Time Off: Jews of Romania
Before WWII, Romania was home to one of the largest Jewish communities in Europe. And today, the State Jewish Theater (Teatrul Evreiesc de Stat) in Bucharest is still the oldest Yiddish-language theater with uninterrupted activity in the world. Come learn about Jewish Romania.
Jewish Romania: The Jewish Theater, Bucharest
Guide Eduard (romaniajewishtours.com and medievaltours.com) took us to the Teatrul Evreiesc de Stat Bucuresti (Jewish Theater), situated in the center of the once predominantly Jewish area.
Although called the Jewish Theater, the artists, writers, musicians and actors who perform are not necessarily Jewish but Romanian. Programming is a mix of traditional and modern with a repertoire that includes: Yiddish classic, Romanian and international works.
Interestingly enough, the Nazis left the theater alone to attend performances themselves. I found the prop department extremely interesting with enough vintage to interest the most devout fashionista. Another must-see and unusual stop for tourists in Bucharest.

A nagyváradi Szigligeti Színház 2017.

A gardénia kényes virág. Szabadföldön fagypont alatt elpusztul. Sötétzöld, fénylő levelei között jázminillatú virágok nyílnak. Meglehetősen embert próbáló növény - valósággal kiköveteli a meleg nappalokat és a hűvös éjszakákat. Sajnos nagyon érzékeny és nehezen gondozható. Elvirágzás után nehezen lehet rávenni újabb virágzásra.
Lányok, asszonyok. Kislányok, kisasszonyok, hölgyek, némberek, tündérek, boszorkányok, hercegnők és koszos cselédek, elvirágzott prostituáltak és kényeskedő dámák. Éhesek, vágyakoznak, verekednek, mocskolódnak, ölelkeznek, üvöltenek, sírnak, keringőznek - négy nő. Négy női generáció innen, a közeli Krakkóból, Lengyelországból, Közép-Európából.

Oradea
Oradea the capital city of Bihor County and Crișana region, is one of the important centers of economic, social and cultural development in the western part of Romania, retaining these characteristics throughout history. The city is nestled between the hills that separate and unify in a harmonious way with plain Crișana. Located on the banks of Crișul Repede River, that divides the city into almost equal halves, it is the gateway to Central and Western Europe. The city is located in the north-west of Romania, at the intersection of parallel 47 ° 03' north latitude with meridian 21 ° 55' east longitude.
Located about 10 km from Borș, the most important crossing point on the west border, Oradea ranks tenth in size among Romanian cities. It covers an area of 11,556 ha. The city is at an altitude of 126 m above sea level, in the opening of the Criș valley and the plain area, in an area of contact between the extensions of the Apuseni Mountains and the extended plain Crișana-Banat. It lies as the area of transition from relief hills, to the Pannonian plain. City topoclimatic action is determined by the prevailing Western winds. Climate is Temperate Continental, with some oceanic influences.

Magyarok Romániában – száz év történelem – dokumentumfilm-sorozat készült a romániai magyarokról
JÚL-10 cikkek
Magyarok Romániában – száz év története címmel az elmúlt száz év történelmi eseményeit felölelő dokumentumfilm első részét mutatja be az RMDSZ csütörtökön 19 órától a Bánffy-palota Tonitza termében. Az eseményen jelen lesz Kelemen Hunor szövetségi elnök, illetve kerekasztal-beszélgetést szerveznek történészekkel.
Az első világháború kitörésétől a Trianonig vezető útról szóló rész forgatókönyvírója Fodor János. A filmben hét jeles történész szólal meg: Ablonczy Balázs, Fodor János, Nagy Botond, Gidó Csaba, Egry Gábor, Lucian Nastasă-Kovács, illetve Zahorán Csaba.
A dokumentumfilm-sorozat kilenc részből áll, amelyben a szakma legnevesebb történészei mondják el az elmúlt száz év eseményeit. A filmekben sok archív, főleg korabeli híradókból származó felvételt használtak. A filmsorozat szerkesztője Víg Emese, szakmai irányítója pedig Bárdi Nándor. A további részek kapcsán újabb vetítéseket szerveznek a következő fél évben.
