Curacao Playa Lagun Beach ???? and Snorkeling ????????
We visited Playa Lagun to do some snorkeling while touring Curacao. It offers a small white sand beach ???? with nice snorkeling on both sides, which are rocky walls of the cove. There was a nice variety of fish and coral and it's possible to swim the entire circumference without much difficulty. This was a great stop. ????????

Lagun Beach Curaçao.
Playa Lagun is a beach on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, located near the village of Lagoon in the north-west of the island. The beach is located in a small bay. Surrounding the bay, an apartment complex has been built. The beach is used as a starting point for snorkeling. There is a snack bar and also a restaurant and diveschool.
La playa Lagun es una playa en la isla caribeña de Curazao, ubicada cerca del pueblo de Lagoon en el noroeste de la isla. La playa está situada en una pequeña bahía. Rodeando la bahía, se ha construido un complejo de apartamentos. La playa se utiliza como punto de partida para bucear. Hay un bar de aperitivos y también un restaurante y una escuela de buceo.

Between Santa Cruz and Jeremi lies Playa Lagun. This beach has always intrigued me. The feeling of swimming in a cove is so unique.
The area around this beach is called Lagun. It is surrounded by different apartments and 'weekendhuizen' (local name for vacation houses) that can be rented to be near the beach. Aside from some small restaurants and dive shops there is not much to do around the area. It may sound boring, but it is the perfect place to get away.

Playa Grandi ???? is a small beach on the west point. It does not have a lot of facilities and by the weeks it is nicely quiet. The local fishermen clean the fish and throw some remains into the water. Because of this, the turtles are always here. If you go diving or snorkeling here, you'll see the turtles just past you or under you by swimming. Really a very nice experience !! Also, there are countless fish swimming around you. For me, this was really the best place to snorkel on Curacao ????!
For this movie, I have used a SONY FDR-AX53 camera and a GoPro Hero 4 black edition. Everything is shot in 4K or UHD.

We spent a day touring around the west side of Curacao to visit multiple beaches and sites on the west side of the island with Irie Tours. This is the perfect tour for you if you don’t want to rent a car and want an affordable and fun tour company to take you around the island. We started at Shete Boka National Park to see the incredible waves! We then went to Playa Piskadó where the fisherman bring their catch. There are also many snorkelers here. Next up we went just up the road to go cliff jumping in the crystal clear water. After that we go to visit one of the best beaches on the island, Grote Knip where we went swimming. Lastly we headed to Playa Porto Marie to have some lunch and lounge on the beach, where we also encounter some beach pigs!

Shete Boka Park:
This is an area adjoining the Christoffelpark covering more than 10 kilometers of the rocky wave-exposed north coast of the island and with some 10 pocket beaches where 3 species of sea turtles are known to lay eggs. The most well-known and favorite inlet for visitors is Boka Tabla. If you enjoy getting off the beaten track and into rugged countryside, you will love National Park Shete Boka. The park begins at stunning Boka Tabla, where huge waves thunder into an underground cavern. Steps cut into the rocks lead you directly into the mouth of the cavern; you can sit on the very edge and watch the surf roll in. After you peek inside the cavern you can walk along the limestone bluffs above for a spectacular view of Curacao's rugged north coast.
Playa Piskadó:
This tiny fishermen's beach is also popular for snorkeling and diving and has some good photo ops of the boats and nets. Manchineel trees provide some shade. A small snack bar is open on the weekend. Entrance to the water is somewhat rocky.
Grote Knip:
Grote Knip (also called Playa Abou in Papiamento, translation: Beach in a valley) is a beach on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, located at the western side of the island, between the villages of Westpunt and Lagun. The beach gives way to a small lagune between high rocks. It is freely accessible to the public. The beach is used as a starting point for snorkeling, due to the presence of a coral reef nearby.
Playa Porto Mari:
Playa PortoMari is a beautiful sandy bay to be found on the private estate of Plantages PortoMari at the west coast of the tropical island of Curacao (in the Caribbean). Its white coral sand beach with clear and calm water is a true paradise for water lovers. The unique ‘double reef’ is easily accesible from the shore providing a fascinating snorkel and dive site. For landlubbers, three nature trails (the Seru Matteo Trail, the History Trail and the Bird Trail) have their starting point at the beach’s parking lot. They are ideal for hiking but can also be conquered by mountain bike.

Snorkeling Curacao, Playa Lagun
In April 2016 waren we op Curaçao. We logeerden aan het paradijselijke Playa Lagun. Het snorkelen was adembenemend.
We lagen meer op de buik in het water dan op de rug in de zon. Het gaf je een gevoel of je in een subtropisch aquarium zwom.
Een prachtig koraalrif met een nog indrukwekkendere onderwaterwereld. Mijn eerste snorkel video met GoPro. De opnames werden gaandeweg steeds mooier en beter. Hier een samenvatting van 8 dagen snorkelen. Enjoy !!
