Adventure Antigua Eco Snorkeling Island Tour by boat
This island day trip has been described by thousands of people as a must do while on holiday to Antigua and Barbuda. This may be the highlight of your vacation. This tour was designed by Eli Fuller to take visitors on a sightseeing day out on the water where you are treated like family and shown the hidden islands of the North Sound. This tour has themes of history and ecology and you will get a chance to see some of the local and migrating wildlife. Your expert local guides will navigate you up to Long Island where you learn about the hawksbill turtle program there. From there you will cruise past Maiden Island with it's interesting history and huge man made reef system. You will then cruise into the mangrove nursery and delicate habitat off Guiana Island where you learn about the interesting relationship between the species there. Next tou navigate up between the reefs and islands like Rabbit Island and Red Head up towards Great Bird where you the guides will take you on an interesting nature walk. When you return you may enjoy a swim while others take part in snorkeling lessons in the shallow waters off the beach. Next it's a buffet lunch on the boat while you look out for turtles which often come up for air nearby. In the afternoon we visit Hells Gate island with its interesting natural bridge. Here you have a variety of things to do including snorkeling or checking out the caves on the little island. In the afternoon there is another chance to snorkel at Welch Rock followed finally by our special Traditional Rum Punch which you can enjoy along the voyage home. This tour is offered to both cruise ship passengers, to hotel guests, and to residents of the islands. For more info please go and have a look at adventureantigua.com or email us through the site for more info on our excursion company. We love what we do and hope that you will see why when you come out with us.

Top 5 Island Getaways | Travel + Leisure
New routes and frequent flights to island escapes mean you can be vacationing in no time. Ongoing airport upgrades have made travel to Antigua and its 365 beaches even more efficient from anywhere in the U.S.; stay at The Galley Bay Resort & Spa. Delta flies nonstop to Providenciales from both Boston and JFK; at the Regent Palms, kids under 12 stay free. Aruba may seem far away, but it's an easy jaunt—especially from the east coast. We love the new Ritz-Carlton. Sanibel Island, Florida, is beloved for its shell-topped beaches; try the Island Inn. Kauai's dramatic coastline is more accessible than ever, thanks to new flights from San Diego, California. Don't miss the St. Regis Princeville Resort. For more easy island getaways, go to

Antigua: Day 5
Today we went on an ecological tour aboard the Adventure Antigua. The eight hour tour featured historical landmarks and islands. We visited St. John island to pick up some passengers and then on to Bird Mountain. Bird Mountain is the nesting grounds for Frigate birds in the Caribbean. After hiking to the top, our guide told us about the surrounding sea and other animals on the mountain. Then it was on to Hell's Gate, a natural bridge in a mountain formed by waves from the Atlantic. After a sumptuous lunch, the students went snorkeling and swimming in the Atlantic. It was an exhausting, yet fun day.
Tomorrow, we tour The American University of Antigua and St. John, the capital of Antigua for another scavenger hunt.
