Salisbury (Wiltshire, UK)
Salisbury - is a cathedral city in Wiltshire, England, with a population of 40,302, at the confluence of the rivers Avon, Nadder, Ebble, Wylye and Bourne. The city is approximately 20 miles (Avon32 km) from Southampton and 30 miles (48 km) from Bath.
Salisbury is in the southeast of Wiltshire, near the edge of Salisbury Plain. Salisbury Cathedral was formerly north of the city at Old Sarum. Following the cathedral's relocation, a settlement grew up around it which received a city charter in 1227 as New Sarum, which continued to be its official name until 2009 when Salisbury City Council was established. Salisbury railway station is an interchange between the West of England Main Line and the Wessex Main Line.
Salisbury Cathedral, formally known as the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is an Anglican cathedral in Salisbury, England, and one of the leading examples of Early English architecture. The main body of the cathedral was completed in 38 years, from 1220 to 1258.
Since 1549, the cathedral has had the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom, at 404 feet (123 m). Visitors can take the Tower Tour where the interior of the hollow spire, with its ancient wooden scaffolding, can be viewed. The cathedral also has the largest cloister and the largest cathedral close in Britain at 80 acres (32 ha). It contains a clock which is among the oldest working clocks in the world, and has the best surviving of the four original copies of Magna Carta. In 2008, the cathedral celebrated the 750th anniversary of its consecration.
The cathedral is the mother church of the Diocese of Salisbury and is the seat of the Bishop of Salisbury, currently Nick Holtam.
The Old George Mall, The Maltings и Winchester Street. Основные места работы местного населения — это Salisbury District Hospital, Friends Provident и пиротехническая компания Pains Wessex.
Salisbury Market - Charter Market - market square Salisbury Wiltshire
Salisbury Market Wiltshire
Salisbury holds a market on Tuesdays and Saturdays and has held markets regularly since 1227. In the 15th century the Market Place was dotted with stone crosses marking the centres for certain trades and goods. Today only the Poultry Cross remains, to which flying buttresses were added in 1852. The other crosses were the Livestock Cross, the Cheese & Milk Cross and the Wool & Yarn Cross.
In 1226, King Henry III granted the Bishop of Salisbury a charter to hold a fair lasting 8 days from the Feast of the Assumption of Mary (15 August).[12] Over the centuries the dates for the fair have moved around, but in its modern guise, a funfair is now held in the Market Place for three days from the third Monday in October. However, there is still an ancient law stating that the fair can be held in the Cathedral Close.
Even though Salisbury's famous Charter Market is held outdoors in all weathers throughout the year, it never fails to please the shopper and browser alike. Colourful, noisy, bustling, friendly and full of enticing aromas; from freshly ground coffee and fresh bread to hot doughnuts, hog roast and newly cut flowers. You can also discover a bit of Italy, selling the best ice cream, oils and olives in the South West. Also fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, cheeses, eggs, haberdashery, carpets, clothes, shoes, jewellery, kitchenware and wooden furniture, in fact the range of goods on offer is outstanding and all at exceptional prices.
The farmers' section within the market now runs every market day throughout the year and has proved to be an invaluable addition. It can be recognised by the line of green and yellow umbrellas located in the middle of the market. The produce sold is grown or produced by local farmers selling goods such as smoked trout and other fish, fresh bread, eggs, meats, sausages, bacon, cheeses and locally produced wines - something for all tastes. Around the top of the market you will find many cafés serving espresso and cappucino as well as beer, wine and food, with plenty of outside tables and chairs.
Other shopping centres in Salisbury include The Old George Mall, The Maltings, Winchester Street and the Crosskeys precinct.

