Welcome to Colombia
Colombia Tourism Ministry created a network of towns that were declared heritage towns of Colombia. These seventeen towns are filled with beautiful Colombian architecture, culture and history. Here is the full list:

In the video I talk about eight of them. The first one is Santa Cruz de Mompós in Bolivar. It was founded in 1537 and is located near the biggest river in Colombia, the Magdalena River. Then, there’s Barichara, located in Santander ant it’s known as the prettiest town in Colombia. In third place is Honda. It was founded in 1539 and it’s a three-hour drive form Bogotá. In fourth place is Jardín, Antioquia. It’s surrounded by hills and it’s a three-hour drive from Medellín (Watch full video about Jardín: Then there is Santafé de Antioquia. Founded in 1541 and one of the most popular towns in Colombia due to its proximity to Medellín, a major Colombian city (Watch full video about Santafé de Antioquia: The next town is Monguí, situated in the Boyacá department. It’s a two to three-hour drive from the capital and has an altitude of 2,900 meters (9,514ft). There you can find the Paramo de Ocetá. In seventh place is Salamina, Caldas. It’s a two-hour drive from Manizales and known as the City of Light because all the artists who were born there. The last town is Villa de Leyva, located in Boyacá. It’s a very famous town because it’s very close to Bogotá (170Km) and has one of the largest plazas in South America.

El páramo se encuentra a unos 4000 metros de altitud. Cuenta con formaciones geológicas que forman un gran atractivo turístico Colombiano.

Páramo Parque Nacional de Pisba - Cascadas con Agua de vida a 10 grados / ruta Libertadora
El Parque Nacional Natural Páramo de Pisba comprende un sistema de escarpadas montañas, como los bosques de niebla y páramo; ubicado en la Cordillera Oriental en la Región Andina de los Andes en Colombia. Aporta a los ríos Pauto y Cravo Sur, además de poseer varias lagunas de origen glaciar.
La vertiente oriental es muy húmeda, ya que sobre este lado se localizan las selvas húmedas del piedemonte llanero que se incrustan en la orinoquía. La vertiente del lado occidental es muy seca y limita con el río Chicamocha.
Sus múltiples lagunas de origen glaciar que son lugares de confluencia de una gran diversidad de aves acuáticas. También por estar conectado con los bosques del piedemonte orinocence hay una alta presencia de aves que es un potencial para la investigación.
Desde el punto de vista ambiental este Parque es muy importante pues se conecta con el Cocuy para formar un corredor biológico. Además, aquí nacen varios ríos y se encuentran muchísimas lagunas de aguas prístinas. Desde el punto de vista histórico, Pisba es relevante por haber sido paso de la tropa libertadora hacia el interior del país. donde se libro la Batalla del Puente de Boyacà y le dio la libertad a nuestro país.
Localizado en los municipios de Mongua, Socha, Tasco, Jericó, Pisba y Socotá, en el departamento de Boyacá. Cercano a Sogamoso, Corrales, Yopal, Pisba, Socha, Los Pinos.
45.000 hectáreas, una Temperatura Entre 15°C y 16°C sobre los 2.000 metros y los 5°C en las cimas.
Seco Entre diciembre y marzo, lluviosos Entre abril y julio.
Vías de acceso: Tomando como punto de partida la ciudad de Tunja se sigue la ruta: Paipa, Duitama, Paz Del Río, Socha. A partir de allí, por la vía que conduce a Tame, se viaja hasta las veredas Los Pinos o el Cardón, o directamente hasta la laguna Colorada. A partir de estos puntos se toman los caminos de herradura que atraviesan el Páramo de Pisba. Desde Yopal hay un carreteable que conduce a la población de Pisba. A partir de allí pueden tomarse los caminos que se internan por el Páramo.
El páramo de Pisba, escenario de la Gran Campaña Libertadora de la historia de la independencia. Simón Bolívar y su ejército transitaron por el camino de herradura que viene del municipio de Paya, pasa por Pisba, atraviesa el páramo y llega al municipio de Socha. Los paisajes de bosque de niebla y páramo, y la diversidad de fauna y flora hacen de este parque uno de los más bellos de esa zona del país.
Aporta gran riqueza hídrica a las vertientes del río Meta y Chicamocha. Cuenta con lagunas de origen glaciar como Las Estrellas, El Verde, El Tablón, La Grande, Los Perros, Chorro Blanco, Macetas, El Tendido, Los Patos, Corral Chiquito, De Socha, Agua Blanca, La Atrancada, Novoca, Negra, Cueva Rica, El Tablón, Laguna de la Cruz, Triquillal, Pozo Negro, La Barrosa y Laguna Peña Negra.
La biodiversidad en las zonas de paramos esta representada por especies de frailejones entre los que se pueden mencionar Espeletia jaramilliana, ariana, boyacensis, brassicoidea, cleefii, congestiflora, entre otras. Además podemos encontrar pequeñas manchas boscosas de Polylepis quadrijuga.
La vegetación del Parque Nacional Natural Pisba se resume en 202 especies de plantas vasculares agrupadas en 116 géneros y 54 familias, Las especies representan 5 familias de monocotiledóneas 40 de dicotiledóneas y 9 grupos de plántulas que incluyen Pteridophyta Lycopodiaceae y Polypodiaceae. Las familias más diversificadas en cuanto el número de especies son: Asteraceae con 41 especies (21% del total de especies), seguida de Rosaceae con 10 especies (5%), Poaceae con 9 especies (4.5%), Melastomataceae con 8 especies (4%), Bromeliaceae con 7 especies (3.5%).
Sitios de interés: Serranía Peña Negra, Laguna Verde, Laguna El Tendido, Laguna Grande, Alto La Buitrera.
Lugares históricos como la Laguna del Soldado, la Ruta Libertadora camino a Pisba, y la casa donde se hospedó el Libertador Simón Bolívar.
Recomendaciones para ir de paseo: Vacunarse contra tétano, llevar botiquín de primeros auxilios y ropa abrigada. Si se planea acampar debe llevarse todo el equipo y las provisiones.
No olvide capas y botas Impermeables. No destruya la naturaleza ya que existen especies endémicas y olvide no contamine los riachuelos ni las lagunas, no deje basura.

