Nihonbashi Station is the Tokyo subway / Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation Station located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
As the center of Japan, the Nihonbashi district has enjoyed much commercial prosperity over the centuries, and the area has flourished with bustling shops lining the streets and shipping canals (most of which have been filled in in the meantime). Many shops with centuries-long histories are still operating in the district today and make for pleasant strolls. During the Edo Period (1600-1867), the Mitsui family, one of the most powerful merchant families, opened a highly successful textile shop, the Echigoya, in Nihonbashi. Its successor, the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, became Japan's first department store and still stands in the district's center.
I made this video with iPhone and iMovie.
Edo old town in tokyo , japan( ningyocho) near by Nihonbashi
Ningyocho means Doll Town and is a charming little district in the Nihonbashi district of Tokyo's Chuo ward that has made an effort to convincingly retain and recreate a sense of Tokyo tradition. Ningyocho features often quaint street scenery, old-style shopping, numerous cafes and renowned places to dine, and cultural appeal with its museum to a famous Japanese print maker. Ningyocho is taken to include the area, too, around the adjacent Suitengumae Station, just a few minutes' walk east.

Day 2 Nihonbashi, Tokyo 2018 *Nihonbashi Bridge
After a exciting train ride from the Haneda Airport International Terminal to Nihonbashi, I finally arrived at the Nihonbashi Bridge. The Nihonbashi Bridge (Nihonbashi is Japanese for Japan Bridge), originally wooden in 1603, has been Japan's highway network since the Edo Period. The current bridge, as seen in the video, dates back to 1911. This video was taken at the Nihonbashi Tourist Information Center. I hope you enjoyed the video! See you in the next one!

Nihonbashi, Chuo Ward, Tokyo 「日本橋」
Nihonbashi is a business district which grew up around the bridge of the same name. This district became famous as terminus of Tokaido and Nakasendo in the 17th century. Because of this it developed as a commercial town. The current bridge was built in 1911. Despite the metropolitan expressways running above it it still serves as the center of this district.
