Day Trip to Nara, Japan - 奈良 日帰り
Join Thuong and I on our day trip adventure from Nagoya to Nara.
Nara is located in between Osaka, Kyoto and Nagoya, so it's a great destination for a day trip from any of these cities. It is a beautiful city with lots of history, temples, stunning nature, and delicious food. Oh, and don't forget about the giant Buddha statue at Toudaiji Temple.

Nara - Japan
Nara is the capital city of Nara Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. The city occupies the northern part of Nara Prefecture, directly bordering Kyoto Prefecture. Eight temples, shrines and ruins in Nara, specifically Tōdai-ji, Saidai-ji, Kōfuku-ji, Kasuga Shrine, Gangō-ji, Yakushi-ji, Tōshōdai-ji and the Heijō Palace remains, together with Kasugayama Primeval Forest, collectively form Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. French Rakugo performer Cyril Coppini completes his journey through Nara at the Nara Visitor Center & Inn in Nara City. Nara Park （奈良公園） and Vicinity, Nara City
Nara Park （奈良公園）, located about twenty minute walk from JR Nara Station. This is where most of the Nara's famous visitor attractions are located, such as Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Grand Shrine. There is also a bus that takes tourists around Nara Park, stopping at various touristy locations. But walking in Nara Park is always fun. Enjoy.

Constructed in 1916 and restored in 1994, Ukimido is a hexagonal gazebo pavilion built over the waters of the Sagi-ike Pond.
Ukimido uses hiwadabuki construction methods; bamboo nails to secure Japanese cypress wood and bark shingles to the roof. Built to appear as if is floating on the Sagi-ike Pond, Ukimido is just a 10 minute walk from Todaiji Temple and is a rest and beauty spot for locals and travelers alike
It is illuminated in summer evening and row boats or paddle boats are available to rent, pond side.
Surrounded by pink sakura blossoms in the spring, vibrant greenery in the summer, fiery autumn colors in the fall and coated with light snow in the winter Ukimido is quite possibly Nara Park's most scenic locale.

DAY TRIP TO NARA TO SEE THE FAMOUS NARA DEER USING JR PASS! | Backpacking Japan Vlog 5
A Day Trip to Nara from the nearby Cities of Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe is a very popular day trip to do. It's easy to get to and is included on your JR Pass if you have one.
Nara Train Station is in the Centre of the City and just a short walk from Nara Park which is where I spent my day in Nara.
Nara Park is huge and it's filled with Temples and lots of Deer.
The Temples all have entry fee's in Nara and the most popular Temple in Nara is Todaiji Temple as it is home to a big Buddha statue.
The best way to enjoy Nara is to walk around aimlessly and see what you find like I did. There's also lots of Street Food and Sweet Treats on sale in Nara Park and just outside in the City when heading to and from Nara Train Station.
Ultimately Nara is a great place to spend a day or a few hours in Nature on a day trip from one of the bigger nearby cities.
