Disney Fantasy Excursion in St Thomas, Scenic Drive and Pirate Museum.
First an hour long scenic drive up to Drake's seat, stopping for a photo op a couple times. Then on to Blackbeard's Castle, 3 Queens and the famous 99 steps. We then were dropped off at the Pirate's Treasure Museum with many fun interactive exhibits. The scenic drive was beautiful, however, the drivers offered very little information on what we were seeing. I honestly thought the pirates museum would not go well with the family but the employees there were amazing and had so many stories to share. There were a lot of interactive exhibits that were fun, too. Afterward, we took our time heading back to port (10 minute walk) as we stopped at local shops and bought some souvenirs. This was the perfect excursion for a family with all ages traveling together.

111 Sean Loughman of Pirates Treasure Museum
Sean Loughman is a partner and curator at the Pirates Treasure Museum in St Thomas, Virgin Islands. The museum has loads of great shipwreck artifacts, pirate items, and Sean's specialty... coins. Lots and lots of coins.
During our talk we dig into lesser known but interesting pirates Jean Hamlin and Bartholomew Sharpe. Sean tells a great story about a controversial scandal around Spanish pieces of eight. And he tells us about the new shipwreck project he's working on that they're pretty darn sure is a legit pirate ship.
And after the interview I'll give you an update on Sean's and the museum's current situation post-hurricanes.
Under The Crossbones is a podcast all about pirate culture. Saint Thomas' Pirate Castle / Nick Lido in Virgin Island (US)
Produced and Featured by Nick Lido's Travel Journal at youtube.com/nicklido
Nick visited a famous pirates' Blackbeard Fortress-Castle that was built by pirated to protect themself from authorities when ashore. HISTORY: Edward Teach (c. 1680 -- 22 November 1718), better known as Blackbeard, was a notorious English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of the American colonies.
Teach captured a French merchant vessel, renamed her Queen Anne's Revenge, and equipped her with 40 guns. He became a renowned pirate, his cognomen derived from his thick black beard and fearsome appearance. He formed an alliance of pirates.
