We have fishing reels screaming in this fishing episode! We are catching cero mackerel and in this South Florida Fishing Episode Heiko Winkler will show you how to catch fish and how to smoke fish!
We start this fishing epsidoe by catching bait off my dock. I had my mind set that we will catch king mackerel in this fishing episode but to my surprise we end up catching an even better fish to smoke. The Cero Mackerel!
This fishing episode takes place off the reefs edge out of Key Largo in the Florida keys. We want to film a catch and cook and get exactly what we wanted. Even better, we film a catch and smoke. And I show you how to do it all.
You will see how to smoke fish. In this case the smoked fish is a cero mackerel. And those mackerel make our fishing reels go screaming! Screaming for an epic catch n cook!
The smoked fish can be eaten just plain as I do during the catch and cook part but in a future fishing episode we will also make smoked fish dip with the smoked fish!
I love to smoke fish with cero mackerel, it's one of the best! And we are screaming with joy during this catch n cook. I hope you learned how to smoke fish from this fishing episode! What a great day in Florida!
I hope you enjoyed this Fishing episode on the South Florida Fishing Channel where we have our fishing reels screaming and I show you how to smoke fish and how to catch the fish we cook. We are fishing out of Key Largo, Florida. Please leave a like and comment to show your support. Thank you!

Sight Casting Redfish, Breathe Like A Fish, Skinny water, Florida Indian River Lagoon
Pretty slow morning. Took a bit for the fish to come in and become active. On my way back after on pass I located this beauty with his back out of the water and tail just slowing cruising on the shallow grass. Made one cast. Waited for him to get close and then made my bait presentation and well you can see what happened after that! Hope you enjoy and as always sorry for my crazy excitement!

Almost Got One! - Florida Fish Hunter
As we all know, when it comes to fishing, its a hit or miss situation although for me it has recently been mostly a miss... In this outing things got interesting when we hit upon a school of feeding tarpon. We came to the realization after numerous failed attempts with an assortment of lures that we needed live bait in order to catch these fish which obviously we did not have. Sadly we called it an early day to beat the midday rise of the approaching afternoon heat. Hopefully we will be better prepared for the next possible tarpon encounter...

In this catch n cook:
My friend Randolph and his son Hans are driving down in Florida and meeting me in Key Largo to do some snapper fishing! We put the boat in at John Pennekamp state park which is located in Key Largo and provides quick boating access to the Florida Keys patch reefs.
If you know the South Florida Fishing Channel, then you know Heiko Winkler loves to do some patch reef fishing. On the Key Largo patch reefs you can find mangrove snapper, mutton snapper, yellowtail snapper and a variety of great fish that make for some awesome catch clean cook fishing episodes!
Through this fishing trip I add tips that I use on how to catch snapper. I use these how to catch snapper tips for any species of snapper. You may catch monster mangrove snapper or monster mutton snapper using these fishing tips in key largo. These fishing tips will probably work on any patch reef in the Florida Keys.
I just moved back to Key Largo so my cooking equipment is a little limited so the catch and cook part of this how to video is on a propane burner. Also the cleaning part of the snapper. The catch clean cook is done on the boat.
The mangrove snapper I catch on the patch reef is 22 inches long. I consider any mangrove snapper over 20 inches a monster. One time I caught a mangrove snapper that was 24 inches while night fishing the florida keys patch reefs. That was a monster mangrove snapper alright! I'll never forget that night of fishing.
We also do a little offshore fishing off of the patch reefs. But we always stick to bottom fishing. We didn't do any trolling for fish, but we did drift the bottom with live baits and picked up a kingfish. That is actually also how we caught the mutton snapper. Now it wasn't a monster mutton snapper but it was still a great fish so congratulations Hans for catching that fish! I hope your catch and cook was killer!
I will keep improving my snapper fishing skills and will work on a better video on how to catch mutton snapper. All the yellowtail snapper we caught were not monsters BUT in the video I am upload saturday we catch some nice yellowtail snapper!
I hope you enjoyed this How to Catch MONSTER Snapper on Florida Keys Patch Reefs | Catch and Cook fishing episode on the South Florida Fishing Channel. Please leave a like and comment to show your support. Thank you!

Florida Travel: Experience the Florida Keys in 60 Seconds
What's there to do on a 120-mile string of tropical islands bracketed by the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico? Well, this is the sportfishing capital of the world, a boating capital, a scuba diving capital, a seafood capital. There is Hemingway and Duval Street and Mallory Square. There are coral reefs and Key deer. There are enticing names: Key Largo, Marathon, Islamorada and Key West. There is camping and stargazing and snorkeling. There is key lime pie for dessert. These are the Florida Keys.
