Bar la Playa Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Bar la Playa is one of Puerto Vallarta's most popular Bars located on the South-side of Vallarta. This week I interview Owner Alex Ivan Moctezuma who tells us The Secret For a Great Bar.
Also High Season in Full Swing in Puerto Vallarta
Gabino Sandoval the Pull-tab Purse Maker had a Fire at his Home and Needs our Help.
When you are in Puerto Vallarta, you will find there are no shortages of bars. Almost every restaurant has one, and there are all sorts of watering holes. I’ve taken you to a few breweries and a couple of bars, as well, and like I’ve said more than once, I
Bar la Playa, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
want to take you to places that I like because I think I know you, and I’m pretty sure you would like this place too. Bar La Playa is a tiny bar located on Lazaro Cardenas, alongside the Parque de Los Azulejos, and next door to places like Page in The Sun, and Jim Demetrio’s Studio.
The bar opens up right on the sidewalk with bar stools set up on the sidewalk like maybe four of them along that outside part of the L shaped bar, the bar then goes inside the small building with maybe room for another 6 stools. Then a couple of stools along the opposite wall and a couple of tables set out on the sidewalk. Bathrooms in the back.
Bar la Playa always has beautiful bartenders, yes Beautiful young ladies working miracles behind the bar. Good liking guys too. Okay, but these girls really know how to mix a drink. And customer service is obviously something these tenders have been trained in. And the drinks…well let me tell you. Can you tell I really like this bar?
I made arrangements to meet Alex in the evening after he and his wife put his little baby to bed for the night. I figured we should meet at Bar La Playa. I wanted to give you a taste of what a hopping little bar sounds like, European café style like on
the sidewalk at around 10:30 on a warm October evening in Puerto Vallarta. So I grabbed the only table available just outside the bar and set up the microphones, got a tasty drink and waited just a couple of minutes for the new daddy to come riding up on his motorcycle. Parked it out front, he checked on his crew, ordered a stiff drink, and we started talking about his story, and his recipe for success in the cocktail making business. So let’s go right now to Lázaro Cárdenas 179, Emiliano Zapata neighborhood right across the street From TileparkPV, and let’s meet one of the young entrepreneurs of Vallarta, Alexis Ivan Moctezuma, Alex, from Bar La Playa, Puerto Vallarta.

The GAY Puerto Vallarta
Perhaps you have heard that Puerto Vallarta is the gay capital of Mexico... and its true! For this reason, today I will share the best gay friendly places in Puerto Vallarta.
Puerto Vallarta is a great place to be gay, because well it counts on a great number of businesses that cater to the gay community located in the Zona Romantica or Old Vallarta.
One example of this are the touristic gay cruises from Diana's Tours, where one can enjoy whale sightings while snorkeling. These tours are lead by an oceanographer and are very well known due to the fact that their gay cruises typically end with a cocktail high up on the Blue Chairs terrace.
The Blue Chairs is a resort in front of the sea, located in the famous Playa de los Muertos, which is very easy to recognise. Located near the end of the Zona Romantica, it is known, as its name indicates, for its blue chairs on the beach, where you can sit if you purchase a drink.
And if we are talking about comfort, located in the highest part of the hill in Zona Romantica, we can find one of the most popular gay-friendly hotels: Casa Cupula. Nearly all of the rooms have fantastic views of Puerto Vallarta and the Bay of Banderas. The one inconvenience is the return to the hotel at the top of the hill, but it is worth the trouble.
When you are a bit tired of all of the activities and exploring everything that Puerto Vallarta has to offer and you want to relax with a good coffee, a piece of cake, and a good book, you cannot miss going to A Page in The Sun. A coffee shop/library in the center of the Zona Romantica, where besides using completely healthy ingredients for their bakery, they also toast and grind the coffee beans themselves.
Of course, if you have the desire to let go, dance, and drink a few margaritas with good music, the Zona Romántica, offers a lot of options for gay partying. If you are in a hotel in the Zona Romántica, you will be just a step away from any party where you can have a good time.
And if you come in May, for the Vallarta Pride, you will not lack in having plenty of places where you can celebrate and have a good time.

What To Do In Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's most popular destinations for snow birds trying to escape the cold back home. In this video I'm sharing some fun activities you can do there, many of which are free. Start by getting a bird's eye view of the old city (centro historico) by climbing up to an old lighthouse that's now a lookout point called Mirador Matamoros. Next check out the Chocolate Museum to learn about the history and culture of chocolate in Mexico, plus make your own to take home. To walk off the sugar high, head to River Cuale Island (Isla Rio Cuale) for some shopping or to grab a bite to eat. Then I suggest joining the Art Walk to learn about Puerto Vallarta's art scene and hear the stories behind its public art. At the end of the day, stroll along the lovely walkway that winds along the water called the Malecón. Try a popular local drink called a Tuba and get a photo with the Puerto Vallarta sign. The Malecón is the perfect place to catch the sunset and end the day.
Huge thank you to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board and ENroute Communications for inviting us to experience Puerto Vallarta.

