Kizhi Pogost (Russia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Kizhi Pogost in Russia.
In the untouched landscape of Karelia in Russia is the island of Kizhi on Lake Onega. In 1951 an open air museum of Old Russian wooden architecture was built here. Since then many visitors have travelled to the island by boat between May and September as the other months are freezing with the winter cold. The main attraction looks like something out of a fairy-tale. Two huge wooden churches, one for summer, one for winter. The Transfiguration Of Our Lord Church is the larger one, built for the summer. The Maria Protection Church is the smaller, with heating and well equipped for winter. The gem of this space is the Iconastasis preserved in all of its colourful splendour and with the typical motifs of the Russian Orthodox church. The national chapel of Archangel Michael was brought here in 1961 from the village of Lelikozero. It looks like a rectangular log cabin and above the entrance is a small belfry with a pyramid-shaped hut and, at the rear, a double-tiered roof. There are many timber buildings within the world famous ensemble of Kizhi, that contains the largest wooden churches in Russia.

The Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , or, in short, the Karelian ASSR , sometimes referred to as Soviet Karelia or simply Karelia was an autonomous republic of the Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, with the capital in Petrozavodsk. The Karelian ASSR was formed as a part of the Russian SFSR by the Resolution of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of June 27, 1923 and by the Decree of the VTsIK and the Council of People's Commissars of July 25, 1923 from the Karelian Labor Commune. In 1927, the ASSR was divided into districts, which replaced the old volosts. From 1940 to 1956, territory annexed from Finland was incorporated with the previous Karelian Autonomous Republic to form the Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic, which had the status of a union republic in the federal structure of the Soviet Union.

The Finnish Supreme headquarters ordered the foundation of an armoured division on 28 June 1942 and the actual foundation was on 30 June 1942. The division consisted of the newly formed Armoured Brigade and the old (1st) Jaeger Brigade. The Cavalry Brigade was also part of the division until January 1943. The division artillery consisted of the 14th Heavy Artillery Battalion. The division commander was Major General Ruben Lagus. During most of the war, the division was located at Petrozavodsk, but in the spring of 1944 it was moved to the Karelian Isthmus to form the reserve of the headquarters.
The Armoured Division fought in the crucial battles of 1944 and helped to contain the Soviet offensive.
The 75 years anniversary took place on 28.6. with parade, march past, inspection of troops and both modern and war time armored and motorized equipment parading past the audience and honored guests.
Panssaridivisioona 75 vuotta -tapahtuma on osa Hattulan kunnan ja Panssariprikaatin Suomi 100 -juhlallisuuksia Panssariprikaatissa Parolannummella 28.6.2017. Tapahtumassa on mukana myös kokonaisturvallisuuden juhlahanke NUKU RAUHASSA.
Panssariprikaati juhlii perinteisesti vuosipäiväänsä 28.6. Kyseisenä päivänä Äänislinnassa vuonna 1942 perustettiin Panssaridivisioona, jolla oli ratkaiseva rooli kesän 1944 torjuntataistelussa nykyaikaisimpana ja iskukykyisimpänä joukkonamme. Tästä joukosta sai alkunsa nykyinen Panssariprikaati.

Trinidad found in the traditional market. I hear things resemble us rustic rural marketplaces. Inside the market there are a variety of vegetables and fruits that can be seen only in tropical climates. But the vegetables, no fruits What is? Carambola I cut a star shape is unique. So called star fruit. I met with sharks in the fish market. If our money is a one thousand won it five sharks. The meeting of the Caribbean Sea lie in the market is rather awkward.

Kizhi island

SUMMARY
=======
The Eastern Front of World War II was a theatre of conflict between the European Axis powers and co-belligerent Finland against the Soviet Union (U.S.S.R.), Poland and other Allies, which encompassed Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Northeast Europe (Baltics), and Southeast Europe (Balkans) from 22 June 1941 to 9 May 1945. It has been known as the Great Patriotic War (Russian: ru:Великая Отечественная война, Velikaya Otechestvennaya Voyna) in the former Soviet Union and modern Russia, while in Germany it was called the Eastern Front (German: die Ostfront), or the German-Soviet War by outside parties. The battles on the Eastern Front of the Second World War constituted the largest military confrontation in history. They were characterized by unprecedented ferocity, wholesale destruction, mass deportations, and immense loss of life due to combat, starvation, exposure, disease, and massacres. The Eastern Front, as the site of nearly all extermination camps, death marches, ghettos, and the majority of pogroms, was central to the Holocaust. Of the estimated 70 million deaths attributed to World War II, over 30 million, the majority of them civilian, occurred on the Eastern Front. The Eastern Front was decisive in determining the outcome in the European theatre of operations in World War II, eventually serving as the main reason for the defeat of Nazi Germany and the Axis nations. The two principal belligerent powers were Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, along with their respective allies. Though never engaged in military action in the Eastern Front, the United States and the United Kingdom both provided substantial material aid in the form of the Lend-Lease to the Soviet Union. The joint German–Finnish operations across the northernmost Finnish–Soviet border and in the Murmansk region are considered part of the Eastern Front. In addition, the Soviet–Finnish Continuation War may also be considered the northern flank of the Eastern Front.
