Exploring the Secret Caves and Lagoons of Phang Nga Bay in Phuket, Thailand
This time we spent the day on a Kayaking Tour via the John Gray Sea Canoe Kayaking Tour. We went on the Hong by Starlight day trip. Had a great time exploring the different caves and lagoons only accessible at certain times of the day. We also participated in a mock Loy Krathong ceremony.

Thailand Phuket - The Best Day Out, Caves & Canoeing in Phang Nga
One of the best days out in Thailand Phuket. Sea Canoeing by starlight was definitely worth every penny, getting taking out to Phang Nga by boat and canoeing through caves into lagoons, seeing wildlife and the most breathtaking views and scenery. Photography paradise if you have a camera. Amazing vegan friendly food for breakfast and lunch. And finally a beautiful ceremony lighting the flowers in the cave at night (bit creepy). We enjoyed this day so much and highly recommend!

Phuket, Thailand - Phang Nga Bay canoe tour
Canoe tour via 'Sea Cave Canoe - My Phuket Holiday' through Phang Nga Bay in Thailand:
3 stops - Ko Pa Nak island, Hong Island, and James Bond island (not in video).
I highly recommend! Our guide was great, and did all the paddling :). Much cheaper than other tours that only went to one place.
Even though it wasn't the greatest weather (overcast, summer, rainy), the video still doesn't capture the beauty of these places...

Batcave Canoeing, PoV, Panak Island, Phang Nga Bay, Phuket | Thailand Tourism
One of the activities on 4 island tour or 5 island tours from phuket. We were doing the james bond island tour. This is Panak Island cave, also known as batcave because there are many bats in the cave. This is just 10 minutes away from the Phang nga bay canoeing area. This is a PoV video and you can experience the canoe virtually.

A brilliant day out! The weather wasn't great to start, however improved throughout the day and was perfect when we needed it to be. The kayaking was amazing and so much fun. Kayaking though the caves was an adventure we will never forget and the lagoons were breathtaking - we had sooo much fun, and we never felt unsafe throughout. The crew, the paddle guides, everyone was brilliant - would definitely recommend!!
Plus points :
- High guide to tourist ratio (we actually had the entire boat to ourselves shhhh...)
- Guide with well-spoken English
- Good lunch provided
- Entering the cave when it's more challenging with the benefit of having the entire bay to ourselves (you won't believe the number of tourists flocking in when the tide is low - it's ridiculous and almost impossible to take a picture of yourself with the nature with so many people around)
Cons
- Slightly pricey (but totally worth it)
- Heard they are going under soon, due to bad management and marketing (so enjoy they service while the guides are still around)
e have just got back from our sea kayaking trip which is a must do. The scenery is incredible and seeing it and exploring it from a kayak was an unforgettable experience. Whilst we were on the trip we kept saying how glad we were that we went with this company. We got to the caves and into the lagoons before all the big tour groups arrived, and often were just leaving as they came through which meant we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery and tranquility of the places. As we passed other groups it looked awful, although I understand some people like to be part of a big group, kayaks were queuing to go through caves and tonnes of people filled what was a peaceful lagoon. We were a group of 6 which was perfect, of course groups may be bigger but never the 30/40people of other groups we saw as the boat only accommodates about 20, this is a huge plus for this company. We opted for the self paddle and were kayaking for a few hours but it was very doable, we each had our own kayak and of course a guide can paddle for you if you prefer. We also really enjoyed the fact that we paddled to each cave as opposed to a boat taking us to the cave then just using the kayak to go in it. Tom really knows his stuff and gave guidance where needed as we navigated the caves so we felt like we were in safe hands. He also really cares about the environment, using only glass bottles on the boat and collecting litter he sees in the sea as we kayaked. The food was really delicious, and after kayaking was very welcome...I had 3 helpings! Drinks (water and coke) were also included throughout the day. Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

James Bond Island Phang Nga Bay Phuket Thailand
This is the stunning Phang Nga Bay within minutes of Royal Phuket Marina.
Its emerald waters and limestone cliffs shape this awe inspiring backdrop.
A backdrop that has been used by an array of movie producers and directors from around the world.
Arguably the most famous of all movies filmed here is The Man with the Golden Gun, the 9th James Bond movie.
Featuring Roger Moore as the hero James Bond, and Christopher Lee as the villain Scaramanga, the film was mainly shot here, nearby Phuket.
One of Scaramanga’s secret bases is hidden in Koh Ping Khan which is less than 20 minutes by boat from Phuket.
The island has since been renamed James Bond Island and is a very popular landmark with locals and tourists alike.
James Bond Island along with many others in Phang Nga Bay is the backdrop for the Royal Phuket Marina Boat Rally taking place on Saturday 14th May.
