Queen's University Belfast; Beautiful Belfast Landmark
Queen's Belfast is a landmark in the city that will remind anyone of their visit to the City. It is one of the best universities in the UK and would be the number 1 in Northern Ireland. QUB as it is known - or Queens University Belfast - offers many courses in Belfast. These include QUB medicine, QUB language centre, QUB law, QUB engineering, QUB biological science and much more!
At first it might appear weird for some people to include visiting a university during their trip to a specific city, but sometimes these universities attract people for the history they carry within the buildings and not in what they tend to offer - although in the case of Queen's University one could also study there!
Even the Queen's University of Belfast went through some different events back in time, it was actually chartered in 1845 and opened once again in 1849 as Queen's College, Belfast. As much as tourists might sometimes be found walking and touring around the building while taking several pictures, we should never forget the main purpose of this building which is offering knowledge to students and that happens through the different degrees that it offers.
Looking back into history, there is what tells us about the success that this university carries. Queen's University of Belfast has its roots in the Belfast Academical Institution, which was founded in 1810, one of the United Kingdom's 10 oldest universities, and remains as the Royal Belfast Academical Institution.
Back in time, when the university first opened its doors, it consisted of 23 professors and 343 students, and then it kept on moving forward to accept all these numbers of students who are applying for it every single year or even every single semester.
The main campus of the university is the one mostly known by those who come to visit Belfast, Northern Ireland, but it is important for people to know that there are two associated university colleges which are St. Mary's and Stranmillis, both are located in the west and south-west of the city. The university's buildings are spread around the city public streets in South Belfast, University Road, University Square and Stranmillis Road, with even other departments which are located further afield.
There are different places and destinations that people usually have on the list when it comes to visiting Belfast, Northern Ireland, and along those walking trips which they will be doing, they might come across the Queen's University in Belfast and that is exactly when they will realize how beautiful this old building looks like and start taking some pictures of it.
In addition to the famous bus tours which might be routing the city and which could give you an overall view about the famous things to be seen in the city ( there are some important touristic destinations that we have to shed the lights on and mention and which will be for those Titanic lovers - almost all the people out there - since there is the Titanic Quarter where the museum, the dock and pump house, and even the SS Nomadic which is regarded as its sister are all located there (
Moving on with Titanic, there is also the famous City Hall which marks Belfast and where there is also a memorial for the lost lives of Titanic ( there is St. Anne's Cathedral ( the Cathedral Quarter which is an old district in Belfast city ( where the famous Commercial Court is also situated and is considered one of the places in the centre of the city which lots of tourists enjoy going to and visiting (
The list could keep going to include the famous bars, restaurants, and cafes which might be different in one way or another from those scattered all around the world, or which might be carrying a great history behind that would attract locals and tourists to them - always make the best out of your trip to a country to come back not missing a thing you should have passed by.
Queen's University in Belfast is an educational place that welcomes people from around the world to study in it and it is one of the most famous universities when it comes to Northern Ireland and even the United Kingdom, but when one tends to look at it all from the touristic point of view, one will realize that the building is attractive enough in the middle of the city to bring all those people to take photographs and assign it in their memories.
Have you ever seen Queen's University in Belfast in real before? Whether you are considering to study or work in it or not, experiencing this old building is also a great deal which will make the trip even more exciting.

Walking around Belfast City Center Northern Ireland (home of Game of Thrones & Titanic was built)
I took a stroll around Belfast City Center during my lunch and I will give you a glimpse of our wee beautiful city.
This wee country of Northern Ireland is full of amazing history and jaw dropping historical buildings.
This is the place where the hottest show on television was mostly filmed the Game of Thrones. HBO has its own studio here and some of the biggest scenes were filmed in the country side of Northern Ireland.
Meanwhile, the real Titanic ship was built here at Harland and Wolff (H&W).

Victorian Fish Bar (1962)
Kensington, London.
At The Contented Sole fish bar has been decorated with all the trimmings of Queen Victoria's days.
C/U of chips being scooped out of a fryer onto a plate. M/S of the chef passing the plate to a waitress - both wear old fashioned clothes. M/S of the waitress taking the plate upstairs, in the foreground is a gramophone, stuffed fish hang on the wall.
She serves the food to a group of trendy young people. In the middle of all the diners a man in a bowler hat plays a honky tonk piano. Various shots of the diners, the food their eating and the piano player - giving the general impression this restaurant is a hip and swinging place (or plaice, even).
M/S of the chef dipping a raw fish in batter and placing it in the fryer. C/U of the chief smiling. He takes the cooked fish and places it in a special carrying box decorated with a newspaper print pattern. He passes the box over the counter to a young man. M/S of the man walking up the street with his posh fish and chips box.

WhatsoninBelfast Crown Bar
The Crown dates back to 1826, when the first train ran from Belfast to Lisburn. It was then known as the Railway Tavern and was owned by Felix O'Hanlon; he sold it to Michael Flanagan, but it was Michael's son, Patrick, who was destined to make it famous. A student of architecture, he travelled widely, and was impressed by what he saw. He arrived home with ideas to brighten up the old family bar.
The Crown is both ageless and priceless, a gem of Victoriana and one of the great bars of the world. Formerly known as The Liquor Saloon in Great Victoria Street, it was one of the mightiest Victorian gin palaces which once flourished in the industrial cities of the British Isles. Dating back to 1826, it is now owned by the National Trust and has been sympathetically restored over the years.
The Crown remains a unique visual gem, a veritable masterpiece in bar architecture, which has the distinction of being known to millions the world over. The exterior facade of the bar is a riot of polychromatic tiles which clearly hint at the box of delights to be found within. At first sight the outside is so exotically overwhelming that one has difficulty in registering the fine detail work.
The Crown Bar is so unbelievably rich in colour and design that each time you go in you'll find something new to catch your eye that you may have missed before. Where else would you find a burnished primrose yellow, red and gold ceiling, a floor laid in a myriad of mosaic tiles, brocaded walls, ubiquitous highly patterned times, vigorous wood carving throughout, ornate mirrors, wooden columns with Corinthian capitals and feather motifs in gold with painted and etched glass everywhere you look.
