My first Flybe Embraer E175 flight Doncaster to Paris June 2019
I finally took to the skies on my first ever Embraer E175 flight with UK regional airline Flybe on Monday 24th of June 2019.
Flying from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to Paris Charles De Gaulle, both of which were 2 new airports for me to fly from/to.
On reaching the terminal it was a short walk from there to the baggage drop-off. And thanks to a short queue there wasn't much waiting around.
After dropping my bag off and collecting my boarding pass I then proceeded up the escalator towards the security and screening area.
The whole process was quick and efficent with no waiting at security at all. Once I'd collected my items I checked the departure board to see that my gate would be displayed in over 1 hour.
This allowed plenty of time to relax, enjoy a Sausage Sandwich and filter Coffee at the Wetherspoons where you can enjoy views overlooking the apron and runway.
Soon it was time to proceed downstairs to Gate number 6. All 70 passengers were waiting patiently in the area downstairs ready to board. After a few minutes waiting, we all proceeded straight to the aircraft where we were greeted by one of the flight attendants.
Taking my seat (3A) I settled in for what was set to be an exciting first flight onboard the small Embraer regional Jet. With boarding complete, we commenced our pushback and engine start, soon thereafter beginning our taxi to runway 20.
Passing by Vulcan XH558 brought back memories of the time I filmed it at Prestwick Airport in 2015 (check the video out in Cards).
Without any waiting, at the holding point, we quickly lined up and with both engines spooling into life departed a cloudy and murky Doncaster Airport.
After climbing through 10,000f the seatbelt signs were turned off and the Cabin crew began their in-flight service. I chose to have a Chocolate Croissant and a cup of Coffee (Cost £3.50).
We reached our cruising altitude of 35,000ft and I settled in for what was set to be a short 1 hour and 10-minute flight.

This was another great show. Morrissey was at his best and seemed happy to be on stage, although perhaps not as talkative as he had been before. The crowd was receptive and appreciative. There was no change in the setlist content or order.
The venue was a leisure centre with gym and swimming pool, so as he walked on stage Morrissey greeted the crowd by saying Can you smell adventure? Here at the Thrift Green Trotters Running Club? Let me run... After Black Cloud he added So we came to Brentwood in search of adventure, and what we found was..., which led to When Last I Spoke To Carol. At the very end of Ganglord he followed the final line get your fat ass back to the ghetto with the additional lines wherever the ghetto might be, get your fat ass back to the ghetto. After the song he said You see, the less you expect, the more you receive... As the band was lauching into Teenage Dad On His Estate, he mocked someone in the audience by imitating their voice.
Following Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself, Morrissey proceeded with the introduction of the band: Trying their very very best to make me seem interesting are Boz Boorer... and on the bass is Solomon Walker... on the drums is Matt Walker... on the electric guitar is Jesse Tobias... and on the piano is Gustavo Manzur... and I know nothin'... As an introduction to The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores he asked Do you mind if I quote myself? Should I? No... He followed the song with the line For this is what I do for a living... unbelievable!
As he returned to the stage for the encore, Morrissey chatted with various fans in the front row: Anything to say? (fan: 'some girls are bigger than others'; Morrissey shrugs and moves along) Anything else? (fan: 'cheers Moz!'; Morrissey asks someone else) La-la... I dare you... (fan requests 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out') Why should I? (fan shouts something) Do you have any money? Oh yeah, but... (fan: 'Morrissey!') What? What? (clears throat and imitates Essex accent) I'm in Essex, what? What? Sorry, what did you say? Yes? Who? (fan: 'I haven't forgiven Jesus but I have forgiven Swindon'; Morrissey does not look impressed) Are you from Spain? (moves along) Yes? (fan talks about getting a tattoo) I saw you the other night, I think it was at Leeds, wasn't it, no? No, I never s- I didn't see any of you, did I? Or did I? Nervous people, no? (moves to someone else) I dare you (fan thanks for show the week before; Morrissey moves to someone else) Would you be nice? He then handed the microphone to someone who said something, then moved along the row in search of someone else with something to share, but never found anyone, so he proceeded with the encore.
