Castlepoint - NEW ZEALAND
Castlepoint, New Zealand
Castlepoint is a small beachside town on the Wairarapa coast of the Wellington Region of New Zealand.[1] It is home to a lighthouse which stands near the top of the northern end of a reef. The reef is about one kilometer long. At the southern end of the reef, there is an island known locally as seagull island, due to its large population of seagulls. The southern side of Castle Rock is known as Christmas Bay. Castlepoint is approximately one hour's drive from Masterton. The population of Castlepoint and its surrounds was 1,686 as recorded in the national Census of 2006.
Castlepoint was so named in 1770 by Captain Cook who was struck by the similarities of Castle Rock to the battlements of a castle. The Maori name for the area is Rangiwhakaoma, which translates as 'where the sky runs'. Smaller cetaceans such as dolphins frequent around Castlepoint while larger whales such as southern right whales and humpback whales may be visible from the shores during their migration seasons. A book chronicling the history of Castlepoint, including Castlepoint Station, Castle Point Lighthouse and the local fishing industry was published in October 2010 by Hedleys Books or Masterton.
Castle Rock is a landmark in Castlepoint and is 162m high. It includes a walk through woods and over bridges and is a beautiful walk approx. 45 minutes long.
Mataikona Sand Dunes are an area of large sand dunes approximately 30 minutes north of Castlepoint towards the Matakona River mouth.

Chunpalmundo Capítulo 1 Nueva Zelanda 2016
¡Hola! Jaja
Nos vemos pronto
Hi! We are a Chilean couple, Juan (25) and Nicole (24) and this is our first video about the trip we did through New Zealand! We decided to make the trip after two weeks of having met in Sydney! We took the risk and we started in Auckland, passing through Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo, Napier, Palmerston North, Wellington, from where we took the ferry to the South Island, starting in Picton, driving then to Nelson, Hokitika, Franz Joseph Glasier, Wanaka, Queenstown, where we had the best burgers ever and did bungy jumping! From Queenstown we headed to Milford Sound, from where we drove through Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch, Harmer Springs, back to Picton and then back up again to Hamilton. We decided to start traveling around the world, so this is just the beginning! We hope you enjoy the video and don´t doubt to ask us about places, panoramas, cities, camping or how to cook under the rain! Haha
See you soon

Hawkes Bay Winery Trail
To celebrate my dad's birthday we did a family trip to Hawkes bay and hit up some of the incredible vineyards down there. I am honestly the worlds worst vlogger because I always end up regretting not filming more when I get to editing. It's more awkward that it's my dad's birthday and he doesn't even feature in the video... Hopefully I can be a bit more successful in my next vlog.
Hope you have an awesome week!!
