Chedworth Roman Villa - England
The ancient ruins of the Chedworth Roman Villa are tucked away deep in the English countryside of the Cotswolds. Accidentally discovered in 1864 when a gamekeeper was digging for a ferret, Chedworth is an excellent site for exploring and understanding the remains of a large country house of the Roman period. Chedworth Roman Villa is one of the grandest Roman dwellings in Britain and features several fine mosaics, two bathhouses, and hypocausts.

Binstead Road - Queen's Road - West Street - Spencer Road - St. Thomas Street - Ryde Esplanade
Ryde is an English seaside town and civil parish on the north-east coast of the Isle of Wight. It had a population of 32,072 at the time of the 2011 Census. Its growth as a seaside resort followed after the villages of Upper Ryde and Lower Ryde were merged in the 19th century. The influence of that period can be seen in the town's central and seafront architecture. As a resort, Ryde has expansive sands revealed at low tide. The wide beach necessitates the listed pier for a regular passenger ferry service to the mainland. It is the fourth longest in the United Kingdom and the oldest survivor.

Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight /ˈaɪl əv ˈwaɪt/, known to the ancient Romans as Vectis, is a county and the largest island of England, located in the English Channel, on average about 3 to 5 mi (5 to 8 km) off the coast of Hampshire, separated from mainland United Kingdom by a strait called the Solent. The island has several resorts which have been holiday destinations since Victorian times.
The history of the Isle of Wight includes a brief period of time as an independent kingdom in the 15th century. Until 1995, like Jersey and Guernsey, the island had a Governor.

Island Heritage
The history of the Isle of Wight seems to typify the history of England. This video examines the story of the heritage of the island from the Roman invasion led by the Emperor Claudius, then through the Middle Ages to the time when Queen Victoria bought Osborne House, near Cowes, because of her love of the island. The story ends with the present day role which Osborne and the Island play in the 21st century.
