Tokyo, Japan - Old Steam Locomotive Outside Shimbashi Station HD (2017)
Shimbashi Station (新橋駅 Shinbashi-eki) is a major interchange railway station in Tokyo's Minato Ward, located centrally and a 10-minute walk from the Ginza shopping district, directly south of Tokyo station.
Tokyo is the capital city of Japan and one of its 47 prefectures. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府 Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市 Tōkyō-shi).
Tokyo is often referred to as a city, but is officially known and governed as a metropolitan prefecture, which differs from and combines elements of a city and a prefecture, a characteristic unique to Tokyo. The Tokyo metropolitan government administers the 23 Special Wards of Tokyo (each governed as an individual city), which cover the area that was the City of Tokyo before it merged and became the metropolitan prefecture in 1943. The metropolitan government also administers 39 municipalities in the western part of the prefecture and the two outlying island chains. The population of the special wards is over 9 million people, with the total population of the prefecture exceeding 13 million. The prefecture is part of the world's most populous metropolitan area with upwards of 37.8 million people and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy. In 2011, the city hosted 51 of the Fortune Global 500 companies, the highest number of any city in the world, at that time. Tokyo ranked third (twice) in the International Financial Centres Development IndexEdit. The city is also home to various television networks such as Fuji TV, Tokyo MX, TV Tokyo, TV Asahi, Nippon Television, NHK and the Tokyo Broadcasting System.
Tokyo ranked first in the Global Economic Power Index and third in the Global Cities Index. The city is considered an alpha+ world city – as listed by the GaWC's 2008 inventory – and in 2014, Tokyo was ranked first in the Best overall experience category of TripAdvisor's World City Survey (the city also ranked first in the following categories: helpfulness of locals, nightlife, shopping, local public transportation and cleanliness of streets). In 2015, Tokyo was ranked as the 11th most expensive city for expatriates, according to the Mercer consulting firm, and also the world's 11th most expensive city, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's cost-of-living survey. In 2015, Tokyo was named the Most Liveable City in the world by the magazine Monocle. The Michelin Guide has awarded Tokyo by far the most Michelin stars of any city in the world. Tokyo was ranked first out of all fifty cities in the 2015 Safe Cities Index. The 2016 edition of QS Best Student Cities ranked Tokyo as the 3rd-best city in the world to be a university student. Tokyo hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics, the 1979 G-7 summit, the 1986 G-7 summit, and the 1993 G-7 summit, and Tokyo will host the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Paralympics.

Night Street View of Shimbashi, Tokyo, Japan- Walking around in the Salary Men Capital
In this video, I take you on an adventurous tour through 新橋 Shimbashi also called Shinbashi. I begin my tour next to Uno entertainment place. I take you through a large maze of dark narrow alleys of Shimbashi, and show you a myriad of delicious restaurants that are hidden deep in the alleys and dispersed all throughout the city. We pass by a plethora of restaurants, bars, and hotels including the following: standing sushi bar, girls bar, shot bar, girls bar cafe, ramen shops, hostels, Mexican restaurants, KFC fast food restaurant, family mart, a dart place, vending machine ramen restaurants, sukiya Japanese restaurant, izakayas, markets, and the famous C11292 Locomotive in SL plaza. Additionally, we pass by massage parlors, Big Echo Entertainment place, Pronto cafe, Labi electronics, Yamada, McDonalds, Hirota dessert place, Ikinari steak, Dai Ichi Hotel Tokyo, many more ramen shops, W the Suit Company, Apple Inn Love Shop, Camp Curry BBQ, Pachinko slot, and I end the tour at McDonalds.
While touring the city, I show you the hectic life of Shimbashi as I weave through large crowds of people. Regardless of the night, there is usually a huge crowd congregating. Some are there for tourism, others are there for food, drinking and socializing, and entertainment.
The term Shimbashi means “new bridge station,” which is derived from the Shinbashi bridge. In 1604, Shimbashi was developed on the site where a bridge was erected across the Shiodome river. This city is known for being Japan’s first railway terminal station, which was constructed in 1872. One of the famous attractions is the C11292 antique model steam locomotive (which is displayed at the SL plaza adjacent to the JR Shimbasi station and the Hibiya exit). This locomotive was designed by Nippon Sharyo in 1945 and it has a rich history in the city of Shimbashi.
Additionally, while touring Shimbashi, you may find that it is a city that boasts an entertainment, commercial, and business environment. The business aspect of Shimbashi is clearly recognized when you observed Japanese people donned in black suits. Quintessentially, they are called salary workers (office workers) and Shimbashi has certainly earned the title the salary men capital of the city of Tokyo. It is very common place for salarymen to enter Izakaya’s (Japanese pub restaurant) after a long day at work and invest long hours socializing with friends and meeting new people. That is the typical culture of Japan.
Shimbashi is located in Minato, Tokyo, and it is about 1 hour by train from the Narita airport and 30 minutes from the Haneda airport. The city is situated between Shiodome (where famously the musical clock tower is located) and Ginza, a popular shopping district. Shimbashi is also located west of Tsukiji, where the famous fish market lies.