Welcome to Colombia
In Colombia there are several tourist places. Many people know Cartagena, Salento, Bogotá, Medellín as the main tourist places in Colombia; But there are many towns in Colombia where you can have a real Colombian experience.
In the video I share what for me is the perfect itinerary to have a real Colombian experience, full of culture, native people and preserved tourist sites in Colombia.
The main places to live a real Colombian experience are the following:
1. Colombian Llanos (Meta-Casanare): It is a region that has not been fully developed in terms of tourism but offers different tourist activities such as bird watching and llanos safari.
2. In the department of Boyacá ( you can find beautiful places like Cocuy and Mongui.. In Cocuy you will find a snowfall of 5,330 meters high, called the Nevado del Cocuy ( Mongui is one of the heritage towns of Colombia ( There is located the Paramo de Ocetá (
3. In the department of Santander ( you will find amazing landscapes, not only in the most touristic places like San Gil and Barichara, but also in all the small towns of the department.
4. In Antioquia you find towns with very friendly people who will always want to meet those who visit them. These towns are Jardín ( and Santa Fé de Antioquia ( heritage towns of Colombia.
5. To live a real coffee experience in Colombia visit Salamina ( one of the heritage towns of Colombia in the Coffee Belt.
6. In Huila ( there are many places to know. For example, there is Palestina ( where are several reserves such as El Encanto, a perfect place for bird watching and enjoying good Colombian coffee.
7. In the department of Nariño ( there are several natural places to visit. One of the main tourist attractions is the Laguna de Cocha (

