Starling Murmurations & Roosting,RSPB Otmoor,Oxford November 2018
Watch and listen to the murmurations of around 100,000 starlings coming in to roost at RSPB Otmoor in Oxford, England. This spectacle happens every winter from November until February.
Turn your audio on to hear how loud the starling chatter gets, as more and more birds come down to roost towards the end of the video.
Recorded Saturday 17 November 2018 between 16:00 and 16:30 as the light faded and the last of the starlings came in to roost for the night.
To see the murmurations you need to be at the viewing area for approximately an hour before sunset. It's about a 20 minute walk from the carpark - which can get pretty busy on days when the weather is good.
The path can also get quite muddy when there has been a lot of rain, so it is advisable to wear good waterproof footwear, and warm clothing as you will be standing still for some time. A torch might also be a good idea to take, as it will be dark when you leave if you stay to see the last of the birds arrive.

Return to Oddington
Ride to Oddington (Otmoor) via Islip and back in the evening. I quite like the blurry long exposures towards the end, but would have preferred for them to turn out a little darker.
This was done taking 3s intervals and played at 12fps. This was the longest sequence I've taken so far thanks to using Lithium batteries which outlast my previous standard batteries and still aren't exhausted.
The track is Take A Trip (Instrumental) by Ming+FS.
