The Grand Canyon - Driving To The Bottom.
My Wife and I drive into the Grand Canyon on Diamond Creek Road from Peach Springs, AZ.
This is an amazing drive!
It's bumpy and isn't a challenging drive until you get to the bottom.
This day the rocks and gravel was loose from all the recent rains. Although we didn't have issues, a lesser vehicle might have.

ABOUT GRAND CANYON’S NORTH RIM IN UTAH
Only 10 miles as the raven flies from the South Rim, the North Rim offers a very different visitor experience. Solitude, awe-inspiring views, a slower pace and the feeling of going back in time are only a few. The rim trails, drives and overlooks are more varied and diverse.
The Grand Canyon North Rim is very close to the Utah Border. It requires more effort to visit the North Rim than it does to visit the South Rim. It is more remote and less visitor will make it to the North side. It is further from any freeways, it is ONLY open seasonally from May 15th through October 15th each year, there is not an Airport nearby - Page, Arizona and St. George, Utah being the closest, and it is just over 200 miles from the South Rim-requiring a 4 hour drive.
Now with that all said, if this is not your first time to Grand Canyon, I would highly recommend the North Rim to you. (First time visitors, it's best to visit the South Rim first!) Many visitors who go to the North Rim in Grand Canyon National Park, also go visit Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. The North Rim offers incredible views and some great day hikes.
North Rim Viewpoints not to be missed:
• Point Imperial
• Cape Royal
• Roosevelt Point
• Walhalla Overlook
• Bright Angel Point
North Viewpoints that require hiking or 4 wheel drive vehicles:
• Cape Final - approx. 2 mile hike each way - 4 miles round trip
• Saddle Mountain - can be reached from the Point Imperial overlook
• Uncle Jim Point - approx. 2 mile hike each way - 4-5 miles round trip
• The Widforss Trail - approx. 5 mile hike each way - 10 miles round trip
• Point Sublime - 4 Wheel Drive recommended
That’s just a small part of the adventure and beauty you’ll find here!

Bright Angel Point - some of the best views in the Grand Canyon
One of the best and most accessible spots to view the Grand Canyon is not on the well-traveled South Rim, but on the lesser traveled North Rim. The walk (or hike) to Bright Angel Point over the course of a quarter mile has fantastic views for all skill levels and ends at an elevation of 8,148 feet, some 5,780 feet above the Colorado River below. The only downside to this hike is that the North Rim is not open year-round like the South Rim, which visitors should be aware of when planning their trip.

North Rim Campground in Grand Canyon National Park offers 90 sites for tents and RVs. The campground is open from mid May through mid October. Situated at 8,000 feet the location offers cool summer days and nice nights for sleeping or campfires. Good spacing between sites and a healthy forest around make for a true camping feel. Mostly pull thru sites on concentric loops the campground is accessible for large RVs with some site pads of 40 feet. The roadways are reasonably wide but some loop roads can get narrow. Restrooms available along with water spigots. There is a laundry and showers about 1/8 mile away and the same distance to the small store and cafe.
It is a decent 1 mile hike to the North Rim viewing areas but multiple trails take you through the lovely forest.
Advanced reservations recommended at this popular campground.
A gas station is available at the entrance to the campground.

Grand Canyon North Rim Adventure Arizona HD
Hiking the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona is truly a thrill. The main difference between the North and South Rims is the view and the fact that there are a whole lot less people. This video was shot along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon by Larry Richardson for RichardsonArtPhotographyStore.com using an Apple iPhone 7.

Grand Canyon NP // North Rim // Kaibab NF
My first visit to the Grand Canyon. Kaibab National Forest in May is a lovely camping experience. You should definitely try it. :) 60-70 degree weather. Lots of stars at night. I'm starting to think I liked the forest more than the park. Oh snap! :)