This video is designed for those who have never seen nor traveled to Japan. It was important for me to show raw footage of the streets of Shimbashi at night to give you a glimpse of the normal and typical life in the city. Shimbashi is reminiscent of New York City given the great number of salary men working and socializing in the city.
Finally, the numerous restaurants in the city are overwhelming. Some are expensive and others are cheap. You may find great difficulty deciding which restaurant to eat at. This is a challenge I face when I travel to Shimbashi, Tokyo.

Japan Trip 2013 Tokyo Tamachi-Station Yamanote Line Tokaido Shinkansen Mita Minato-ku Night view t07
Tōkaidō Shinkansen
The Tōkaidō Shinkansen (東海道新幹線?) is a Japanese high-speed Shinkansen line, opened in 1964 between Tokyo and Shin-Ōsaka. Since 1987 it has been operated by the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central), prior to that by Japanese National Railways (JNR). It is the most heavily travelled high-speed rail route in the world by far; its cumulative ridership of 5.3 billion passengers dwarfs all other systems and lines worldwide.
The line was named a joint Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark and IEEE Milestone by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 2000.
Yamanote Line
The Yamanote Line (山手線 Yamanote-sen?) is a railway loop line in Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East). It is one of Tokyo's busiest and most important lines, connecting most of Tokyo's major stations and urban centres, including the Yūrakuchō/Ginza area, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro, with all but two of its 29 stations connecting to other railway or underground (subway) lines.
The Yamanote Line as an official line name indicates the tracks between Shinagawa and Tabata that is used by local trains on their own tracks as well as the parallel Yamanote Freight Line which is used by Saikyō Line and Shōnan-Shinjuku Line trains, some limited express services, and freight trains. However, in everyday usage the Yamanote Line refers to the entire 34.5 km loop line served by local trains. (This article uses the same definition.)
Tamachi Station
Tamachi Station (田町駅 Tamachi-eki?) is a railway station in Minato, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

【東京】Tokyo Akasaka NightWalk, 4K HDR HLG - 赤坂見附
It is a night view around the station Tokyo Akasaka station in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
I uploaded it with #4K #HDR #HLG.
When playing on PC, contrast does not come out with monitor not compatible with HDR, but it seems that you can play well with YouTube application of Xperia XZ Premium for smartphone supporting HDR.
For other YouTube HDR compatible smartphones Pixel LG V30 Galaxy S8 Galaxy Note 8 (as of 2017/10)
SDR down conversion version is played when playing with unsupported smartphone, so the contrast is out there, but the bit rate is low and block noise is high ...
It seems that SDR is converted to h.264 and HDR is converted to VP9 codec.
For editing, after editing in rec.2020, create an HLG version with mkvmerge and upload it.
The current situation is still hard to monitor because HDR grading can not be monitored.
If you have a strange color on the HDR monitor please tell me ... I am practicing HDR so if you make a mistake please thrust in!
Shooting was done with iPhone and α6500. The lens uses three old lenses and one kit lens, one AF zoom lens.

東京港区「赤坂見付」駅周辺の夜景です。
4K HDR HLG

Shinbashi Streets - Izakaya, Etc-A (100730Fr-1844)
Walking around on some back streets in Shinbashi. These streets used to be very thick with retro-izakaya shops, but their numbers decrease year by year as the city becomes ever more modern; which is part of what Tokyo is of course, but the loss of the old stuff makes things - in some senses - less interesting.
