אנדרטת חטיבת הנגב
את פני הנכנסים לבאר שבע מצפון מקבלת אנדרטת חטיבת הנגב: מבני בטון מרשימים, גדולים ומעוצבים מספרים את ההיסטוריה של חטיבת הנגב של הפלמח. מיקום האנדרטה אינו מקרי - הוא מסמל את הכיוון ממנו נכבשה כבשו לוחמי החטיבה את העיר במלחמת העצמאות, והיום זהו גם מקום מושלם לצפות ממנו בשקיעה.
סיפור של חטיבה שלמה על גבעה קטנה
עובר אורח, אתה בא בשערי מקדש מעט של אהבתנו לארץ הנגב - אלו המילים שמלוות את הנכנסים בשערי האנדרטה. עוד חקוקים על הקירות שירי הפלמח, קטעים מיומן המבצעים של החטיבה ומכתבים. הקרב על העיר באר שבע וכיבושה באוקטובר 1948 היה לאחד ההישגים החשובים של חטיבת הנגב, שהגנה למעשה על צינור המים לעיר ועל יישובי הנגב הנצורים.
מי שנבחר לעיצוב האנדרטה הוא הפסל דני קרוון (נתיב השלום בניצנה, מליאת הכנסת), שכלל בה 18 אלמנטים, כאשר לכל קיר ומבנה יש משמעות: הקו האנכי הפרוס מצפון לדרום מסמל את צינור המים לעיר, הכיפה היא חדר זיכרון לנופלי החטיבה וקרני השמש החודרות דרך החריצים מאירות את שמות הנופלים. זנב הנחש המבותר מסמל את האויב המובס ועל כיכר המבצעים (במרכז האנדרטה) תשע מפות קרב המזכירות את שולחן החול של החטיבה. המבנה הבולט ביותר באנדרטה הוא המגדל המנוקב, המסמל את הנגב הנצור, והרוח הנושבת דרך החורים שבמגדל משמיעה קול קינה על נפילתם של הלוחמים

The Museum Complex - The New Old City - Be'er Sheva - Digital tourism venture
The Museum Complex - the Negev Museum of Art and the Museum of Islamic and Near Eastern Cultures are housed in impressive historical buildings from the Ottoman period, in the complex which was the governmental, religious and social center of the city. The Governor's Residence, which housed Be'er-Sheva's first City Hall, is now the Negev Museum of Art. The museum presents unique exhibitions of modern, Israeli and international art. The structure of the Museum for Islamic Culture is, in its own right, a work of art, and its inner courtyard has been converted into a small garden with archaeological exhibits. The changing exhibitions combine traditional and modern works that emphasize the beauty and richness of Islamic culture and the cultural interrelations between the peoples of the Near East.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

The Monument to the Negev Brigade (Hebrew: אנדרטת חטיבת הנגב, Andartat Hativat HaNegev), known locally as the Andarta, is a monument designed by Dani Karavan in memory of the members of the Palmach Negev Brigade who fell defending Israel during the 1948 Arab Israeli War. It is situated on a hill overlooking the city of Beersheba from the east and constitutes a recognized symbol of the Negev and Beersheba.

Beer Sheva, capitale du Negev, longtemps négligée, deviendra le 2ème pôle économique d’Israel avec un développement tous azimuts: agrandissement du campus de l’université Ben Gourion, implantation de start ups extrêmement innovantes, et last but not least, un futur Pentagone. Un peu d’histoire.
Après les Byzantins qui abandonnèrent la ville au VII eme siècle, les Ottomans qui occupaient la Palestine ne s’intéressent pas au site jusqu’à la fin du XIX eme siècle. Beer Sheva était décrite alors par les pèlerins européens comme une terre aride avec un puits et une poignée de Bédouins qui menaient leurs troupeaux se désaltérer.
Les Ottomans y ont construit une magnifique mosquée qui est aujourd’hui the Negev Museum of Islamic Arts auquel est venu s’adjoindre un bâtiment récent qui abrite les œuvres de Kadishman et autres artistes contemporains israéliens qui ont offert des œuvres majeures.
Écoutez Dalia Manor, directeur et curateur des deux musées: Negev Museum of Arts of Beer Sheva et Museum of Islamic and Eastern Cultures. Elle est également l’auteur de Art in Zion: The Genesis of Modern National Art in Jewish Palestine.
