The Painted Desert
This was near the end of the 1000 mi day. The wide angle doesn't do this place justice. It has a very Jurassic or martian feel.

We hit the state of Arizona today not realising we would have a time change but meaning we had moved yet another hour behind England. So we are now 8 hours behind you guys! We then went to Petrified National Forrest, which was truly breathtaking and amazing, and literally spent 4 hours there. We thought with the extra hour it would mean we had half a day spare but in the end it was a 9 hour day for us. We then ended up eating from the supermarket as Holbrook is a ghost town and the restaurants or should I say take away's do not cater at all for allergies.
Tomorrow we hit Williamsburg and the Grand Canyon.
You guys keep tuned and share the craziness with us. It's only going to get crazierrrrrrr.

Amazing Road Trip - Arizona, Route 66, Las Vegas
Contrasting Photos of a US Landmark Are the Subject of a Brilliant Calendar
Famed photographer Olaf Kohrsmeyer has created a calendar that is rich in images of the iconic Route 66.
Amazing Road Trip – Arizona, Route 66, Las Vegas (The Wall Calendar) is a mesmerizing array of photos captured by Olaf Kohrsmeyer as he traversed this intriguing location in the United States. Prepare to be awed by the incredible scenery as you flip through each month of the year.
While the title suggests a tour of Vegas, this is much more than a trip to the strip. Glorious landscapes lace the pages, topped by skyscapes that will take your breath away. June for example brings you out to the Nevada desert, were red painted hills are majestically framed by a line of fluffy white clouds.
Of course there are those expected Las Vegas shots, but like nothing you have ever seen before. Using different angles and views, the calendar makes you forget this is Sin City, and helps you appreciate the artistry and design that has gone into developing it.
A tribute to Route 66 would not be complete without classic cars speeding along the classic highway. In February, July and November you are taken back in time to when roadsters ruled the world. This is much more than a calendar, it is a photographic masterpiece of a world we often see, but not in this beautiful light.
Amazing Road Trip – Arizona, Route 66, Las Vegas (The Wall Calendar) is a high quality 14-page calendar. The dates are displayed in linear format across the bottom of each page, allowing for each image to take center stage.
About Olaf –A native German, Olaf Kohrsmeyer has been traveling the world, capturing ordinary moments and landscapes with a creative eye. His passion to highlight the beauty of the world is not missed in his latest calendar work, a compilation of contrasting pieces that fit together seamlessly.

A 1964 Chevy & other Antique Cars on Old Route 66
Come on a tour with us to the Wigwam Motel on old Route 66 in Holbrook Arizona off of interstate 40. Route 66 was the road people traveled in the 50's and 60's before they built the interstate system in the United States. Most of old Route 66 was by-passed when they built the new road and many of the little towns on 66 dried up and closed down because their life blood was re-routed and no cars ever came by again. This tale was made into a animated movie called Cars a few years ago and Holbrook was one inspiration for the movie with the 1950's style motel rooms made into Indian Tee pees and called the Wigwam Motel. The Motel later stocked its parking lot with antique cars from the 50's and 60's when it was built andwhen you stop by, it is like going back in time to another era when life was simpler and the family vacation was the center piece of life. So grab your popcorn, peanuts and a cold drink, and take a trip back in time and see what people enjoyed when your parents and grandparents were alive.....If you like our videos, please press the like and Subscribe button....thanks for watching

LED UPLIGHTING
Colored uplighting is an immediate way to bring a beautiful and stimulating feel to your event. Uplighting adds depth and a personal touch to your event by painting your room with light. The effect can be quite dramatic and help define a space, add color as well as dimension to an area and compliment your event's color scheme. Color elicits emotions and responses. Create a true Wow effect by turning your reception into a beautiful canvas of light. From soft and romantic to vibrant and lively, a lighting design can be created to capture your personal tastes and preferences. Photographers also love Uplighting since it adds a new depth to your photos instead of just dark areas beyond the flash.
MONOGRAM / GOBO PROJECTION
Monogram / Gobo lighting is a great way to personalize your event and add that extra Wow factor. These monograms can be shown on the dance floor, wall or any open space, even on the side of a building or at the bottom of a pool. Your monogram can include your name, date, initials, a themed graphic and more. A nice touch is to have the monogram coordinate with your invitations, cake, napkins, or other wedding elements. You can submit your own artwork or create your personalized design from our helpful wedding gobo catalog that has over 80 templates & 38 fonts to pick from.
CAKE PINSPOTTING
Don't let that multi-hundred dollar cake go unseen! Add a spotlight specifically for the cake so everyone can see it even when the room lights are dimmed for your reception.
VIDEO SCREEN & PROJECTOR
Our projectors & screens can fit in the smallest of spaces but can still be seen across a large ballroom. Ultra Short Throw projectors only use 3-4' to project a full screen image whereas traditional long throw projectors need 10-15' of space. This means more space for your event and you can have an 81 video projection in even the smallest spaces.
We have 2 options for Video Projection Screens. Traditional front projection screens or Rear projection screens. Traditional front projection screens offer a larger viewing area, brighter image and smaller footprint. Our stretchable lycra rear projection screens provide a sleek & modern touch for your video projection needs for people that don't want the traditional screen look.