Welcome to Colombia
In Colombia ( there are many tourist places, diversity of landscapes, mountains, beaches, deserts and much more. Today I want to present, according to my experience, the most beautiful places in Colombia, with the best experiences and which you surely have to visit. Here is the list:
1. Santander ( It is a department whose capital is Bucaramanga( There is also one of the Heritage Towns of Colombia, Barichara ( Santander is the perfect place for extreme sports and has a diversity of ecosystems that allow you to enjoy different tourist activities.
2. Boyacá ( It is a department that does not have much tourism development, but it has amazing landscapes. There are tourist places like the Nevado del Cocuy ( and the Paramo de Ocetá (
3. Coffee Belt ( It is composed of the department of Quindio ( Caldas ( and Risaralda ( Perfect for nature tourism and a great coffee experience.
4. Nariño ( This department located in southern Colombia has several volcanoes and lagoons, such as the Laguna de la Cocha ( In Nariño you can do several outdoor activities, although tourism has not developed completely.
5. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta ( A large mountain located in the middle of the Colombian Caribbean. There you can go hiking, visit coffee farms and enjoy spectacular landscapes.

Cuítiva, Boyacá, Colombia
Cuítiva es un municipio colombiano ubicado en la provincia de Sugamuxi en el departamento de Boyacá. Es una de las tres poblaciones que se encuentra bordeando la Laguna de Tota. Está situado a unos 85 kilómetros al oriente de la ciudad de Tunja. El municipio limita por el norte con Iza, por el oriente con Sogamoso, por el occidente con Aquitania y por el sur con el municipio de Tota.
La capilla doctrinera del municipio, construida en el siglo XVII es un Monumento Histórico Nacional.

Laguna Negra - En el pie del morro de Use, se encuentra una gran reserva natural como es la LAGUNA NEGRA, que aunque sus aguas son cristalinas, la vegetación y sedimentos del fondo le dan a primera vista un aspecto oscuro y sombrío. Esta hermosa Laguna está poblada de trucha arco iris por lo que se deduce que es uno de los mas importantes criaderos de esta especie que tiene el municipio. De igual manera de esta gran laguna se desprenden los acueductos que abastecen el municipio.
Alrededor de la Laguna Negra, se encontró un fósil perteneciente a un enorme mastodonte; en el libro “presencia de Boyacá un pueblo que progresa editado en la imprenta del departamento, el 7 de agosto de 1954 hace mención a este hallazgo para esta época el fósil se encontraba expuesto en el Museo Nacional. En la parte de anexos se presenta un carta de remisión de los huesos al museo nacional el 15 de abril de 1983. a la fecha no se ha recibido respuesta a la solicitud que se le hizo al museo nacional para saber donde resposan actualmente el mastodonte de la Laguna Negra.
LAGUNA NEGRA MONGUA BOYACÁ
Laguna Negra - En el pie del morro de Use, se encuentra una gran reserva natural como es la LAGUNA NEGRA, que aunque sus aguas son cristalinas, la vegetación y sedimentos del fondo le dan a primera vista un aspecto oscuro y sombrío. Los Páramos (Documental completo)
Documental que retrata los principales enemigos que tienen los ecosistemas de páramos en Colombia. Una visión crítica del camino hacia la extinción del agua.
Museo de Arte Religioso Francisco Cristóbal Toro (Santa Fe de Antioquia)
Esta edificación data de 1726 y alberga en su interior una colección de piezas procedentes de las distintas iglesias de la región, que dan cuenta de la presencia de arte español, quiteño y santafereño durante la época colonial.
Puente de Boyacá Luces Navideñas 2018
Se encendió la iluminación navideña en el monumento histórico donde se reconoce la importancia del cuidado y protección de los recursos naturales.
Luego de un arduo trabajo de 4 meses, donde más de 30 hombres y mujeres cabeza de familia del sector Puente de Boyacá pusieron su esfuerzo y creatividad, se encendió la iluminación navideña de este sitio histórico y emblemático, que año tras año recibe miles de turistas nacionales y extranjeros. Con el encendido de más de 3 millones 700 mil bombillos y la batalla de juegos pirotécnicos, el gobernador de Boyacá, Carlos Andrés Amaya, dio la bienvenida a la época más alegre y colorida del año.
El alumbrado del Puente de Boyacá estará encendido hasta el 7 de enero de 2019, se cuenta con capacidad para 600 vehículos y se han definido las estrategias para garantizar la seguridad de este monumento nacional con 60 unidades de la Policía Nacional que estarán cada noche en el lugar. Como es tradicional, se puede disfrutar de una feria gastronómica que reúne comida típica de varias regiones del Departamento
