Iguazu Falls - City Video Guide
Iguazú Falls is almost 2 miles wide and is not one, but an astonishing 275 waterfalls. Eighty percent of the falls lies in Argentina and twenty percent in Brazil, which is why the falls has two names: ‘Iguazú’ in Spanish and ‘Iguaçu’ in Portuguese.
Follow the boardwalk trail through the jungle and stand on viewing platforms over the falls. Feel humbled by the power of the tumbling water mass below you. In the wet season, 450,000 cubic feet thunders over the combined falls each second!
Enjoy a more serene frontal view of the falls from the viewing points in Brazil. From here, the river seems to drape itself over the edge like a curtain.
Take a journey beneath the falls on a speedboat safari. If you’d rather stay dry, take a helicopter ride over the U-shaped series of falls to see how it forms a dramatic chasm in the earth’s surface.
Getting to Iguazú Falls is easy: there are nearby airports in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. You can even stay the night in the national park.
Though it may not be the tallest, largest or most powerful waterfall in the world, Iguazú Falls is certainly one of the most picturesque.

Iguazu Falls is located at the junction of three nations: Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. These “Great Waters,” as named by the indigenous Guarani people, are made up of 275 waterfalls that span nearly 2 miles. Sorry, Niagara!
Any Iguazu Falls tour will provide you with a sense of nature’s power and wonder. You can follow a boardwalk trail and take in the majestic, roaring falls from a safe vantage point…or, if you feel daring, a platform above the falls. Look down, but hang on to the railing—that’s a lot of water pouring beneath you.

From up high, the falls form a tremendous chasm in the surface of the earth, further solidifying the fact that this area is one of nature’s great wonders.
Surrounding the Falls are the two Iguazu National Parks, one located in Brazil, the other in Argentina. The parks are home to beautiful rainforest full of exotic creatures, like wild cats, reptiles, and 400 species of birds and butterflies. There’s far too much here to see in a day, so plan an extended visit to Iguazu. You can even stay the night in the national park and see more of it in the morning.

THE SOUTHLAND WAS CONGENIAL TO THESE
SETTLERS FROM EUROPE. IT IS THE ON
REGION OF BRAZIL WITH FOUR DISTINCT SEASONS,
LOOKING EVERY BIT LIKE THE EUROPEAN COUNTRYSIDE.......
......EXCEPT FOR THE PALM TREES.
THE TOWN OF GRAMADO LOOKS
VERY GERMAN, WHICH ISN'T SURPRISING
BECAUSE GERMAN IMMIGRANTS SETTLED HERE
IN 1824, AND DEVELOPED A PROSPEROUS
AGRICULTURAL ECONOMY.
IN FACT, THIS PART OF BRAZIL RETAINS
A EUROPEAN WAY OF LIFE
THAT SEEMS TO HAVE ALMOST
DISAPPEARED IN EUROPE ........
IN THE 1870S ITALIANS ALSO CAME,
BRINGING THEIR OWN CULTURE

PRODUCING VERY GOOD WINE
IN THESE RICH SOUTHERN SOILS.
BUT THE SOUTHERN REGION ISN'T ONLY A LAND OF
AGRICULTURE. IT IS A REGION OF NATURAL WONDERS
AS WELL.
THESE WIND SCULPTED SPIRES
OF RED SANDSTONE RESEMBLE THE RUINS
OF SOME ANCIENT CIVILIZATION,
ITS GREATNESS REDUCED BY TIME, AND
THE NAME GIVEN TO THESE NATURAL MONUMENTS,
VILA VELHA, MEANS JUST THAT --
ANCIENT CITY.
ITAIMBEZINHO CANYON IS A DRAMATIC
FIVE MILE WIDE FAULT--
CLEAVED BY GEOLOGICAL MOVEMENT.
FEATHERY WATERFALLS DESCEND
TO A PRIVATE EDEN BETWEEN THESE

GEOLOGY HAS GIVEN THE SOUTHERN REGION ANOTHER
CURIOUSITY. THE FURNAS -- CAVITIES

TO RIDE DOWN THIS ELEVATOR IS TO
FALL INTO A FAIRYTALE WORLD OF
DEEP GREEN POOLS AT THE BOTTOM OF
A GIANT WELL.
NOTHING, HOWEVER, CAN PREPARE

FIRST THERE IS THE THUNDER.
THEN THE SHAKING EARTH.
HIDDEN BY VAST FORESTS, ON THE
BORDER OF ARGENTINA AND PARAGUAY,
IGUASSU FALLS OVERWHELMS ALL EXPECTATIONS.
TO BE PRESENT AT THESE FALLS
IS TO HAVE THE SENSATION OF
BEING PRESENT ON ONE OF THE
DAYS OF CREATION.
THERE IS A PRIMAL URGENCY
TO THE RUSHING FORCE OF THESE
WATERS.
THE WATER CRASHES ONTO BASALT ROCKS
AND SHATTERS TO FORM A CONSTANT HIGH CLOUD OF MIST
WHICH IN TURN BREAKS THE LIGHT OF THE SUN
INTO ELUSIVE RAINBOWS
AND AGAINST THIS BACKDROP,
TOO GRAND TO BE COMPREHENDED,
ARE THE MINUTE DELIGHTS OF

THERE ARE MORE THAN 275 SEPARATE FALLS

ON THE BRAZIL SIDE, THERE ARE A SERIES
OF PLATFORMS, EACH WITH A DIFFERENT

IT 'S GOOD TO EXPERIENCE THE WILDERNESS,
BUT TO BE ABLE TO BRING CIVILIZATION ALONG
IS ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

