Nazrul Tirtha in New Town, Kolkata
Nazrul Tirtha (Nazrul Pilgrimage) is a cultural and educational center dedicated to the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.The center is situated at Action Area 1, New Town (few meters away from Rabindra Tirtha). West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the center on 24 May 2014 to mark the occasion of the 115th birth anniversary of the poet.
From August 2015, the center started screening films and in November 2015 became a venue for the Kolkata International Film Festival. Nazrul Tirtha also hosts art exhibitions.

A well-organized Museum displaying the time and life of Kazi Nazrul Islam, open Theatre, conference halls, Guest rooms, cinema halls,exhibition halls etc. are special features. Longest Cable–Stayed Bridge In India - Second Hooghly Bridge or Vidyasagar Setu At Calcutta
Second Hooghly Bridge, Vidyasagar Setu, Calcutta, West Bengal, India:- Vidyasagar Setu which is popularly known as Second Hooghly Bridge over the River Ganges at Calcutta (Kolkata) West Bengal is the lognest cable-stayed bridge in India.
The Total length of the Vidyasagar Setu is 2700 feet or 823 meters. The longest span is 457 meter or 1499 meter. This bridge has two pylons. Second Hooghly Bridge or Vidyasagar Setu was completed in the year 1992. It connects tow cities namely Calcutta (Kolkata ) and Howrah. It was the second bridge to be built across the Hooghly River; the first, the Howrah Bridge (also known as Rabindra Setu) 3.7 kilometres (2.3 mi) to the north, was completed in 1943. This bridge was named after the educationist reformer Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar.

New Town is a fast-growing planned satellite city of North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a part of the area covered by New Town Kolkata Development Authority NKDA. This new information technology and residential hub is being developed on the north-eastern fringes of Kolkata. The area mainly consisted of huge acres of cultivable lands and water bodies, which have been acquired and developed in a planned manner. The process of investing in residential and industrial facilities and infrastructural development of the area has mainly started under the leadership of the then Chief Minister of West Bengal Jyoti Basu in the late 1990s. The master plan envisions a township which is at least three times bigger than the neighbouring planned Salt Lake City. The New Town (Rajarhat) has been also declared as a Solar City by the previous UPA government at the Centre and now the initiatives are being taken to declare this city as Smart Green City, a dream project of Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India) with the help of Government of West Bengal according to a proposal submitted by Mamata Banerjee (Chief Minister of West Bengal.The New Town Kolkata was enabled with 10.5 km of Wi-Fi Zone connecting the Main Arterial Road to the airport to Sector V, which also make it India's first Wi-Fi road connectivity. The stretch has already been declared as a green corridor.
