Eagle (WIX-327), the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80), and the USS Wasp (LHD 1)
I also had an excellent view of the cruise ship Disney Magic as she prepared to depart from Pier 88 on a cruise to Florida and the Bahamas.
The small ship passing aft of the ferry and heading south down the Hudson is the sludge vessel Red Hook, operated by the New York Department of Environmental Protection. She a familiar sight in New York waters.

New Jersey/New York Vlog #1: Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel
I forgot to say Harbor.
And note that the bus system was running into midnight.
I visited Hoboken, Weehawken, and NY. These cities are 10 to 15 away from each other. I love these cities. I really love Hoboken and downtown NY equally. I could really see myself having a condo in downtown NY, and having a house in Hoboken. Downtown NY is fast paced and Hoboken is that small town that you think about in a fairy tale.
The best part is they are minutes away from each other and you can experience both big city and small town easily and effortlessly.
Sheraton Harbor Lincoln hotel is a place I will want to stay at every time I'm in this area. IT'S AMAZING. Jack Austin is amazing.
Thank you to my family reunion for the great time and hotel spot.

New York, New York - Ferries on a frozen Hudson River HD (2015)
NY Waterway, or New York Waterway, is a private transportation company running ferry and bus service in the Port of New York and New Jersey and in the Hudson Valley. While operations and much marketing come under the NY Waterway logo, the company works with other private companies and in public-private partnership with agencies such as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New Jersey Transit, New York City Department of Transportation, and Metropolitan Transportation Authority, to provide service and maintain docking facilities. In 2009, the fleet included 33 boats, 15 of which are operated by the company for its associate Billybey Ferry.
NY Waterway uses ferry slips at four terminals in Manhattan as well as terminals and slips in Jersey City, Hoboken, Weehawken, and Edgewater, all located along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, and at landings on the East River in Brooklyn and Long Island City. Commuter peak service is also provided on the Haverstraw–Ossining Ferry, Newburgh–Beacon Ferry, and to the Raritan Bayshore. Excursions and sightseeing trips include those to Yankee Stadium, Gateway National Recreation Area, and Governors Island.

Commuter Misery After Most Ferries to N.Y. Pulled Over Safety IssuesI've never seen this particular line this bad, a man said. The fleet between New Jersey and New York City carries 32,000 riders daily.Commuters trying to reach New York City by boat on Monday morning encountered long lines and delays after the United States Coast Guard found safety problems with more than 20 ferries that ply the Hudson River and sidelined them. The Coast Guard said on Sunday that it had found 23 ferries operated by New York Waterway unfit for service and ordered that they be taken out of service for repairs. The Coast Guard said the problems did not represent a safety risk to riders. The suspended boats comprised more than two-thirds of the fleet of Waterway, which is the dominant operator of commuter ferries between New Jersey and New York City.On Sunday evening, Waterway, which says it carries 32,000 riders daily, announced on its website that service would be reduced on several of its routes. Its boats from Weehawken, N.J., to West 39th Street in Manhattan were running every 20 minutes instead of every 10 minutes, creating longer than usual waits Monday morning. At 8:56 a.m., lines for the 9 a.m. ferry to Midtown Manhattan stretched down from the platform and back to the entrance of the Port Imperial terminal in Weehawken. Commuters, some holding electric scooters or bicycles, checked their phones anxiously. Among those appearing worried about the delay was Ken Boyar, 61, an accountant who had scheduled a meeting in a client's office in Manhattan. It feels like I got up particularly early to make an earlier boat and that's all going down the tubes, he said.Mr. Boyar added that he was worried he might not make the boat because of the crowd.I've never seen this particular line thi
