Prudhoe Flood 28 June 2012
On the 28th June the North East of England was hit by a severe thunderstorm. Torrential rain caused serious flooding throughout. Prudhoe in Northumberland has a long history with flooding problems around Station Road, parts of the Industrial estate, Castlefields estate and the railway station car park.
This video shows areas around Station Road before, during and after the storm and the effects of the heavy rainfall in that area.
A recently passed town centre redevelopment could see the addition of 150 houses, a massive supermarket and retail units being built on greefield land adjacent to Station Road.
There currently appears to be serious incapacity problems with the town's sewers. Can they take any extra load?

Wylam is great for a pub crawl as well as famous for the being the birthplace of George Stephenson, one of the early railway pioneers.

SCA Prudhoe Miners Race 2015
The SCA Prudhoe Miners Race took place on Sunday 27th September 2015. This video contains the photographs taken of the Adult 10k which left Stonyflat Bank and traveled through Front Street, up Beaumnot Way Bank, along Highfield Lane, down South Road, back along the Front Street and then turned at The Falcon down towards the Riverside Track, heading for home.
Both the Junior 3k and 1.5k Mini-Run follwed the Riverside Path. Full results can be found on the Run Nation website

Storm Desmond Washes Away Whole Cottages (Corbridge / Prudhoe)
A small community between Corbridge and Prudhoe was devastated when the River Tyne broke it's banks and washed away whole cottages that have been on the banks for over a hundred years. It's the highest anyone has ever seen it. (African Village/Ferry landing)
ITV News Prudhoe Castle Woods Flooding
ITV Tyne Tees News coverage of the longstanding problem of flooding in and around the woods at Prudhoe Castle and Low Prudhoe Industrial Estate.
During periods of heavy rainfall the station road surface water system often surges and gallons of water pour throughout the woods and footpaths. The water often contains foul flows which appear to be overflowing from the towns foul water sewers. It is intended to plumb into the existing problematic the additional flows from the recently passed plans for a huge town centre redevelopment.
Sewer Problems Prudhoe Castle Woods 2011
Heavy rain on 6 August 2011 caused flooding in Prudhoe, Northumberland.
A manhole in Prudhoe Castle Woods as part of the Station Road surface water sewer system, opened and the water cascaded through the woods.
Damage was caused to the footpaths. Sewage derived debris was left in the open culvert after the event.
