Cape Range National Park Exmouth WA Holiday & Travel Guide
The Cape Range National Park is a stunning natural expanse of canyons, gorges, limestone ranges and caves.
You can visit the eastern or western side of the range and it is best to head to the Milyering Visitors Centre first to get some maps information about the park.
There are a number of walking trails that you can embark on to follow along these ranges and canyons. If you do go for a trek along one of their tracks it is very important that you take sufficient water because it does get hot here and some of the walks are quite steep and go for many kilometers.
You might even be lucky enough to have a few unexpected guests walking along with you at some of the walking tracks, and we had a family of emus walking along in front of us.
Yardie Creek is a popular gorge and DEC run daily gorge tours and cruises up the creek. And Mandu Mandu offers spectacular views over this dry gorge once you have made it to the top of the steep tracks up the rugged canyon walls.

Our van life dream Australia -
We are an Australian couple, living and working full-time from our self-built camper van as we travel the country. We have one goal and that is to be present and aware of the now and to live in the moment.
We've endeavoured to remove anything stress inducing from our lives, so we travel with minimal possessions, we eat simple, healthy food and we work for ourselves at our own pace. Living in a van just goes hand-in-hand with our lifestyle.
We usually spend our days parked up at the beach, working and surfing. We have a lot of people approach us, who are curious about our van and our lifestyle, so we have decided to document how we live and why we do it, hence the YouTube channel!
We really hope that you enjoy this insight into our lives.

BEACH SHACK CAMPING - Red Bluff Ep.68 - Road Trip Australia
We pulled into the homestead where we got some information and maps on the station, then headed up to ‘Red Bluff’. Our expectations of Red Bluff were quite high, as alot of people had recommended it to us.
Well we’re here to say... we LOVED it!
Arriving at reception, we asked the caretaker what could he offer us. As we knew it was off peak and could see alot of empty sites. He offered us a beach shack for only an extra $5 per head a night. As apposed to $15 per head for pure bush/beach camping, we had a nice lovely shack.
Of course we inspected it before agreeing but it was quite cosy and he assured us, it was the only shack which had lights. Oh la la fancy. We settled into our shack for 3 nights. It had 2 double beds plus a bunk bed, communal picnic table, some shelves, fire pit and its own private access to the beach. Oh plus lights of course.
There were 4 windows which opened up on the shack, which made it very breezy during the day, and provided great views out onto the ocean. We admired the view from our outside bench seat, where we ate alot of our meals from. Plus when the wind blew up, we could all sit around inside and play some cards.
Red Bluff
So whats here to do you may ask? Red Bluff is known for a popular surfing break. It has some really cool caves to explore. A large ridge to climb up, and if your lucky you might get a few bars of telstra. We saw countless goats, a handful of whales, plenty of fish etc. You can literally walk both directions for miles .
Red Bluff even has a small store, which sells smoothies, toasties and surfboards. Just have to check the times on the blackboard. As we were off-peak, it was only open for 1 hour during the day, which was fair enough. Why stay open with such little crowds. There was also plenty of drop toilets around, so you don’t have to be self contained.
Tip - Make sure you stock up on drinking water in Carnarvon, there is none in Quobba.

