Tierra del Fuego Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Tierra del Fuego in Argentina.
Located at the most southerly tip of Chile and Argentina, Tierra Del Fuego is America’s wild south, a ‘land of fire’ at the end of the world. At its southernmost tip South America ends in a confusion of islands and at the granite rocks of storm beaten Cape Horn.We visit the Argentinean section of Fireland and arrive at Ushuaia, the southernmost town in the world and ‘gateway to Antarctica’. It is difficult to believe that not long ago nothing but the wooden huts of Anglican missionaries stood here, those who introduced Christianity to the Fireland Indians in 1869. The Museo Territorial is contained within one of the town’s oldest buildings and although its display rooms are somewhat small, the exhibits more than compensate. The history of this former prison island is also on show and well documented with old photographs, paintings and various tools. Next we enter Presidio Prison, a dark chapter of Tierra del Fuego’s historic past. It was inaugurated in 1902 after almost four hundred hardened criminals in yellow-blue striped clothing had been forced to build it. Only a handful of people are allowed to go to the island closely supervised by a guide and sticking to well-defined pathways. It is amusing to watch the Magellan Penguins - which actually bray like donkeys! – as they waddle along in true penguin-like comical fashion. Where once brave explorers, far from civilisation, discovered new land, today ECO tourism is flourishing. Hopefully it will always be an adventure to come here on this journey to Fireland at the end of the world!

Antarctica - The Final Frontier (MV Ushuaia) - HD -
Antarctica is one of the last untouched destinations in the world where you can see remarkable wildlife, such as penguins, seals, whales and orcas, up-close and in abundance amidst pristine, awe-inspiring scenery with only a minimal human footprint.
The Antarctic Circle is full of extremes being the coldest, driest, highest and windiest place on Earth. For this reason, it was, until recently, the stomping ground for nobody but the hardiest of Polar Explorers – legends such as Scott, Amundsen and Shackleton, who continue to capture the imagination with their tales of endurance and resourcefulness, in the face of appalling conditions.
Only discovered in the 19th Century, Antarctica still has no permanent residents, but there are now an excellent range of options for Antarctic travel, with expedition cruises departing from southern Argentina or Australia. Or for those on a tight schedule, there are now flights to and from King George Island, where an Antarctic fly cruise can be boarded without the need to sail the Drake Passage.

Rear Window - The Lost Tribes of Tierra del Fuego
The indigenous people of Tierra del Fuego were almost entirely wiped out by European-inflicted killings, disease, and alcoholism. German missionary Martin Gusinde’s photos of these people exist as an important reminder of this lost civilisation. teleSUR

At the fabled ‘edge of the world’ the natural wonders of Patagonia await. This last frontier of South America slopes down from The Andes towards Antarctica.
This is a land of legendary beauty, where Mother Nature runs the show. Prepare to feel dwarfed by mighty volcanoes, towering glaciers and floating icebergs.
On the Argentinean side, a relaxing day trip takes you from sleepy San Martín de los Andes to Villa La Angostura. Simply follow the scenic Road of the 7 Lakes, taking in two national parks. This will bring you to San Carlos de Bariloche, a popular mountain resort on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi.
Take a detour along the famous Ruta 40 to the town of El Chaltén: Argentina’s trekking capital in the southern Andes. Hike to the idyllic Laguna Capri or higher lookout points to gaze up at Fitz Roy mountain. View the jagged peaks of Cerro Torre, which few dare to climb.
El Calafate is nestled on the southern shores of Lago Argentino, the gateway lake to Los Glaciares National Park. Embark on an epic journey to the world’s third-largest freshwater reserve: the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Board the 'End of the World Train’ to Tierra del Fuego National Park or join a cruise along the Beagle Channel, to experience Antarctica without actually going there.
On the Chilean side, you can find fascinating historic and cultural attractions in pretty colonial cities, such as the regional capital Punta Arenas.
On your way north, take a detour to the Milodón cave. This prehistoric shelter held the remains of a giant ground-dwelling sloth and other huge extinct species.
The dramatic national park of Torres del Paine is brimming with lakes that spill out into gorgeous waterfalls, such as Salto Grande.
Spot the spectacular outline of the Osorno Volcano, the focal point of Los Lagos, the lake region that forms the northern border of Chilean Patagonia.
This magical wilderness at the far edge of the world reminds us that we are just temporary spectators of nature’s infinite beauty.
Patagonian Explorer - 4 Nights - Ventus Australis
Running between Ushuaia (Argentina) and Punta Arenas (Chile), the voyage will be undertaken by the brand new Ventus Australis, a state-of-the-art adventure cruise ship and the latest edition to the Australis fleet.
Whales in Ushuaia (Argentina) Part I. Ballenas en Ushuaia (Argentina) Parte I.
This is one of the best experience you could have in your life. I spent one month in Argentina in December 2015, and one of the main objectives of my trip was to spot the whales in Península Valdés. I could not see them at the begining of December, as they migrate in this stage of the year, but God is generous and gave me this present a few days later when I visited Ushuia. This video has been possible thanks to the professionalism of the Captain of that small ship, Silvio from Patagonia Adventure Explorer Agency, who was the one who spoted them very far from us, and provided with these marvelous images, which remain in my retina. I hope you like the videos.
[S2 - Eps. 22] Let's get OUT OF HERE - Tierra del Fuego Patagonia
I've been very lucky with a week of great weather, but now there is some bad weather predicted for Tierra del Fuego. I don't want to find myself stuck in Ushuaia for two weeks with snow, so today I'm riding out of here.
It's was a long day of riding, a border crossing and to top it off, some nice dirt-road but I reached Porvenir!

Tierra del Fuego — Argentina Adventure
Throughout history, Tierra del Fuego has captured the imaginations of adventurers as humans learned about the extremes of our world. Legendary explorers like Ferdinand Magellan, Ernest Shackleton and Robert Fitz Roy brought the region — located at the southern tip of the South American continent — to international notoriety and inspired scores of adventurers in the coming generations. This video showcases the Argentine side of Tierra del Fuego.

Argentina: Tierra del Fuego
Primarily consisting of one large island, Isla Grande, and many smaller ones, mostly uninhabited, Tierra del Fuego is bounded by the Strait of Magellan in the North and the Drake Passage to the South. We learn how the 'Land of Fire' got its name and that Magellan may not have been the first explorer to discover the Strait. Based in Ushuaia, our explorations reveal more of the history of the island and its original inhabitants and we visit an Eared Seal colony, Cormorant Island, and a National Park that shares its boundary with Chile. Patagonia! A Majestic Unknown Land In South America | Real Wild Documentary
Valdez Peninsula, a wedge of Patagonia that juts out into Argentina's Atlantic seaboard is probably the richest area for wildlife in South America outside the tropics, particularly the marine life of sea lions, fur seals and elephant seals. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes mountains as well as the deserts, glaciers, grasslands east of this southern portion of the Andes. Inside the Peninsula is an arid scrubland, part of the windswept Patagonian Plain that covers most of southern Argentina. It is home to large colonies of up to 100 Patagonian hares or maras which, rare for mammals, pair for life. The peninsula is a stronghold of the elegant guanaco which is unique because it never needs to drink water and survives just on its meagre diet of desert plants. Look for the incredible wildlife yourself!