JUST THAT, AN OASIS OF ELEGENCE AND

Famous for being home to one of the world’s top football teams, the Rio de Janeiro Carnival and the remarkable Iguazu Falls, Brazil is an exciting world travel destination. As South America’s largest country, Brazil covers a majority of the continent’s northeastern region and borders all of its countries except for Chile and Ecuador. From the Amazon rainforest in the North to the tropical beaches along the Atlantic, to the Pantanal wetlands and the vibrant metropolises of the Southeast there are plenty of interesting places to visit in Brazil.
1. Rio de Janeiro
There is no destination on earth more animated and exciting than Rio de Janeiro. Located in southeastern Brazil, Rio de Janeiro is the most visited city of South America due to its famous mountains, landmarks, beaches and Carnival festival. Rio de Janeiro is situated on one of the world’s largest harbors surrounded by natural attractions that include the Sugarloaf and Corcovado mountains and famous beaches like Copacabana and Ipanema. The city’s iconic landmark is the enormous Christ the Redeemer statue sitting atop Corcovado mountain.
2. Foz do Iguacu
One of the world’s most stunning natural wonders, Iguazu Falls is a series of magnificent waterfalls located on the Iguazu River, straddling the border between Brazil and Argentina. The falls in and of themselves are a breathtaking spectacle, but their beauty is all the more enhanced by the surrounding lush forest teeming in exotic wildlife.
3. Salvador
A historic Old City, beautiful beaches, lively culture and one of the world’s biggest Carnival celebrations all fashion Salvador into one of the best places to visit in Brazil. One of the oldest cities in the Americas, Salvador is Brazil’s third largest city and the capital of the Bahia state. Situated on the coast of the Bay of All Saints, Salvador offers fantastic beaches that are ideal for sunbathing, swimming and surfing. Some of the most popular include Porto de Barra, Flamengo and Stella Maris.
4. Fortaleza
Nice beaches, dynamic shopping and lively culture all make Fortaleza one of Brazil’s popular places to visit. The capital of the Ceará state on the country’s northeastern coast, Fortaleza is Brazil’s fifth largest city. The most popular beach is Praia do Futuro, but other favorites are Iracema, Mucuripe and Meireles. Not only are the beaches great for swimming, sunbathing and surfing, but they also offer hotels and restaurants. Fortaleza also serves as the jumping-off point for many visitors to truly spectacular beaches, rolling dunes and idyllic fishing villages up and down the Ceará coast.
5.Sao Paulo
Not only is Sao Paulo the largest city in Brazil, but it is also one of the largest in the world according to population. Located in southeastern Brazil, Sao Paulo is known for its skyscrapers, gastronomy and robust culture scene. It is home to many ethnic groups from all over the globe including the largest Japanese community outside of Japan. Although Sao Paulo is known for its concrete jungle, it is also contains a large number of public parks and even portions of the Atlantic rainforest.
Foz Do Iguaçu Waterfalls Cataratas Do Iguaçu Brazil Travel Argentina Wonder Of The World
One of my first travel videos, this was filmed over 2 days exploring both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of Cataratas do Iguaçu, the Iguacu Waterfalls.
From the Brazil side, a single day Visa for Argentina can be purchased for 600 pesos. The day tours are about 8 hours in length and include transport for around $80 Australian Dollars per day.
If you are based on the Brazil side, the Brazil side can be explored without a tour guide and allows much more freedom, however a guide will ensure all the top areas are visited while supporting local tourism.
These are one of the biggest waterfall systems in the world, named one of the Wonders of the Natural World, and something you must see in Brazil and Argentina

Hey everybody!
Today we're going to be counting down
the best things to do in Iguazu Falls Brazil...
My number one pick for the best thing
to do in Iguazu Falls is the Macuco Jet Boat safari
it's amazing
it takes you right into the centre of the falls you get under the water and what a thrill
One of the things I highly recommend you do is head out
to the Itaipu Dam
It is the second largest dam in the world
and let me tell you
you really feel the force of the water
while you're there
While you're out there
do a sunset tour of the Itaipu Lake it's a great way to go out and watch the sunset and have a little cocktail while you're at it
When you come to Iguazu make sure you take the catamaran tour that sunset is beautiful
And don't forget to visit Parque das Aves the famous bird park
lot's of great birds there to see, some of them you can't even see in the wild
Half of the birds here are rescues and half are actually bred here
An Amazing place to come if you're in Iguazu
Come to Marco das Americas to see where Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil all meet
And if you're looking for a place to stay
I highly recommend the Belmond das Cataratas it's the only hotel that's right inside Iguazu National Park
And it gives you access to see those waterfalls and sunrise and sunset where you have them all to yourself
And when you're inside the park you've got to go down to the catwalk and walk right out into the falls it's really cool to be surrounded by waterfalls
Make sure you go and visit a bit of the downtown there are a lot of things to see
there's different museums
One thing that stood out to us is visiting the traditional mosque
And you go to a Chinese temple and walk around the peaceful gardens
If you want to see the falls from a birds eye point of view
A helicopter tour is always recommended
This wasn't the best helicopter tour
we've ever taken but it was a great way to see the falls for a very short time up in the air
If you want to get into the heart of the jungle
go to the Bananeiras Trail this is really cool
you can do a ten kilometre bike ride into the jungle
then a hike then some kayaking and even a speedboat tour
It's a full day of adventure
So those are our favourite things to do in Iguazu Falls in Brazil if you like what you saw today make sure you subscribe to our channel