Ningaloo Reef & Exmouth Vlog #003
Ningaloo Reef & Exmouth - Amy and I head for Exmouth in Australia's North West.
The World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef is one of the longest fringing coral reefs in the world. Stretching from Bundegi Beach near the township of Exmouth in the north, right along the western shore of North West Cape, past Coral Bay and beyond to Red Bluff at Quobba Station to the south, the Ningaloo Reef is 300 kilometres of unspoiled underwater paradise.
The Ningaloo Reef was declared a marine park in 1987 in order to protect this unique environment and its inhabitants. In 2011, the Ningaloo Reef and Ningaloo Coast received UNESCO World Heritage listing, with the inception of the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area. This was largely in recognition of the fact that the Ningaloo Reef is one of the most biologically diverse marine environments on the planet; home to more than 250 species of coral and over 500 species of fish.
Unlike most coral reefs which are located well offshore, the Ningaloo Reef runs within very close proximity to the shoreline. In most places along the reef's 300km length, coral gardens brimming with brightly coloured tropical fish lie mere footsteps from the beach. This makes the Ningaloo Reef Australia's easiest access coral reef experience.
The outer edge of the Ningaloo Reef protects a crystal clear lagoon that is on average only 2-4 m deep and incredibly rich in marine life - a wonderland for nature loving snorkellers, no matter what their age or ability may be. There are limitless snorkel sites to enjoy throughout the Ningaloo Reef Lagoon, ranging from do-it-yourself beach snorkels through to secret spots best accessed via one of our local snorkel tour operators.
The Ningaloo Reef is not only a spectacular wonder of nature itself, but also forms an important habitat for many amazing marine creatures. The Ningaloo Reef is one of only a handful of locations worldwide where huge but completely harmless whale sharks regularly congregate in numbers, allowing visitors the extraordinary experience of swimming with these largest fish in the ocean.
Manta rays are another huge but harmless inhabitant of the Ningaloo Reef, particularly at Coral Bay which is home to a resident population of mantas. This allows visitors the year-round opportunity to swim with these playful and very inquisitive creatures.
The Ningaloo Coast is also home to a large population of marine turtles. Six of the world's seven species of marine turtle have been recorded along the Ningaloo Reef, with green, loggerhead and hawksbill turtles the most commonly encountered. The reef forms a feeding ground and habitat for these turtles, while the beaches of Ningaloo are critically important turtle nesting sites.
Humpback whales are annual visitors to the Ningaloo Reef, migrating from their Antarctic feeding grounds to winter in the warm waters of the Ningaloo. During this time the Ningaloo plays host to the highest density of humpback whales in the Southern Hemisphere, with as many as 30,000 individuals visiting during the June-November period. Humpbacks can be sighted from the shore, or for an up close and personal perspective, jump aboard a whale watching tour from either Exmouth or Coral Bay. For an even more intimate encounter, tours to swim with humpback whales are available from both Exmouth and Coral Bay from August-November.

Ningaloo Marine Park - Visit every beach to Yardie Creek - Video by Steven Potts
Welcome to my trip down the coast - A visit to every beach so you can experience the coast for yourself ..
Ningaloo Marine Park protects the world-famous Ningaloo Reef – Australia’s largest and most accessible fringing reef. Here, you simply step straight off the dazzling white sandy beaches and enter an underwater wonderland of incredible diversity.
Ningaloo Marine Park provides an excellent opportunity to fish
(outside sanctuary zones), swim, snorkel, dive, observe marine
life and relax on the beach.
Cape Range National Park....
Cape Range National Park is dominated by a rugged limestone
range, the remains of an ancient sea floor thrust upwards by
movements of the earth’s crust. The range descends to sea
level along the coast with arid coastal plains and sand dunes
predominating.
This diverse landscape is rich in wildlife. Kangaroos, echidnas,
emus and large lizards are common, along with smaller
mammals and other reptiles. More than 160 species of bird have
been recorded in the area.
The park provides a variety of recreational opportunities to walk,
camp, canoe, observe nature, picnic, take photographs and much
more.
Where is it? The northern entry point provides the main access
to Cape Range National Park and is about 36 km from Exmouth.
Entry from the south is via Ningaloo Station and requires a
four-wheel-drive in order to cross Yardie Creek. Yardie Creek is
subject to intermittent saltwater flooding — contact Milyering or
Exmouth Visitor centres for conditions.
Roads The major access road into and through the park (south
to Yardie Creek) is sealed. Access roads to individual sites
comprise both sealed and unsealed roads. Most of these access
roads are suitable for two-wheel-drive vehicles. However, road
conditions deteriorate rapidly with rain and access may become
restricted.
A great place to stay when you are in this area is the Bullara Station Stay with fantastic hosts Tim & Edwina Shellcross

Cape Range National Park - Exmouth, Western Australia
Cape Range National Park is situated on the Western side of Exmouth, Western Australia. It's Northern border is just 40km from Exmouth - making it a handy destination for many.
Access to Cape Range National Park is quite easy. A 4WD is not necessary.
There are 11 different camping areas to choose from but they do get super busy throughout the year - so plan and book ahead if you can! Many of these campsites have had recent upgrades and are looked after by campsite volunteer hosts.
There are a few different snorkelling spots in Cape Range but our favourites are Turquoise Bay (drift loop) and Oyster Stacks. Make sure you have the right tides to snorkel Oyster Stacks - as they are made up of 5 isolated islets that protrude from the reef. A high tide will give you the best conditions.
The fishing is supposed to be good around that area - although we couldn't catch a thing! But, do your research... there are lots of sanctuary zones that you must not fish within. You can learn about these at the Milyering Visitor Centre when you arrive.

Ningaloo Reef - Western Australia
Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia has gained an impressive reputation as one of Earth's last ocean paradises. Take a dive with hundreds of tropical fish, colourful coral and the world's biggest fish, the whale shark.
It's one of the largest fringing reefs in the world and unlike many others, you can get to it just by stepping off the beach.