Novichok,nerve,agent,killed,mother,three,perfume,bottle
The brother of one of the Novichok poisoning victims has claimed that the nerve agent was found in a perfume bottle, as Britain reportedly closes in on identifying the Russian spies responsible for the attack. Charlie Rowley, 45, was left fighting for his life in hospital after being exposed to the deadly nerve agent in Salisbury, Wiltshire and his partner Dawn Sturgess, 44, died last Sunday following a heart attack. Police started a murder investigation after Ms Sturgess's death and are now said to be closing in on the people who carried out the attack.Mr Rowley's brother Matthew said the poison had been contained in a perfume bottle which the 45-year-old picked up, BBC News reported. He said Charlie Rowley was 'absolutely not the brother I know' and said he was still concerned after speaking to his brother on the phone. But he said his brother had started eating solid food again as he continues to be treated at Salisbury District Hospital.Meanwhile the New York Times reported that the Russian GRU agency is thought to be responsible for the attacks in Salisbury. The newspaper quoted an American official as saying that Britain was 'closing in on identifying the individuals they believe carried out the operation' although it was not ruled out that other agencies could have been involved. Sergei Skripal served in the GRU, which is also cited in charges by U.S. officials related to alleged Russian hacking in the 2016 presidential election. Share this article Share Police said last week they had found traces of the nerve agent in a small bottle in the Amesbury home of Mr Rowley..Earlier it was reported that Charlie Rowley's first words when he woke from a coma were 'Theyed my girlfriend, Theyed my girlfriend!' A post-mortem for Ms Sturgess is scheduled to take place on Tuesday and an inquest into her death is set to open and adjourn in Salisbury on Thursday. Search teams investigating the poisoning have recovered more than 400 exhibits, samples and items - with police warning that searches could last months.Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, national lead for Counter Terrorism Policing in the UK, described the process as 'painstaking and vital work'.Counter-terror detectives are trying to establish where the bottle came from and how it came to be in Mr Rowley's home. The UK has invited experts from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to independently confirm the identity of the nerve agent.

How to Organize a Stag Party
By Alex G. Smith
Every bachelor has different ideas of what they would consider a perfect stag party. It is what comes from their heart that most matters when planning one of these most important celebrations-the transition from singlehood to married life. Usually the job of organizing a stag party is given to the best man of a wedding party, or perhaps one of the other attendants. Sometimes it may be the brother or father of the groom who helps organize such an event. Whatever the case may be these parties require a few organizational skills.
In order to ensure the most successful stag party it is important to plan the event in as far in advance as possible. Also, usually a bachelor will need to set a wedding date before even thinking of planning a stag party date. Typically the stag party would occur as close to the wedding date as possible, such as the weekend before the wedding, or perhaps even a day or two before the wedding. Planning ahead is important, knowing what a stag party may consist of is also important. This will require communication between the groom and the best man, as well as the rest of the wedding party, and other stag party invitees. The groom and attendants can work together to create a master list of all the ideas that could possibly be incorporated into planning a party such as this. Then, from that list the best ideas, and whatever ideas a groom's and/or groom's family will fit into the groom's or family's budget.
After the list is created it may be time to start researching for possible stag party locations. Since these types of bachelor parties most take place in Europe it is recommended that party planners search the Internet with terms related to finding European stag parties. Various results will come up leading to more ideas related to planning stag parties. The ideas that are found via Internet can be added at the groom's discretion to the ideas already accumulated and decided upon, or the list can be used to create the perfect stag party package. Likewise, pre-planned party packages can be purchased for a fee, which require very little effort on the best man's part.
If the stag party and the wedding are planned on the same weekend or within the same week (as usually ends up being the case) it may be wise to choose a location for both the bachelor party and the wedding that is as close as possible. Some of the most popular European locations for stag parties include London, Prague, Leeds, Bristol, or Dublin. For instance, London stag party-goers can participate in a paintball war, or they can test their speed in a go kart race. Moreover, party-goers in the city of Prague can enjoy fine dining, and in Riga they can take a historical tour.
Finally, traditional stag party activities can be enjoyed, such as looking at and flirting with some of the most beautiful half-naked women of the whole entire world. There are no two stag parties that are the same. Every engaged man has different ideas and tastes of what they want to occur at these parties. Some of them would prefer a more quiet celebration while others would prefer a more adventurous celebration.
It is up to the groom and the wedding party to make it happen.

Salisbury shopkeeper says Russian spy was a favourite customer
(7 Mar 2018) The owner of a local convenience shop frequented by Sergei Skripal has spoken about the former Russian spy.
Ebru Ozturk, originally from Kahramanmaras, Turkey, said Skripal was one of her favourite customers and she even used to buy in the food that he liked to eat, particularly smoked bacon and Polish salami.
Skripal, a former colonel in Russia's GRU military intelligence service, was found collapsed alongside his daughter on a bench near a shopping mall Sunday in Salisbury, 90 miles (145 kilometres) southwest of London.
Skripal was convicted in 2006 of spying for Britain and imprisoned.
He was freed in 2010 as part of a widely publicised spy swap in which the US agreed to hand over 10 members of a Russian sleeper cell found operating in America in return for four Russians convicted of spying for the West.
