Movie Palaces #126 - The REGAL HENLEY 1937 & The COUNTY MARLOW 1938
A brief visit to two small provincial cinemas, the REGAL, Bell Street, HENLEY-ON-THAMES, opened May 1937 by County Cinemas and the COUNTY, Spital Street, MARLOW. I was pleased to share a Sunday Organ Show with the late ROBIN RICHMOND in January 1973 at the Henley Regal - I was playing my annual pantomime at the Woodville Theatre in Gravesend, Kent at the time. Luckily there are no pantomime performances on Sundays! I do remember they paid a crap fee at the Regal! and Robin had fully enjoyed the bar facilities which did nothing to improve his performance! An interesting afternoon if nothing else! Commentary by Tony Moss.

REGINALD PORTER-BROWN - NOLA (Arndt) - Regal Kingston WURLITZER
The one & only REGINALD PORTER-BROWN playing in his inimitable style,
Arndt's novelty number NOLA on the famous REGAL KINGSTON 3/12 + GP WURLITZER.
Recording from the ComptonLodgeStudios Archive Collection taken from a BBC Radio Broadcast.
There's always confusion over the name of this cinema - It started life as the REGAL, but when taken over by Union Cinemas it became the UNION. When Associated British Cinemas rescued the ailing Union Cinema Company it reverted to REGAL. Still later Associated British renamed all their cinemas plain A.B.C.!
