Persephone Theatre Northern Tour
Earlier this spring, the Persephone Theatre's Youth Tour was in Cumberland House, Sandy Bay, Wollaston Lake, Fond du Lac and Black Lake. They presented their show Beneath The Ice in each of these communities' schools and held workshops for students and teachers.
Orano was happy to be able to partner with Athabasca Basin Development, West Wind Aviation and Transwest Air to bring this actiity to some of the northern schools.

#Saskatoon is a city in central #Saskatchewan #Canada. It is located along the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway, and has served as the cultural and economic hub of central Saskatchewan.
Saskatoon is home to the University of Saskatchewan, the Meewasin Valley Authority which protects the South Saskatchewan River and provides for the city's popular riverbank park spaces, and Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a National Historic Site of Canada and UNESCO World Heritage applicant representing 6,000 years of First Nations history. The Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344, the most populous rural municipality in Saskatchewan, surrounds the city and contains many of the developments associated with it, including Wanuskewin. Saskatoon is named after the saskatoon berry which is native to the region, and is itself derived from the Cree misâskwatômina. The city has a significant Indigenous population and several urban Reserves. The city has nine river crossings and is nicknamed Paris of the Prairies and Bridge City.
Historic neighbourhoods of Saskatoon include Nutana and Riversdale, which were separate towns before amalgamating with the town of Saskatoon and incorporating as a city in 1906. Nutana, Riversdale, their historic main streets of Broadway Avenue and 20th Street, as well as the downtown core and other central neighbourhoods are seeing significant reinvestment and redevelopment. Sutherland, the rail town annexed by the city in 1956 that lies beyond the University lands, is now another historic neighbourhood.

Saskatoon's Artistic Director of Persephone Theatre, Del Surjik, meets with Chef Miguel Delucus Sentes of Calories to determine the theme and menu for a gourmet organic and local food dinner. The theme following that of a theatrical performance is set and we enjoy seeing the evening roll out as every good production should. The guest farmer for the evening, Marion Leniczek of Lily and Rose organic farm at Lemburg talks to us from her mixed grain and sheep farm. The menu includes a succulent lamb shank so the tables of guests enjoy a sample of their product one part of a very complex and varied menu. Cam and Vesti Hanson entertain the group with musical selections and conversation at the table compliment the chef and the growers of great Saskatchewan products, second to none. As the 11th episode of a thirteen part television series, Calories shines in its usual fashion featuring local and organic selections.
