Come to this beautiful, romantic mountain retreat right on crystal clear Nanatahala Lake. You will find yourself high in the treetops, watching the pines swaying in the wind, the Sourwood leaves turning red, and the lake below sparkling with sun. In winter, the mountain tops across the lake will shimmer with frost.
This is a perfect romantic get-a-way. Wake in the morning to the sun coming over the mountains shining across the lake. In fall, reds and yellows against the dark green on the mountainsides or right outside the window engulf you with the wonder of fall. In summer, be engulfed by Appalachian lushness. Sometimes the Smokey Mountain mist creates shining wonders before your eyes. Cook your favorite gourmet meals in our kitchen in full view of the lake. Basking in the dappled sun on the deck is always wonderful.
At night, build a fire and sink into comfort with a glass of wine or your favorite tea while moonlight plays on the mountains across the lake. Try some candlelight while soaking in our double-sized oval tub. Or simply sink into the private spa on the lower deck and watch the stars.
Take a swim in the clear waters below. Use our canoe or two kayaks or launch your own boat nearby and tie up at our dock. Spend evenings on the dock, gazing at the stars in the clear mountain air. Feel the gratitude of just being alive.
Stroll down our scenic, peaceful neighborhood lane, take a loop hike through the woods on primative roads or take the nearby hikes on the Appalachian Trail to Wayha, Wesser or Siler Balds. Watch the birds, try your luck in the nearby award-winning trout stream or right off the dock, explore one of the many bike routes or visit the famous Nantahala Outdoor Center for rafting, kayaking, biking and delicious food.
Smokey Mountain National Park invites you just an hour away, or you can visit the famous Biltmore House in Asheville. Take a scenic ride on the historic railway or try panning for gems. Do you like music? Vist Dolly Partan's village or attend free Friday night concerts at John Campbell Folk School and local bluegrass jammers nearby. On the other hand, just sitting on the deck in the tree tops gazing at the lake might be just the peace and solitude you need.
Come treat yourself and let us welcome you to our new home. We think there is no place more beautiful! We hope you will agree.

Nantahala National Forest | A Peaceful Retreat on Wolf Lake
For More Camping/Travel Videos:
A mini edit of our time camping on Wolf Lake in the Nantahala National Forest, NC. We paddled into a remote campsite for the evening & spent the day exploring the lake and the stream that empties into it. It's a short but rewarding paddle to the campsite & a small enough lake that you can explore every inch of it.

Welcome to Arrowhead Point and Lake Nantahala located 19 miles west of Franklin, the Western North Carolina retreat that will literally take your breath away.
This pristine lake, second highest east of the Mississippi, surrounded by mostly unspoiled, lush mountains and fed by the Nantahala river is the most peaceful existence to be found in Western North Carolina.
A gated community with paved roads, views, lake front property or lake access with boat slips and privacy.
Take the tram to your boat slip for an outing on the lake, hike the trails down by the trout pond or fish and relax from your dock.
Buy or build a rustic but elegant home at Arrowhead Point. Architecturally designed timber frame homes are available and customized specifically for certain lots that fit with the landscape.
Enjoy nature at its best in all four seasons with the bright green foliage, wildlife giving birth to new off springs and sweet smells of wildflowers in the spring and summer.
Autumn's cinema brings color to the mountains with the leaves changing and golden rod blooming.
The chill in the air and wood smells from fireplaces is a sign that fall is in the air.
Just listen to the tree frogs croaking and squirrels scampering to store food for the winter.
The sun is setting high in the sky and casting shadows that define each massive mountain. Soon the trees will be glistening in the sun after a frosty night.
This lovely mountain lake community was created by Martha and Emory Crawford, owners and developers, a community that offers the peace and tranquility that most people will only dream about.
Lake Nantahala the best kept secret in Western North Carolina just waiting to be your playground.

Panther Top Lookout Tower - Nantahala National Forest, NC
This was my third lookout tower on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and was a substantial upgrade from Joanna Bald earlier. Panther Top is in the distant southwest corner of the state south of Hiwassee Lake and west of Murphy. A short 0.75-mile walk up the gated FR 85 leads to Panther Top. The 30-foot lookout tower was built in 1940 and was in very good condition. Even though the top cab was locked, the view from the stairs was excellent. Ironically, Panther Top is the lowest elevation mountain on the lookout tower challenge at 2,293 feet, despite being the furthest west. To the north across the lake are the Unicoi Mountains. The Valley River Valley to the northeast is encompassed by the Snowbird Mountains to the north and the Valley River/Tusquitee Mountains to the south. You can see the peaks of Georgia south beyond the Hiwassee Valley, including Rabun Bald and Brasstown Bald. Definitely a worthwhile quick stop if you are in the area.
I referred to the lake in the video as Persimmon Lake, which is listed on the USGS quad but is only a finger of the larger Hiwassee Lake. The conical peak in the distance I refer to as Standing Indian may be that, or may be Rabun Bald. I'm not sure, it was easily 30+ miles to the southeast.
