SIP Certified - Andy Niner of Niner Wine Estates
Sustainability is integral to the Paso Robles Niner Wine Estates business model, and they have incorporated it into their approach to farming, building design, and operations since their inception.
Founded in 2001 by Richard and Pam, their son Andy now leads the family owned winery.
Niner Wine Estates believes that they are defined by the group of passionate, talented and humble people who have worked at the winery, both past and present. They currently farm a total of 212 acres across three different vineyards, and make all wine in the LEED Certified Winery at Heart Hill Vineyard.
SIP Certified is a rigorous program that helps growers and wine processors verify their sustainability with independent inspections. The program rules are called the Standards (attached). Certain questions are Requirements and must be in place for certification. Additionally, participants need at least 50% of the Management Enhancement question points. The program runs from December 1 through November 30 the following year.

Wine Country RV Resort & J Lohr Winery (Wine Tasting) (99)
We have been anticipating this visit to Paso Robles for ever!
We have enjoyed J Lohr and Liberty School wines for many years and it was nice to have a chance to visit the wineries. J Lohr's tasting was our favourite.
We also enjoyed the campground. The cons: the front desk staff was very chilly. I imagine they get a lot of people coming through and take their jobs for granted. I would still like to be greeted with a smile and a kind word. Also, the Passport America deal was only valid on Monday to Thursday.
The pros: The grounds are beautiful and well kept with pic-nic tables, a gym, jacuzzi, pool, clean bathrooms and showers. They were also located close to the different wineries. The J Lohr winery was right up the street!
If you like you can organize a shuttle to visit the different wineries at the front desk. I personally avoided the front desk staff when possible.
We would definitely stay here again despite the poor service. The location is too good to pass up.

Paso Robles 2010 Wine Festival tour
The 28th annual Paso Robles wine festival is not only celebrated park in Paso Robles but a lot of the wineries have events also for the visitors to also attend. Participating wineries in the area have a variety of fun and other things to see and do. We visited the Stacked Stone Cellars and found out more of the events. The estate vineyard produces low yields of highly concentrated, jammy, and intense Zinfandel fruit. The vines are sustainably dry farmed and head pruned on the west side Paso Robles, where the soils are rich in minerals and nutrients. The soil is calcareous and siliceous composed of shale, mudstone, siltstone and limestone providing the optimum terroir for Zinfandel. The estate fruit is gently harvested to produce the flagship and award wining wine the Zin Stone

EP Aeration, California's authorized distributor of Air Diffusion Systems (ADS), is proud to announce the completion of a state of the art wastewater treatment system at Niner Wine Estates, A Super-Premium, Central Coast Winery, located on Highway 46 West.
Engineered by Air Diffusion Systems (ADS) out of Gurnee, IL, the aeration system is a first of its kind in the wine industry and is designed to drastically reduce the liabilities and environmental impacts associated with typical onsite winery wastewater treatment systems.
Unlike surface aerators which beat oxygen into the surface of the water, ADS uses air diffusers which lay on the bottom of the treatment lagoon and emit tiny bubbles that oxidize the organic wastes as they rise through the water column. The result is high quality water that is guaranteed to be odorless and meet state mandated water quality requirements while operating at 25% of the electrical requirements of an industry standard surface aerator.
Once the water is treated it is sent through a constructed wetland for polishing and finally into a pond where it will be held until it is used to supplement approximately 15% of the estate vineyard's water demand. The recycled water and energy savings make the system a model of sustainability.
