City Elefant Trains-Masaryk Station in Prague-Masarykovo Nádraží
Watch City Elefant trains at Masaryk Train Station in Prague. Masarykovo Nádraží v Praze is the name of this Prague downtown train station in Czech. It is even more centrally located than the main Prague train station and of a very different style right at the street level. Masaryk Station is smaller and all the tracks that lead to it end there. It is similar to the train station in Venice, Italy for example. The City Elefant trains are Czech made trains that are manufactured in the city of Ostrava by Škoda Transportation. They have air conditioning and are one of the most modern and newest Czech trains run by Czech Railways or České Dráhy.
The City Elefant trains are still being manufactured and they have been sold in modified versions to other countries like the Ukraine and Slovakia recently. In the Czech Republic there are about 80 train sets of City Elefant trains in use.
The name Elefant is indeed spelled Elefant with an f in the middle and not Elephant with ph in the middle as you'd expect in the English language. It mimics the German spelling.
The trains are electric trains. They are replacing old electric trains called Pantograf.
Enjoy.