→ Who are we?
Hey there! We are Greg and Hillary – a husband and wife team that loves traveling, going on adventures, and helping others do the same! Although we love traveling, at this point in time, we still have full time 9-5 jobs in Dallas, Texas.
In August of 2016, we packed up our things, Greg quit his job, and we moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!
Hillary is working remotely for her CPA firm and Greg is working on this site full time.
We view ourselves as fairly ordinary people, complete with an ordinary income, ordinary jobs, and (unfortunately) an ordinary amount of student loan debt (thanks UNT!).
I know what you are thinking, “Aren’t travel blogs supposed to be written by hippies that don’t have jobs and live in hostels?!” Well don’t you worry, we are working on making that happen! Although we hope to become full time travelers in the next 1-2 years, this site is not necessarily aimed at people that want to travel full time.
Our hope is not that you quit your job and become a long haired, bearded, Volkswagen van driving hippy. Instead, our hope is that after reading our stories you are more inspired to live a more fulfilling life from 5pm-9am!
Why such the emphasis on how ordinary we are? Although we love reading travel blogs, it is easy to feel disconnected from the writers at times. It seems as though they are leading such extraordinary lives that they are somehow doing something that is unreachable to the “average” person.
We are here to prove that wrong. We are here to tell you that even if you work a full-time job and only get two weeks of vacation each year-you still have the power to design an adventurous life for yourself. Afterall, that is exactly where we started before leaving it all behind to live la vida loca!
After having several caffeine induced conversations about how people should travel more and shift their priorities in a way that will lead to a more fulfilling life, we decided to share our stories with you.
Our purpose in creating Kinetic Kennons is to share our stories of travels, adventures, and funny mishaps and to inspire others to design a life full of exploration. Throughout this site you will find posts about how to go on a cheap weekend trip, funny stories such as the time Hillary forgot to update her passport before an international trip, and inspirational rants on why you should lead a more adventurous life!
Evidence Shows Yucatan HIT by Massive Tsunami 1,500 Years Ago!
The eastern coastline of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, a mecca for tourists, may have been walloped by a tsunami between 1,500 and 900 years ago, says a new study involving Mexico's Centro Ecological Akumal (CEA) and the University of Colorado Boulder.

Puerto Vallarta Malecon (Boardwalk) a City Favorite. Where is it?
Puerto Vallarta's Malecon
In the past the Plaza de Armas was the place to go to see and be seen, but in the 1930's Puerto Vallarta built a seaside boardwalk (El Malecón) spanning from what is now Hotel Rosita on the north end to way past the pier on Los Muertos beach on the south side. The original Malecon runs some 10 blocks from 31 de Octubre street to Zaragoza street on the south side.
Most of it is now exclusively for pedestrians and well laid out, with places to rest, lots of palm trees and vegetation, making it an ideal place for a family outing, enjoy the sea, the waves the small stretches of beach, eat breakfast or some other meal in one of the many great restaurants, shop around in the many stores, there's so much to do and enjoy and at the same time, all very relaxing and laid-back.
There are lots of things to do in Puerto Vallarta on your Puerto Vallarta family vacation, there are also public shows and spectacles along the way, there are the Papantla Birdmen that soar through the air around a pole, defying gravity and showing extreme courage, there are the comics, music and dance shows at the Los Arcos Amphitheater, the sand sculptures, the rock balancing experts and much more.
It is said that the Puerto Vallarta Malecon is the very heart of the city, one thing is for sure, if you visit Puerto Vallarta Downtown, you should save one day (at least) to go to the downtown area and visit the Malecon, you won't regret it.
So if you are asking yourself what to do in Puerto Vallarta, your best place to start finding your perfect Puerto Vallarta activities in the seaside promenade, the Puerto Vallarta boardwalk.

Coconut Fasting in Puerto Vallarta Mexico
hiendfitness.com Live natural foods contain enzymes. The more hydrated the food the more value it has for you. High water content fruits contain the magical distilled water. All the vegetables are cooked and energized by the sun. We are light. We are of the light. The sun is our source. We must eat the sunlight to restore ourselves to our true nature. The fruits and vegetables contain the high energy light and energy of the sun.
The higher the fruit grows the greater it's value. The coconut is the highest energy food. If you get a chance to eat coconuts take it. The only thing that may beat coconuts is emptiness. Un-Fooding is the way to ultimate healing. The body heals when it is empty and at rest. Stillness heals. Healing is natural. The body heals with time and stillness. I like to call it un-fooding.
Get the toxic crap out of your body and life. Reduce and remove the toxic elements. Dead foods, cooked foods and processed foods have no value for you. We must reduce or stop this habit as quickly as we can. Distilled water therapy will help the body remove the toxins that are already inside the body. Detoxify the body and allow it to stay empty as long as you can. Exercise, get out into the fresh air. Be in nature. Touch the earth and look into the sun.

Palladium Resort Puerto Vallarta Mexico
I read that there were large waves coming in from the Pacific, but I didn't know that there would be surfers around. The resort offers lessons and equipment (all-inclusive) there is rip tide outside the marked swimming area, but there is a lifeguard on duty. It's no different than skiing out of bounds or back country snowmobiling. There were lots of kids, and Cindy playing in the waves.
For me the resort and scenery far exceeded my expectations.
This is Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa in the Riviera Nayarit!