SUMMARY
=======
Petrified Forest National Park is an American national park in Navajo and Apache counties in northeastern Arizona. Named for its large deposits of petrified wood, the fee area of the park covers about 230 square miles (600 square kilometers), encompassing semi-desert shrub steppe as well as highly eroded and colorful badlands. The park's headquarters is about 26 miles (42 km) east of Holbrook along Interstate 40 (I-40), which parallels the BNSF Railway's Southern Transcon, the Puerco River, and historic U.S. Route 66, all crossing the park roughly east–west. The site, the northern part of which extends into the Painted Desert, was declared a national monument in 1906 and a national park in 1962. The park received 627,757 recreational visitors in 2017. Typical visitor activities include sightseeing, photography, hiking, and backpacking.
Averaging about 5,400 feet (1,600 m) in elevation, the park has a dry windy climate with temperatures that vary from summer highs of about 100 °F (38 °C) to winter lows well below freezing. More than 400 species of plants, dominated by grasses such as bunchgrass, blue grama, and sacaton, are found in the park. Fauna include larger animals such as pronghorns, coyotes, and bobcats, many smaller animals, such as deer mice, snakes, lizards, seven kinds of amphibians, and more than 200 species of birds, some of which are permanent residents and many of which are migratory. About one third of the park is designated wilderness—50,260 acres (79 sq mi; 203 km2).The Petrified Forest is known for its fossils, especially fallen trees that lived in the Late Triassic Period, about 225 million years ago. The sediments containing the fossil logs are part of the widespread and colorful Chinle Formation, from which the Painted Desert gets its name. Beginning about 60 million years ago, the Colorado Plateau, of which the park is part, was pushed upward by tectonic forces and exposed to increased erosion. All of the park's rock layers above the Chinle, except geologically recent ones found in parts of the park, have been removed by wind and water. In addition to petrified logs, fossils found in the park have included Late Triassic ferns, cycads, ginkgoes, and many other plants as well as fauna including giant reptiles called phytosaurs, large amphibians, and early dinosaurs. Paleontologists have been unearthing and studying the park's fossils since the early 20th century.
The park's earliest human inhabitants arrived at least 8,000 years ago. By about 2,000 years ago, they were growing corn in the area and shortly thereafter building pit houses in what would become the park. Later inhabitants built above-ground dwellings called pueblos. Although a changing climate caused the last of the park's pueblos to be abandoned by about 1400 CE, more than 600 archeological sites, including petroglyphs, have been discovered in the park. In the 16th century, Spanish explorers visited the area, and by the mid-19th century a U.S. team had surveyed an east–west route through the area where the park is now located and noted the petrified wood. Later, roads and a railway followed similar routes and gave rise to tourism and, before the park was protected, to large-scale removal of fossils. Theft of petrified wood remains a problem in the 21st century.

Career (US Public Health Service, 1958)
The film is the story of the U.S. Public Health Service Indian School of Practical Nursing located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It follows three American Indian women through their progress at the school. The film shows them arriving, settling in their rooms, getting their uniforms, and orientation. It discusses the classes they take: anatomy, medical vocabulary, how to take blood pressure, read a thermometer, and make beds. The students visit the Albuquerque Sanatorium, the Indian Hospital in Santa Fe, and Indian ceremonies in Gallup, New Mexico. The students get practical clinical experience. The film also reveals the students' recreational activities and their arts and crafts. After four months, the students graduate. They then go to the Navajo Medical Center for seven months of clinical practice before their licensing exams. When they pass, the students are licensed to be practical nurses in any state, but most choose to work with their people.

The Life and Adventures of Nat Love by Nat Love | Audio book with subtitles
The Life and Adventures of Nat Love
Nat LOVE
Nat Love was born a slave, emancipated into abject poverty, grew up riding the range as a cowboy and spent his maturity riding the rails as a Pullman Porter. For me, the most amazing thing about him is that despite the circumstances of his life, which included being owned like a farm animal solely because of the color of his skin and spending later decades living and working as an equal with white coworkers, he was an unrepentant racist! Convinced that the only good Indian was a dead one, and that all Mexicans were greasers and/or bums, he rarely passed up a chance to shoot a member of either group, whether in self-defense or cold blood, and shows no sign of having appreciated the difference. At one point, he fell in love with a Mexican girl but, apparently unable to tolerate this reality, considered her Spanish. Nat Love was a fascinating character who lived in equally interesting times, and one only wishes his autobiography was much longer and more detailed. summary by ohsostrange
