Nichol end near Portinscale in Cumbria for tea and a scone. We explored the Esthwaite valley from Outgate to Hawkshead. Our home for the week was Hillside Cottage at Knipe Fold.

An evening walk around Derwentwater, Keswick. The rain finally stopped but we decided to go for a walk around this beautiful lake in Cumbria. the walk around Derwentwater is approximately 9 miles and is one of a few lakes that you can walk all the way around. Half way round Derwentwater you can stop at the Mary Mount Hotel or the Lodore Falls Hotel for food and drinks with Portinscale being another good place to eat. Nichol End Marine being a dog friendly cafe as well as a good place to watch the boats go by.
